Summary: Good, but not her best
Review: This is a very good adventure/fantasy book. But it seems to have been written for a younger audience unlike her other books. I missed the romance in LJ Smith's trilogies and Night World series. And with the exception of Janie, and the Vixen, the characters didn't have have me hanging onto their every move unlike her other books. Oh well, it was her 1st book, and L J Smith has certainly become a incredibly excellent author now.

Summary: You can Tell it was Written for Younger Readers
Review: This was the first book from L J Smith. After the first couple of chapters, its kind of obvious that it was written for younger readers, because 1. The way its written, you can tell so that younger readers will understand 2. Not to much violence & 3. Its written about a family, not about soulmates like her most recent books. Younger readers, and those who havent read "The Vampire Dairies" "The Secret Circle" "Dark Visions" "The Forbidden Game" and the "Night World" series may like it, but for those who have read the series listed above, they probably wouldn't like it as much if they really liked the other books, because it's more childish then the others.
