Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: I thought that Summer Of The Monkeys was the best book that I have ever read. I would give it five stars because the author gives you a lot of description and leaves you hanging wondering what is going to happen. He write the book so once you start you can't stop. In the book Jay Berry is hunting for monkeys that have escaped from the circus. The monkeys are so smart that they know what he is going to try to do to trap them. The monkeys are constantly wrecking his traps and his ideas. There is a reward for who ever catches the monkeys. The only thing he wants to buy with the reward is a pony and .22 (a gun). The reward is two hundred dollars. His sister has a disabled leg that she can't use, and it cost two hundred dollars to fix. His grandparents and parents think that it is more important to pay for her. He continues to hunt for the monkeys so that he can get the money. The more he hunts the more trouble the monkeys get him into. I do think it is the best book I have ever read. I think the author does a great job at leaving you hanging. Wilson Rawls' other great book is Where The Red Fern Grows. It is also a great book just like this one! I would highly recommend Summer Of The Monkeys to you.
Rating: Summary: Jay-Berry goes through many adventures to catch 30 monkeys Review: In Summer of the Monkeys, Jay-Berry Lee learns how to deal with his frustrations, his fears, and to preservere even though it seems that he has hit "rock-bottom" and it's impossible to go on. When he thought there was no other way to catch the monkeys, he'd still go back and try again. I learned from reading this book that you can never succeed if you don't try. If you fail the first time, you need to have the courage to try again. I feel that Summer of the Monkeys was a great book because it taught so much about moral values in addition to having a lot of excitement.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!~ IT'S A MUST-READ! Review: Even if you don't read much, this book is for you. I saw a few "bad" reviews but trust me, it's really good!~ I understand people have different opions, but to me this is a true classic that everyone should read!Everyone's pretty much desrcibed the book so I won't say anything to ruin the suspense of this great book! Every page has you wondering what'll happen next! If you have any questions, comments, or wants a book suggestion e-mail me at AshleyAACK@hotmail.com Jay Barry and his dog have lots of funny adventures with those monkeys! And there's his twin sister, Daisy who's crippled! His grandpa is mentioned a lot too. There's lots of cool chacaters including Jimbo the the smart monkey! I honestly didn't know if I'd like it, but I loved it! My librairian was always telling me to read it and I was like "Yeah Right!" But I'm glad I did! I should've read it sooner but anyhow it's a great book! Read it for yourself! Remember, you can't judge a book until you've read it!
Rating: Summary: A very corny book Review: SUMMER OF THE MONKEYS is a very corny book. The author tried to make the story seem real as if it were a true story. But to me it seemed like the story never could have really hapened. If the monkeys are worth so much money wouldn't the animal trainers start looking for the monkeys as soon as they saw that the monkeys were gone? Wouldn't Jay Berry try to communicate with the animal trainers once he saw the monkeys? Jay Berry wanted the money, but you would think that he would try to tell the animal trainers that he knew where the monkeys were. And he probably would have gotten the money any ways. At the end when the author tried to be touching and make Jay Berry seem so kind I felt like laughing because it was so silly and crazy. The dialect in this book is very fake. This is a book that I will never read again. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. If you like boy and his dog books, OLD YELLER is a very good one. It is about a boy who has to take care of his family for a few weeks while his dad is away earning money. Does anyone know about any book about girls and their dogs? I have read lots of boy and his dog books but I have never read a book about a girl and her dog.

Rating: Summary: Well- written and interesting Review: "Summer of the Monkeys" is a very well written book by Wilson Rawls who has written many books including Where the Red Fern Grows. In this book a 14year old boy named Jay Berry who lives in the Ozark mountains finds monkeys near the river bottoms. To catch the monkeys he must go through many funny and scary activites. The best part of the book is when he helps his sister. I think whoever reads this book will really enjoy it!
