Summary: a sweet little book
Review: I found this for my daughter (14 and we just moved--her boyfriend broke up with her and started seeing one of her friends from home--she's devestated!) I looked all over for a really good relationship book for girls and this is it. Really sweet, kind hearted and I loved the writer's style--thanks so much for helping my baby, it's nice to see her smil and say Mom, I'm SO over him! I'm planning to buy anything else this writer (I think it's a woman, but has a different name???? must be!!!) writes, but I haven't found much for my kids age group (her other books are for younger) Thanks!

Summary: I need to know !
Review: I got this book because it was the only thing about breaking up with someone. Theres lot of books on love and lots of love stories, but there isn't alot of stuff about how to make your relationship with guys work. I liked this book except I wish it had more about how you can be the one to do the breaking up with someone else. Does anyone know a book like that? I need help fast! I wrote to Seventeen but they havent answered yet and I have to do this before the endof the summer. Help!

Summary: the only thing that helped
Review: My boyfriend, I won't even say his name! broke up with me and *STILL* won't tell me why and won't even talk to me. I don't understand how you can love someone one day and then just not even care about them. This book was the *ONLY* think that understands it. I would get this for anyone who got her hart broke. I still hate him but I'm not crying over it anymore.

Summary: Easy to read and to relate to
Review: This is a great book for a girl who's just been dumped or has to get over a relationship, maybe for the first time. It's simple, direct and yet really insightful. Each chapter takes you through a different emotional stage, from the moment the break up first happens to that freeing day when you realize you've completely moved on. Even if you read the whole thing the day you're dumped, (and you can, it's short) you'll get that lightness by the end. That knowledge that, even if it doesn't feel this way right now, everything will be better. There's hope.
Also, this book does not talk down to teens.
It takes into account every crazy thing that goes through the head of a girl this age, and knows that some people's imaginations will go in one direction when they're down and others will go in a wildly different direction.
There is 'expert' advice. You know, Dr. Drew from 'Loveline', etc., but it's kept to a minimum, so you don't feel overloaded by it.
The best might be all the personal stories from other teens about thier own break ups (read: dumps)and how they got through it.
What's also great is, hearing what the 'dumpers' have to say for themselves. What was going through their head when they decided everything was over and they had to tell you.
Just a note:
I highly recommend this book to girls to give to their friends who are going through something like this. It shows you care and can say all the things you don't know how to say. And more.

Summary: Getting on with it
Review: This is a great read! All the personal stories make you realize you aren't alone in being dumped and give you great advice on how to cope with seeing the guy every day at school. I've been repeating that phrase "I am a hot tamale" ever since! (you'll have to read the book)
