Summary: So mote it be
Review: Kate finds a book on spells, and, after doing one, everything becomes a royal MESS. She gets asked out by her crush Scott, of course, but soon she is bieng asked out by LOTS of boys. And, her friendship with her friends are falling apart. They are demanding answers that she is unable to give without saying the truth. She seeks the help of Annie Crandall and Cooper Rivers, fellow peers that are not very popular because she notices that they both checked out the book of spells before her. The thing is, will Kate, Cooper, and Annie be able to get out of this mess...together?
Okay, so i admit, i wasn't very ecstatic about reading this. I wasn't very interested in reading a book about a dabbler girl. But, me bieng me, i decided to take the chance. It was a LOT better than i thought it would be. And, surprisingly enough, it told actual TRUTHS about the Wiccan religion...and, of that, i was happy.

Summary: An excellent read for young adults
Review: Finally, a book that portrays Wicca in a positive and truthful look. Instead of reading about teens conjouring up the devil, this book reveals Wicca for what it is and is not! I bought the series for my 11yo daughter. I read them first to make sure they were age appropriate and positive. All of the characters deal with things that teenagers deal with. Annie, Kate and Cooper are all positive role models for teen girls. Tyler also shows teen boys in a positive light. The girls deal with a multitude of difficulties during their year and a day but with the help of friends and returning to the teachings of Wicca, they come out on top. My daughter says these books are "really cool"...not bad coming from a non-reader!

Summary: So-So
Review: This series is not all I hoped it to be. There are quite a few subliminals on trends for today. The storyline seems fairly decent, but a person can only take so much of those lines in between like "Ooo! Isn't this dress great! It makes me look just Britney Spears!" and "No, no. Green certainly isn't your color. You don't want to look too much like Christina Aguilera." I did, however, enjoy about 50% of the story...and I like that a fair amount of truth with Wicca came out in this book. (i.e.:Maypole Festivities). If you're looking for a really great new series of books based on Paganism/Wicca or supernatural, the I'd suggest Cate Tiernan's SWEEP series books.

Summary: The Beginning of Something
Review: Kate and several classmates forget to come up with a topic for their history papers. So their teacher passes a box around and they draw topics. Kate ends up with "witchcraft persecutions". While in the library, she sees a boy she likes and knocks over several books; she picks them up and takes whatever she can to the librarian. When she gets home, she finds a book of spells. It is all too tempting. And the results...not what she thought they would be. Her only hope--that someone else who checked it out will be able to help her. Enter Annie, a smart girl with a knack for science. Then comes Cooper, the rebellious musician. And with a little advice from local coven members, they have a chance to make things right again. But of course none of it is ever going to be the same. Isobel Bird presents three very realistic characters to face a lot of uncertainties in their lives. Several readers will skip this series because it deals with Wicca and witchcraft. But it is a mistake. Magick is just a tool to unite the characters in their search for identity.

Summary: Good book for young teens...
Review: I felt that this book and the series in general is a good description of young wiccans growing up. I find the info on Wicca to be accurate. Don't judge the series just by this book, it gets better and quickly exits the realm of Nubbie wicca into a mature place. Enjoy! Ember

Summary: Parents of Wiccan Teens should read this series.
Review: I couldn't believe it when I found this series in a bookstore in an airport. I was just there to kill time waiting for my next flight, when I spotted the books. I bought one and was immediately swept off my feet. It's not great litterature, but it is great teen fiction. It is also a realistic portrayal of modern day witchcraft, not hollywood mumbo jumbo but reall day to day Wicca! I was flabberghasted by the accuracy and tenderness displayed in the novel. When my travels took me back to that airport, I made a B-line for that bookstore. I bought the first seven books (they did not have book 8 and I believe 9, 10, and 11 have not yet been published.) I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I highly recommend it for teen pagans (you aren't alone!) and their parents. Start a discussion with your parents today, give them this book before you come out of the broom closet.

Summary: It was great!
Review: I thought this book was great. The characters in this story seemed so real to me. It was a real page turner. I found myself wanting to know more each chapter. I wished that the book was longer. Luckily there are other books out to read. Because I liked the first one so much I decided to get all of them. I am in a book club. For the book club we picked Circle of Three So Mote it Be. Everyone said they really enjoyed it. I think this book is great for both sexes because it talks about witch craft and my brother really enjoys it. So if you are looking for a great book get Circle of three! You'll love it******

Summary: Really Great!!!
Review: Ok, so maybe a few people wouldnt agree with the plot or so considering the threefold law as well as the an it harm none do as ye will law. But if you read it and grasp it, it shows you to take Wicca seriously and not fool around with it. It proves the threefold law to be right when not so good things begin happening to Kate, So, maybe the rats in Annes house was a bit fantasy like but overall the book is good, and gives Wicca and Witchcraft a new perspective. I loved it and recommend it to everyone. =)

Summary: Wiccan hype as a writer's cash cow
Review: Appealing to teenage wannabes who don't know authentic from inauthentic information, this book is about some ding-a-ling teenybopper's first spell, a love spell, that makes her the most sought-after girl in her school. Yeah, right. This books presents Wicca and Paganism in a shallow light, and the the author seem particularily knowledgeable about either.

Summary: For those who like t.v.'s Charmed........
Review: Kate is just an average girl, until she is assigned a report on the history of witchcraft. By mistake she checks out a book of spells from her school library, and becomes intrigued by one that will make a boy she likes fall in love with her. On a whim she tries the spell and is very surprised when it works. Unfortunately it works too well and ALL the boys at school start notice her.

Seeking help to put a stop to something that is quickly growing out of her control, Kate meets two new friends: Annie and Cooper. Although they are all novices at witchcraft, together they try to figure a way out of the mess Kate has created.

This story is told from the point of view of Kate, who is not always the most likeable of characters. Annie and Cooper are wonderful foils for Kate though. All three girls are VERY different, yet it is very easy to relate to them. The strength of this book, however, comes in the treatment of witchcraft. I really liked how it was presented in a normal, non-threatening, non-scary way. While not as good Cate Tiernan's Sweep series, this novel is a good read that goes by very quick and leaves wanting the next book. Recommended.
