Rating: Summary: HILARIOUS Review: When I first flipped through this book, I thought it would be confusing to read, since it's actually in e-mail format! The whole story takes place in e-mails between the characters! Boy was I wrong, though! It wasn't that hard at all and it made me laugh soooo many times! I actually felt so involved in the story, I seriously could not put it down! The basic storyline is pretty simple: twenty-something singleton girl is getting frustrated with finding Mr. Right and when she finally does find the guy she thinks is Mr. Right, he turns out to be decieving her and when that gets out, she ends all contact with the scum even though he has fallen totally and hopelessly in love with her (gets?). In this case, the girl is Mel Fuller, a journalist in New York City, who wakes up one morning to find that her 80 year old neighbor has been conked on the head and is in a coma. This leaves Mel with the job of taking care of the neighbor's pets while at the same time, trying to contact the neighbor's only living relative, her nephew, a smooth playboy photographer, named Max Friedlander, to take over the pet sitting. When she finally does contact Max, he contacts (or should I say E-MAILS) his old college aquaintance, named John Trent, to go to the apartment and pretend to be Max--while Max can get some hanky-panky done out in Key West with Victoria's Secret's latest Wonder Bra girl, a tall, skinny model named Vivica. At first John, a product of one of Park Avenue's prominent families (like the Kennedys) who wants to live a normal life as a crime reporter without touching any of the money in his trust fund, is hesitant, but ends up taking the task of being Max Friendlander until Max's aunt wakes or dies. And, as you've probably figured out by now, John moves in next door to Mel pretending to be Max and the two start to fall in love, but the real problem is John's big secret, which he is too scared to tell Mel and puts it off until it may just be too late. And, there's also a strange twist as to who conked Max's aunt on the head in the first place. This book is mainly for young girls, but it is hilarious to read, especially the unforgettable characters.
