Summary: OF MICE AND MEN
Review: Dontae Sizer Of MICE AND MEN is about two stangers who lived in Soledad California in the 1930's. George and Lennie didn't have a home. Where ever they worked is where they slept at. George didn't have a family,but he is real street smart. On the other hand, Lennie was diffrent. HE was mentaly retarded, tall, strong and had only one person in his life,his Aunt Clara. Before his Aunt Clara died she asked George to look after Lennie for her, and George and Lennie been together every since then. The problem that George had is he is walking around with a mentally retarded person who forgets almost every thing you tell him, and who only is good for picking heavy things up. Two other people in the book were poorly developed, but to me it was interesting.I Liked it because I undersood the vocabulary
I heard somebody with the same problem before, like taking care of a person who gives you hell. In the begining of the novel, George didn't care for Lennie. He was just keeping his promise he made to Lennies Aunt.At the end it was like Lennie was a brother George never had. Thats another reason why I like the book because of the endind.It feel like you been in tht situation before,it's like I was in George place before.

Summary: My favorite book of all time
Review: While I enjoy huge sprawling novels, the stories I like best are lean and short. Not allowing subplots or extraneous characters to bog down the main story. This is one of those stories. Set in the depression, the novel is the story of George and Lennie. Lennie is "slow" and depends on George to do the right thing. This dependence leads to the grievous, yet inevitable, ending. I don't enjoy this work as much as I could say it is one of the most moving stories I've read. I think this is superior to The Grapes of Wrath. This is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.

Summary: One of the best book I have read.
Review: Overall, John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men is really a good book. Even though it's rather short, it
delivers its message quite well. The book opens with George and Lennie near the Salinas River
south of Soledad, California. Lennie is a big, loveable guy who isn't very smart, but is easily
pleased. Lennie loves to stroke soft things, and has a mouse in his hands that he accidentally
killed by petting it too hard. Lennie's portrayal is extremely sympathetic and sentimental, but I couldn't help but like him, regardless of his flaws. George is the little man behind Lennie; he acts
as the big man's brain in guiding him and keeping him out of trouble. We all has someone like
George to keep us out trouble from time to time. The two travel and work together and have a
friendship unlike anything most other characters in the novel have ever experienced. The book
really got me to feel like I knew the characters, especially Lennie, and you begin to feel like your
in the story with the characters. The underlying theme of man's innate loneliness and his need for
companionship is a bit dark and pessimistic for my taste, but is delivered tactfully with the
repeated story of George and Lennie's farm where Lennie will be able to tend rabbits while the
two live off the fatta the lan' offers hope so the book can be easily stomached by someone with a
more optimistic worldview. I do have to say this is one of the best book I have read. All things
considered, I would definitely recommend this book for everyone to read; the ideas behind it
should be considered by all.

Summary: Steinbeck, the American Author of the Depression
Review: This is a classic that has lasted through the years about the common fellow trying to reach for the American Dream. Steinbeck's style of writing uses a low-educated vernacular that really shows how the people struggle. The book is beautiful and bittersweet. In fact, it may just be bitter. There are humorous parts far and in between, but the basic plot is just sad. It is about two friends who are traveling to find a job. One is retarted, Lennie, and his friend George must take care of him. Lennie is stronger than he realizes and has a history of accidentally killing animals because he likes the way they feel soft but when he disciplines them for biting him, he ends up killing them. He carries around dead mice in his pockets, and George always makes him throw them out. They finally find work at a ranch with Curley, a mean guy who likes to pick fights, and his deprived and attention-loving wife, who is just identified as "Curley's wife." She is seductive, and George warns Lennie not to get involved with her because Lennie has a history of losing jobs by doing something stupid. It's a short but powerful novel. It should be read by all young adults. NOTE TO WISE ONE: WHY DID YOU WRITE 48 DIFFERENT REVIEWS, PRETENDING TO BE DIFFERENT PEOPLE EACH TIME? Review: Reading the book Of Men and Mice was a very interesting. The novel catches the reader once they open the book. Personally I have nothing in common with the characters from the story. While reading this story I became very interested in the Great depression and the migrant workers having a hard time trying to live. To anyone who wants to read a fictional story based on the Great Depression they should go and read Of Mice and Men. This novel isn't just about the depression its about two people who are total opposites and stick together to find jobs because they don't have any one else to be with. The book has a lot of events that happen all because one of the two men is very slow, so neither of them could keep a job long enough to save money. Even though you might not interested in reading stories on the Depression you should still read this novel because the events in the story will make you want to read this book. This book shows a lot of feelings that the two men show to each other. They show love and friendship. This story will be very interesting whether your young or old, this book is for everyone.

