Rating: Summary: I have not yet read this book Review: Look, if you don't have something nice to say about Bonnie Bryant, please, don't say anything at all. I happen to like the Pine Hollow series because I was getting impatient for the girls to grow up and experience the real world. If you would like to e-mail me with some comments my address follows. P.S. I give all of Bonnie Bryant's books five stars whether I've read them or not.
Rating: Summary: Not enuff about horses Review: Okay, I'm a diehard horse book lover. Htere's too much other stuff in these but i gueess some readers like that. Can anyone answer me this question--does Bonnie B write all these books plus SAddle Club? How can she? A really cool mystrey (With LOADS of horse stuff) is SHadow Horse by Alison Hart. I read it five times!
Rating: Summary: Boring! Review: Please, make the torture stop! You've heard of authors not developing their characters enough? Well this one over develops her characters to come off as a good writer. The whole book is repitition with most of the paragraphs begining with "on the other hand". Yuck. If you cut out all the parts that were basically repeating something from an earlier book or the same book, this book would be 50 pages instead of 264. I'm so tired of the same old problems. There is no purpose to Carole and Lisa's fight, just the author trying to make her book interesting. The plot is boring and horrible, and this book is on my used bookstore shelf. I'll say it again, this book was so boring and predictable (I could have told you what was going to happen in the whole book by reading the first couple of pages) that you should not waste your money. I thought this series was getting better. Oh groan! Oh, and this book is nowhere near an accurate portrayal of teen life. If it was, these girls would be much more involved in High School, in fact, they wouldn't have much time to do anything else. Okay, I don't have enough room to say how bad this book is. If you're still not convinced, email me or something.
Rating: Summary: more horses Review: The pine Hollow series is not as good as the Saddle Club, I'm sorry if I sound picky, but theres just not enough things about horses. And more about boys.
Rating: Summary: Okay, but it could've been better Review: The Pine Hollow series is pretty good, but I'd appreciate the problems to be solved during the story and not leave me hanging! And what's this whole thing about AJ?Carole's also too involved with the horses to be able to take a test and not cheat!Poor Ben is stuck in the middle.I love horse stories, but these stories seem to be more about boys than horses.(Not that there isn't a time and place for boys)And Stevie is judging Ben without even knowing him!The former Saddle Club needs to get a clue!I'll probably read the next book in the series because I'm interested in finding out how Bonnie Bryant's going to untangle this mess!
Rating: Summary: Conformation faults Review: This book was quite good- ties up some loose ends. However as the book progresses I started to hate Carole more and more. She would have to be the most annoying character. Also I think that information from saddle club books should be the same in Pine Hollow. An example is the problem with prancer- we were told that this would never happen.
Rating: Summary: Excellence! Review: This is a wonderful series that really deals truthfully about the trials and tribulations of life as a teenager. I praise Bonnie Bryant for really hitting the mark! Though this series does not contain many horse stories or youthfully mischevious adventures, it shows how the main characters deal with not having the necessary time to see and care for their horses. As for the mischevious adventures, they all have grown up, which means that they have become more responsible, and realistic about choices, decisions and relationships. I have read the Saddle Club series, and the story-lines were much less complicated, and often almost unrealistic. Pine Hollow is a wonderful interpretation and portrayal of adolesence!
Rating: Summary: These new and old series are terrific! Review: Way to go, Bonnie Bryant! I am writing this with my two friends, Michelle and Stacey. We all love the Saddle Club, and now Pine Hollow! We all ride together near Toronto, Ontario. I think you should bring back the horse-stuff into Pine Hollow, but that doesn't mean I don't like how they are growing up. Please!!!! Tell us what's happening with A.J.! Don't forget the horses, or Ben Marlow. One thing though, could you please have Stevie and Lisa being involed at the stable, cause it's not just Carole who is horse-crazy! We're from Canada, so it'd be really cool if Carole , Stevie, Lisa (and maybe Alex) could take a trip and come 'up here'. Anyways, thanks for writing, we love it! And viewers, if you want to send in your opinion, be nice! Keep writing B.B., cause we'll keep buying! Krysta, Michelle, and Stacey. (Lisa, Carole, and Stevie)
