Summary: good intro and body, lame conclusion
Review: I liked this book until I came to the last two or three chapters. It left so much unresolved, which I hate in a book. It didn't explain how the larva got into the brain without the victims noticing. It didn't explain why the larva made them crazy. It didn't explain anything. If I wanted a book without a conclusion, I would defitnely choose this one!

Summary: Forensic Thriller!
Review: I loved it! It was so AWESOME! If you are interested in forensic pathology, as with me, you should totally devour this book! As Jenna finds more and more leads and drops some, you will read it in one sit-down. Read this book if you dare! You will be scared of fruit flies for the rest of your days!!!

Summary: Can't put it down
Review: I picked up this book knowing nothing of Christopher Golden or his previous writings. The title alone caught me as I am a graduate student in law enforcement. The book was excellent. I could not put it down until I finished. The characters are great. You can really relate to them. Christopher Golden has become my favorite author and I can't wait to read Soul Survivor.

Summary: not enough clues to follow
Review: if u r looking for a book that you can play detective while reading, i don't think this is the book u r looking for. you'll never be able to figure out who was behind it all. it had a great mix of book styles. it contained scince fiction, but yet you could still believe it happening in real life. it wasn't completely off the wall. it also contained that intriguing political corruption element that i luv. all this and they still put in romance, but don't get your hopes up...... the dialogues though was weak. when Jenna and her mother or father chatted, the convo didn't seem real life. the most exciting parts r in the autopsy room. you'll be amazed at the detail in there that churns your stomach. once, the mystery starts unfolding, i swear, u can't put it down. it just continues to lead u on and on and on. u will honestly not be able to blink when u read the two chase scenes either. buy it and read. you'll enjoy.

Summary: Great Start to a Refreshing New Series
Review: Jenna Blake is 18-years-old, and is finally heading out to college, where she can finally be alone. Without her mother breathing down her neck, not that she minds her mother too much. Somerset University is fantastic, for the first two days. Partying, meeting new people, hanging out. All of that changes when she gets a job working with a medical examiner, and odd things start happening. On her first day of college her professor dies at her feet, and immediately Jenna realizes that he has been infected with a virus from Costa Rica. From there, havoc ensues at every turn. Jenna is now a huge part in a mystery, that includes politics, disease, murder, and more.

Being a fan of Golden's work with the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER novels I just knew that I had to pick-up BODY BAGS. It's nice to see a character who is just beginning college, as most books available to teens feature characters who are just beginning high school. Jenna is a refreshing new character, who is fun, yet very intelligent at the same time. Her friends, Yoshiko, Melody, and Hunter make the story much more enjoyable; as does the small side-story, featuring Jenna and a love interest, which doesn't turn out the way that I'd hoped. Overall this is a fantastic book, and I am happy that I had the chance to read it. I will be picking up THIEF OF HEARTS on my next trip to the bookstore. A must-have for all fans of science fiction, mystery, or horror.

Summary: Some Enjoyable Parts, But a Little Too Far-Fetched...
Review: Jenna Blake is a brand new freshman at Somerset University in Massachusetts. It was the first time that she would be away from her mother, but Jenna was excited to dive into college life. She loved her new roommate, Yoshiko, and was happy to spend some more time with her father, a university professor of law, whom she hadn't seen very much after her parents divorced. The only problem was that everyone kept pressuring her to decide what she wanted to major in and Jenna just didn't know. She knew that her mom would love it if she became a surgeon, just like her, but she couldn't stand the sight of all of that blood coming out of live people. When her father asked her if the blood was all that bothered her, she thought it was kind of weird, but, before she knew it, he had an interview all lined up with Dr. Walter Slikowski, Chief Medical Examiner with the county. What was even weirder was that Jenna found that she was hired - and that she liked it!

None of her new friends could understand how Jenna could stand to have such a creepy job, but Jenna really got into it. Her first autopsy was for a Nicholas Garson, a congressman's aide, who had suddenly gone berserk in a courthouse and killed a security guard. When Professor Mattei, one of her father's good friends, died under the same bizarre circumstances, prompting the FBI and the CDC to start investigating, Jenna knew that there was a connection, but she didn't know what. Jenna was determined to find out what happened to those people and quickly became a target herself in a winner takes all game set on the stage of international politics...

I enjoyed this book, but it just was a little too contrived and a little too far fetched for me to really believe. The author's descriptions of the ME lab were fascinating and I felt that I learned quite a bit, but Jenna spends most of her time on campus going through normal college stuff, such as buying books, doing homework, etc. She makes some pretty weird decisions, too, but I guess we all do at times. I didn't really care too much for Jenna as a character, though, and wished that I felt more of a connection with her so that I cared what happened to her. The other characters were a little stereotypical, too. Still, it is the start of a promising new series and I think that I will give the next book, Thief of Hearts, a chance and see if I like it any better...