Summary: The Good and Bad of Of Mice And Men...Part 2
Review: Continuing on from my last review...
Personally, I'm glad that my English teacher (thanks Ms. Farvour)made us read Of Mice And Men because it taught me, and probably my fellow students, about what life was like sixty, seventy years ago, and what people had to go through just to get and maintain and job, if they could even get one. I think that Steinback does a nice job of writing about how life wasn't only hard for white Americans, but also how life was difficult for African Americans. Racism...you've probably heard the word before, but, unless you've even experienced it, you don't really know what it is...well...John writes about it in this book, and I'm glad he did. Steinbeck describes (not always in a nice manner...if you know what I mean...language)what kind of abuse, both verbally and physically, Crooks (the African American "stable buck") is put through, and, although it was kind of hard to read sometimes, he wrote about the truth. Racism has been, and still is a major problem in America, and it is still a humungous (don't mind my spelling of that word) Social Issue.
Well...all in all, as if I haven't said this enough, I think that author John Steinbeck wrote a good good book, and I encourage you to, at one point or another in your life, pick up this book and read it. It may not involve alot of action, or adventure, or mystery, but, it does involve reality, and it well teach you alot about history. Sincerley Always,

Summary: Of Mice and Men
Review: i absolutely LOVED this book. i was assigned to read it for a school report, and i must admit, when i first recieved the assignment i thought it was going to be a very boring book. However, as i was reading it, i grew to love it. I began to feel as if i knew the characters personally. I began to feel their triumphs and their tragedies, their hardships and their accomplishments. The two main characters, George and Lennie, are best friends and travel together. Lennie is mentally challenged and relies on George for everything. George openly accepts this responsibility and in turn relies on Lennie for someone to talk to. Lennie and George could be seen as the two parts of one man. George is the mind; Lennie is the body. Neither can exist apart; to kill either half is to kill the whole. I was so engrossed in the book and the characters' lives that by the time that i reached the suprising, dramatic last few pages of the book, i was crying. The last few pages are very sad and show how much they really care for each other. In a final act of love, George does something for Lennie that truly shows how much he cares for him. I will never forget this book, and it has left me with a lasting message about friendship and love. Thank you for reading this review, and I hope that I have encouraged you to read this book.

Review: Book Review Join stein beck did a very good job on recreating the conditions that migrant workers went through. I believe that because the characters had to live in a little shack with bunks to live in. They were also really poor. They also had really bad clothing and they did not have any money. They also did not have any manners. Stein beck characters were believable because they talked a lot like there wasn't any law. They were also poor like in the old days because there wasn't a lot of money and most people had to work. But they did not work at all. People like curly felt like they own every thing and every body. And that they owned lots of land. There were people like George who looked after people and who cared. He also liked to work and also to get lots of money. He also wanted to be rich someday.
Of Mice and Men is a good book for younger people because it teaches them the right thing about life and the way other people do things. It also tells how people were not as mannered as there were in the 1930's but knows. Some people are mannered. This story is racism because crook is black and none of the other guys will let him play because he is black. This social issues that it speaks for is racism because there are black people and the white people treat them different. Candy won't let crook play cards with them or he won't let him play horseshoes either. It also teaches that people don't treat other people with respect. They are just mean to people and don't think about other people's feeling.

Review: I had this book to read for a project in school. and i think it is a good book which teaches alot to young adults. it teaches so much about the great depression age. the main charters are Geogre and Lennie. they travel together to survive the great depression age.The Lesson it teaches is that we the people should all be theated equaly.Something else I might add is steinbeck did a Good Job recreating the 1930's. He also had in-depth detail about the charters. and they where real. The Social Issues it has racsim and animal abuse and many more.I would reccomend you read this book.

Summary: Of Mice and Men
Review: I thought this book was good. I liked how he made the people talk with a western accent, but some things that they said I couldn't really understand. I liked the way Steinbeck created the chartacters and their personality traits. He made them all different and they all had their own personality, and it sounded like this was a true story. I think he did a good job explaining the plot, and it was cool because I could actually imagine being in that area that he was talking about. Steinbeck also did a good job explaining the time period. In the 1930's people would usually be walking around from ranch to ranch to find good jobs. This novel is a good book to read for young aduls because it makes your imagination really flow, and it teaches a lot of stuff like, people with mental illnesses need special help, and treat others the way you want to be treated. There is one social issue that I am familiar with in this book, and it is racism. Racism takes place in the book when the black guy (Crooks) is not allowed to play poker with the other guys because he is black. Now I understand a little more about the past and what it was like, and the way I learned it was in a fun way.
