Rating: Summary: "Random Shooting" Review: "Who Killed My Daughter?" is another great creation from Lois Duncan but only on a different level. This book is nonfiction with a frightening truth behind it. This story is based upon the real life happenings of Lois Duncan's very own daughter and incidences involved in this twisted tale of murder. It keeps you reading throughout the entire book without any low points besides the details given by psychics that tend to be confusing at times. In the story, it appears that her daughter (Kate) had been killed randomly in a "random" shooting. The police, private investigators and FBI cared the least about Lois Duncan's assumptions of murder rather than a random killing, Lois took matters into her own hands to begin her own studies on her daughters case. Randomly or not, this case needed to be solved one way or another. Lois used the psychics to attempt to figure out the actual reasoning for her death rather than leaving the situation unsolved, with her family to help her through the struggle. This book is very suspenseful and keeps you reading until the very tragic end. I highly recommend this book to readers of mystery and most Lois Duncan readers. I rate this book with 4 out of 5 stars because it's one of the most saddening, nonfiction books I have ever read that kept me reading the whole time.
Rating: Summary: Who Killed Her Sanity? Review: "I glanced down as [my hands] and was surprised to find them covered with blood. The knuckles had been jarred through the skin by the jolt of the staple gun." Who Killed My Daughter? is a suspense-filled non-fiction novel by Lois Duncan about her daughter's murder. The thrilling parts keep you reading, but in between those spots there are boring, confusing psychic readings and sections that will make you honestly believe that the author has gone nuts! I enjoyed the book to an extent. The problem is that it's unbalanced. The suspenseful parts keep you reading and flow well while just about everything else in between drags on for what seems like an eternity. To tell you the truth, the book os almost frustrating. You just want to yell at Lois Duncan for being so obsessed. Overall, I would recommend Who Killed My Daughter? because there's something about it that keeps you reading. But a few words of advice for Ms. Duncan: you should have just summarized the psychic readings! They make no sense and are boring.
Rating: Summary: "A jolting book" Review: "Who killed my daughter?" is a great book. Since I had already read "I Know What You Did Last Summer" I knew what to expect. But this book touched my heart as the author rummages for clues to Kaitlyn's death. A quest from which the author unleashed secrets which were shocking. A great book with the frightening apocalypses which give answers to a murder. It kept me glued to the book until I finished it.

This book is about discovering kaitlyns death and the secrets about her that nobody knew not even her parents.
I'm really not a reader, but this book is a page-turner. Once you start reading it you cant put it down. It's such an easy read that you can't fell the pages turning. I really think that this is a good book I recommend this book to everyone. The fact that the book is not that old makes it easy to understand. I mean this is a thru story so everything that is going on is common sense and it's the way you would react if it were to happened to you, so at the sometime you can relate to it. I rate this book the best because for a book to keep me interested all the way you know it must be really good. If you are looking for a non-fiction, easy to read, page-turner and all that good stuff this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Very sad story about the real life murder of Duncan's child Review: After having been a fan of Lois Duncan's young adult books all through my teenage years, I stumbled across this non-fiction account of the murder of her daughter. Terribly tragic story which still has no resolution...........
Rating: Summary: This book is trashy nonsense Review: First of all, let me start off by saying that I forced myself to finish this book. Lois Duncan is an excellent young adult novelist, but this try at non-fiction was in my opinion horrible. I'll give you a summary of the book first:The book opens up with the last night that Lois Duncan saw and spoke to her daughter, Kaitlyn Arquette. Kait was planning on going over to her friend Monica's house to hang out and eat dinner, and possibly stay over. Lois had a feeling that something was going to go wrong, and her instincts proved right. While she was driving home, at approximately one o' clock in the morning, a car pulled up to her and the driver shot her in the head two times. Kait was immedietly rushed to the hospital, where her parents were immediately notified. Kait didn't die right away- she was seriously injured, and the doctors said it would take a miracle for her to survive. Sadly, Kait passed away in July 1989. Determined to find out who killed her daughter, (hence the title) Lois Duncan sets out on a search to find Kait's killer. But the search wasn't simple at all- in fact, Lois and her family were even recieving death threats if they continued their search. Her search led her into Kait's shocking secret life and into suspecting people not possible. Lois Duncan's determination to find her daughter made this the high point of this book. Now let me say why I didn't like the book. First of all, Lois Duncan left the story like that without saying who Kait's killer REALLY was. I think it's kind of pointless to write a book describing your search for your child's killer, and then you leave the story wihtout even saying who did it. Maybe Duncan should have waited to find the killer BEFORE she wrote the story. At press time for the book, she still hadn't found Kait's killer. The second reason that I didn't like this book was because of all of those horrible phsychic readings- there are about twelve really boring long ones in this book. I don't know about you, but I found them to be boring and extremely hard to understand. They were irrevelent to the story and just made it more confusing. They were basically what ruined my enjoyment of this book. Last, I didn't like the story because it rarely had any excitement in it- it just dragged on and on, over 350 pages of nonsense. If you're bored and looking for a book to read to make you even more bored, maybe this book would be a good choice.

Review: i am a 15 year old girl from los angeles, ca. when i started this book i thought it was gunna be another dumb book, but this was a GREAT book. i could not put it down. i love murder stories and this by far tops them all. so if your into murders its a great and very touching story about a mom despretly tring to solve her daughters murder. i also love that the book was easy to understand so that people my age could understand what was going on.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I am thirteen years old and have read almost all of Lois Duncan's books. I wanted to know more about the author of my favorite books, so I was really interested in reading Who Killed My Daughter. I think this book was so sad. I'm so sorry for your terrible loss Lois. You show a motherly bond for your children that is just so strong. I really, really enjoyed reading this book. And I admire you for your courage throughout that terrible time.
Rating: Summary: This book gave me a lot to think about. Review: I could not put this book down until I finished it. It really pulled me into the story -- I could really feel the author's confusion and frustration at not being able to convince the authorities of the circumstances leading to her daughter's death. I was intrigued by the psychic readings, although they were often too confusing to me and I had to rely on the author's interpretations. I highly recommend this to anyone who has teenagers. It will scare you to death at what can (and does) happen if your children happen to get in with "the wrong crowd." I recommend reading this book twice -- once for entertainment and the second time you can piece things together a little better. A great book!!
