Rating: Summary: a wonderful book for young and old alike. Review: My daughter read this book while in the fourth grade. She enjoyed it so much that she said I had to read it to. She was right. this book is a great read for all ages.
Rating: Summary: don't read this book it is boring Review: I thought this was the most boringest book i had ever read in 5th and im in 8th grade and i still hate it. I thought it didn't make much sense at all about catching monkeys. It wasn't very intresting at all. I'm also complaining about the print "it was so SMALL that you had to use a magnify glass to even try to see the words"
Rating: Summary: It's not easy to catch a monkey!!! Review: Summer of the Monkeys is a good book. It's about a boy who finds monkeys and tries to catch them to get alot of money because he's poor and needs money. It's harder than it looks to catch a monkey. If you like this review read thiis book.
Rating: Summary: This book is one of the best books I have ever read!!!!! Review: This book is an enjoyable one, thats is for sure! It is about a boy named Jay Berry who lives in the Winnebago Cherokeee Indian reservation. His little sister, Daisy has a crippled leg. His grandpa helps him catch the monkeys that he wants to catch. To find out the rest you must read the book youself. Sarah
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!!! Then at Jay Berry finds a reward at his grandpa's store for monkeys! He then goes to the bottems to look for them. And yes he finds the monkeys! They trick him and get away with alot of things. Then Jay Berry finally catches the monkeys. Then he finds a fairy rind he wished upon. He gets the reward and wants a pony and gun, but what about his sister, Daisy??? She is always in alot more pain then Jay Berry is. Read this book and find out what happens!
Rating: Summary: "ADVENTURE BOUND" Review: The Summer of the Monkeys was a fascinating book. It left me wondering what else could've happened. Jay a talented boy sets out to do anything his heart desires. With the relationship he has with his grandfather, miracles are achieved. Great book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I teach sixth grade and the children loved this book! They also loved Where the Red Fern Grows. Both of these books are a must!
Rating: Summary: a touching adventure that shows the true value of family Review: Summer of the Monkeys tells the story of Jay Berry, a 14 year old boy from Oklahoma. The book covers his adventures one summer with a group of monkeys. Set in the late 1800's in the heart of the Cherokee Indian country, Wilson Rawls tells this coming of age story in which we can all relate. Rawls skill as a master story teller, which is evident in his other impressive work, Where the Red Fern Grows, comes through with characters for whom we relate. It is a tale of hope and sacrifice that we call learn from.

Rating: Summary: A hilarious story Review: If you like a good laugh, then you should read this book. It is also the best book that I have read. I have read it atleast 3 times already. The main character is a young boy who lives in the mountains and one summer a group of circus monkeys escape from the circus and are hiding in the mountains. There is a big reward for catching the monkeys and the boy spends the whole summer trying to catch the monkeys. The only problem is the monkeys are too smart to be caught. That is when the fun begins. I Hope you enjoy the book as much as I do.
