Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Heidi- the reveiw Review: This book was very interesting. It is about an orphan girl who is sent away to live with her Grandfather in the alms. She is very happy there making lots of friends. Then she is taken away by her mean aunt to be a playmate with a rich girl; who she later makes bossum friends with. But she returns after being incrediaby homesick. The ending is very happy and uplifting, also my favorite part. Everyone should read this book because it is a VERY VERY good book.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Clarification regarding this edition Review: This edition (Viking, 1996, illustr. by Rozier-Gaudriault, series=The Whole Story) is *not* abridged. In fact, it is the unabridged version of the first volume of Spyri's two books about Heidi. The margins (ala DK books) have pictures and explanations about the period, including period pictures and photographs of Frankfort in the 1880s.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: good book Review: this is a really good book it got me into classics trust me on this buy or checkout or whatever just READ THIS BOOK
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Bre's Review: This is one story that everyone should read. Beautifully and sensitively told, it is the story of a young girl named Heidi who is taken away from her grandfather on the alm and sent to be a companion to a young invalid girl. It teaches lessons about faith and patience in a manner that many Christian writers should take note of. It is not just simply a children's book, it is a book for grown-ups as well. A delight to read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great book; confusing editorial reviews Review: This is such a dear tale of a girl who charms and warms all with whom she comes in contact. There are simple, but profound, lessons of love and faith and hope in this story. It may seem too "sweet" for today's jaded youth, but I'd say it's the kind of book that can raise a child's view of life. Note: The editorial reviews at Amazon.com, however, are VERY confusing! I can't tell which version/edition the editorial is referring to, in many cases. This makes them less than helpful, to say the least.

Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not Very Good...... Review: This is the worst book I ever read. The story was realy long andit didn't make sense at all!I give it two star because there was avery good plot but thats not what makes a book good all the time.I could see how some people might like this book so,you should give thought after reading this reveiw.Remember what I said though because it could make a difference. (if you think you might like this book don't let me stop you)
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Very Special Book Review: This was my mother's favorite book. She was often not well and was a voracious reader. As an only child, I, too devoured books as fast as I could find them. My house then, as now, is a tribute to the written word. I was named after the book, so naturally I read it numerous times, dreaming that I was the heidi in the book, running through the alpine meadows...basking in the grouchy love of my gradfather..being one with the surroundings. It's such a sweet book..a book of love and hope and overcoming all odds for the ones you love. How can you not love it! I always fantasized about finding my own Peter to live happily ever after with...running through fields, well, you get the idea.... Alas, the only Peter I ever found was a long-haul trucker with deprived teeth, seven piercings (two in places I cannot attest to) and tattoos from head to toe who played Aerosmith and Waylon Jennings as loud as he could. My God! My price has come!. Well, NOT!. Ah well. The search continues! By all means read the book to your children..or to yourself. It's worth the effort. It's nice to read books that leave you with a smile on your face.
