Rating: Summary: Insect larave! Review: Although this is the first book of A BODY OF EVIDENCE, it was well-written and full of suspense. This story tells of a girl, Jenna Blake, who starts her freshman year at Somerset University. She got a job at Somerset Medical Centre as a pathology assistent. She assist at an autopsy where a man died with his brian full of insect larave. She felt even more curious, scared and upset when her professor died of the same cause. The mystery starts here. Jenna was determined to solve the mystery. She was stalked by a mysterious man and was almost killed. When the mysterious man failed to kil Jenna in his first attempt, he made two more attempts on Jenna's life. Who was this man? What does he want with Jenna? I were hooked on this book when I started reading it. I am like Jenna who was racing against time to find out the murder before someone else gets hurt. Can she make it?
Rating: Summary: More than just Nancy Drew on campus! Review: As a huge Christopher Golden fan, no way was I going to pass up a new, original series from him. As good as his licensed books are, I'd much rather see him working on his own characters. Since this was labeled "young adult," I was afraid it wouldn't be much more than a Nancy Drew on campus-type series. Of course, maybe if I'd bothered to read the book description and seen the bit about insect larvae, I would have had a better idea about how wrong I was . . . While there's nothing particularly inappropriate for a younger audience in this novel, Golden doesn't pull any punches. At turns gruesome, exciting, and hilarious, this is a book that readers of all ages can enjoy. Golden has created a collection of colorful, vivid characters, each with a distinct and individual personality. Even without the mystery plots, I'd still be interested in reading this series, just to see what happens to the cast. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
Rating: Summary: Body Bags is More Than a Thriller Review: Body Bags is More Than a Thriller
Body Bags by Christopher Golden sounds gruesome, but is more of a mystery. The cover may say "A Body of Evidence Thriller," but compared to Stephen King it's mellow. Without knowing what this book is about most would think murder. In truth, most of the book is about a girl just starting college. She is offered a job as a pathology assistant.
This is one of those books that once you start reading, you can't put down. You can relate with the main character, Jenna. Things about her life aren't too fictional. While mysterious murders are happening she still acts like a normal kid. When she's not working or in class she watches movies with friends.
The setting is dark, but Jenna never seems to really notice. She does get upset, but never for a long time. The opening of the book seems random, but later everything fits together. There are also really good descriptions of autopsies, f or me the descriptions weren't too graphic, but to some it might be. As a whole, Body Bags is a must read for future medical students or those who like a good mystery.
Rating: Summary: Good Review Review: Body Bags was an exceptional book. It starts out that an 18-year old girl, Jenna Blake, starts her college year at Somerset University. There her father works there as a professor in criminology. Jenna explains to him that she wants to be a doctor, like her mother, but can't stand the sight of blood and is scared that she might kill someone. Her father suggests that she should become a medical examiner, someone who does autopsies. On the day of her autopsy, she finds that someone has died of some mysterious disease. The patient's eye pops out and his brain is blue, bruised, and covered with maggots. The mystery begins... On Jenna's first day at one of her classes, a professor suddenly becomes irate, throws a student out of the window, and then drops dead at Jenna's feet. At the autopsy room, Jenna finds out that he has the same mysterious disease as the guy before. Soon she has a stalker. After work one night, someone in a hood follows her and pins her down. Jenna manages to escape with the help of some medical students. There are many more enthralling situations in which Jenna is pulled into. I couldn't stop reading it and I finished it in just a couple of hours. Body Bags has a good plot and very realistic. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series!

Rating: Summary: Great Thrill! By: Monica Review: Body Bags, by Christopher Golden was an excellent stroy, filled with adventure, and much suspense. I listened to the audio version of the stroy and the narrator sounded just like an adolescent. The stroy starts off with 18 year old jenna Blake, leaving for college. Her parents are divorced and the college she chose; Somerset University , is where her father is a professor. Jenna goes to college stil undecided about her major. She wants to do something involving medicne, but can't stand the idea of killing someone by accident. Her father suggests that she be a medical examiner. A medical examnier is the person that performs autopsy on the dead to figure out there cause of death. She takes an intership as a meidcal examiner's assistant to the chief ME in the town. Her father helped her recieve the job. The first autopy she helps perform is very gruesome. The team finds maggots in the young man's brain. Jenna is intrigued by the discovery. She is willing to help solve how the maggots entered the man's brain. Meanwhile she meets regularly with her father to discuss his life, adn Jenna's. She meets her fathers 'housemates'. She meets her dad's friend Jose. Jenna has met hime before and likes him. He states that he is researching a Costa Rican president whom he dislikes and is trying to remove from office. He talked of a recent trip to Costa Rica. then Jenna remembered that the young man she performed the autopsy on had too just returned from Costa Rica. then while at Jose's class ( international relations) he spazzes out killing a student and dying at Jenna's feet. She also performs the autopsy on her late professor. He too, had maggots in his brian. Read or listen to the excellent thriller to find out how it ends.
Rating: Summary: I'm actually in the middle of it right now... Review: But I had to write this! It's a fishing line that hooks you without mercy and reels you into the story, which slides through college life and all the problems that arise with it, all the while retaining the right amount of adrenalin. Slick, savvy, and smart!
Rating: Summary: Not a Classic Modern Mystery, but . . . Review: I just finished Body Bags an hour ago, and I was amazed at its exceptional writing and display or horror and mystery. This wasn't your classic modern mystery . . . it was anything but normal and very unpalletable. Not for squeamish people. I look forward to reading more Jenna Blake novels. Praise to Golden on this fabulous novel.
