Rating: Summary: It was the best book! I couldn't put it down... Review: I read this book a year or so ago (not that I haven't read it a few times since) and like everyone else, I cried at the end. I agree with the girl who felt Jenny wasn't stupid. The decision she made was very hard for her. I liked Julian a lot, but I don't think people are giving Tom enough credit. He was egotistical in the beginning, but like everyone else in the book, he changed. He realized what was important in life and he was willing to do anything for Jenny, too, (does anybody remember how he walked through fire for her in the second book?) Jenny's decision wasn't the whole point of the book anyway. Like someone said, it was about what love can do for us. Besides that, it was about friendship. It showed what true friends were, people who stick by you no matter what, like Jenny's friend's did, people you can count on. This book is full of important lessons (and it's fun and exciting to read!) I'd recommend it to anybody
Rating: Summary: The best of the trilogy Review: When Julian took Tom and Zach to the Shadow world, Jenny was determined to follow and bring them back. Now she and her friends, Audrey, Dee and Michael, have come to her Grandfather's house to search for a way into Julian's Realm. But when they find themselves in Joyland Park, the amusement park Jenny loved as a kid, it seems their plan hasn't worked. However, like everything else in the Shadow World, nothing is as it seems and soon the four are involved in a treasure hunt for three Gold coins that will allow them to rescue Tom and Zach."The Kill" is the third and final instalment in the Forbidden Game. Having read all three, I have to say it's also by far the best of the series. The action is non-stop, and the way Julian's character changes is beautifully written. I loved him from the start but especially so in The Kill. Apart from the Shadow Man himself, the other characters are all very realistic, different and likeable. The author did a fantastic job with all three books in the trilogy. There is a perfect mix of fantasy, action and romance in this series and sometimes the books are genuinely scary. The ending was so sad, but so perfect too. Julian still is, and always will be, one of my favourite literary characters. The Forbidden Game trilogy are far superior to most teen books around. This will remain one of my favourite books for a long time yet, despite having read it about fifty times in three years. I would recommend this to any one who read the two previous books in the series.
Rating: Summary: be prepared to cry Review: In the trilogy of the Forbidden game i thought that the first and third were the best books I've ever read, and although the second was good it didnt even compare to these. I thought the game was great but if I were jenny I'm afraid I would miss out on it because one look and a few words from Julian and I would run away with him straight away. The books were made to be so real that I'm still searching for my own door, call me sad but you have to admit if Julian wanted you, you wouldn't be able to resist!
Rating: Summary: A really fantastic book Review: This is just another of L.J. Smith's great books! But the ending was sooo sad!!!!! Jenny and her friends are trying to get back Tom and Zach by going into the Shadow World. They end up in a Shadow park, Joyland. Will Jenny, Dee, Audrey, and Micheal get Zach and Tom back? Will Julian ever get the one thing he's always wanted from Jenny, her love? Read the book and find out! I didn't completely like that Jenny had the I.Q. of cheez wiz, but oh well. She said something and stuck to it. You have to admire that and that she never gave up or gave in. If ya ever wanna talk about books, IM me or e-mail me at flutterbye2006@aol.com!
Rating: Summary: the wickedest book in the world!!! Review: this book was the best! i just read it again (for about the hundredth time *S*) and i cried as much as when i read it the first time. is it just me... or was julian the hottest character?!? wow!!! why on earth did jenny choose tom over julian? tom was nice yeah, but he was kinda boring and plain. julian was so compelling and seductive, i wish he was real! forget about jenny, if he wanted a girl that could appreciate him... *S* i'm not obsessed with him or anything, and i know he's just fiction, but LJS has created a truly unforgettable character. the endind of this book was soooo sad! when julian died i was crying so much. at the beginning he was the typical "bad guy," but at the end he proved himself worthy. he actually gave up his existance (can't say life can i?) to save jenny. that is true love. and that is what i want! that jenny was a lucky girl. and i'm really glad that summer wasn't dead, she was kind of an air head, but she seemed nice. that novel has given me so much adrenaline (which i know is weird), i just want to shout out to the world how great the novel was. i'd really like a sequel. i wish julian could come back but i know that's not possible. but imagine the story! *S* did anyone else love the poem in the hunter? i typed it up and put it in my locker i loved it that much. it was really good. and i loved the "all i refuse and thee i chuse" thing. that was so romantic. did anyone else like this trilogy as much as i did? i liked it better than the dark visions one and the night world series (though both r just excellent! ash is a close second after julian, and thierry is a close third after ash and ...*S*) though i haven't read the secret circle or the vampire diaries cause i can't find them! if anyone knows where i can get them please email me! and if anyone wants to chat about LJS and how great her books r then email me! i always reply. also, has anyone else noticed that LJS creates the perfect male heroes? strong and romantic, yet with a bad side too. i just loved julian (as i've been saying throughout this whole response *S*), ash, thierry, gabriel, rob, etc. her females characters r okay too, they're incredibly lucky! and though this doesn't concern the forbidden game trilogy, does anyone else feel like mary-lynette's and ash's story isn't over? i really want to find out what happens to them. cause sure they found each other, but they're not together. ash said he would come back i a year. and i want to find out what happens. ash is featured in a lot of other night world books so maybe if we're lucky... *S* anyways, i was reading this girls's response on how this trilogy should be turned into a movie and i totally agree!!! it has a wicked plot. i think i've written enough so i'll end this now. but like i said before, always looking for new LJS email pals so if anyone is interested email me! that's it, bye. Unity, Lily (yes i have that evil girl's name *S*)
Rating: Summary: Wonderful only change the ending Review: I read the first two books of the trilogy and I felt in love with Julian. There was not enough of him in the book. This part which I really hope is not the last cause I want Julian back was good but I had my hopes that Jenny would choose Julian over Tom. Tom was such a boring guy. I cried when Julian Died. Well it did not matter that it wasnt such a good ending because I had the pleasure to read about bad boy Julian.
Rating: Summary: Awakened Review: This was the first LJS book I ever read and it awakened me. Never before had I realised what a book could truly do to a person. This, the final book of the Forbidden Game trilogy, really gives the reader an insight to all the characetrs. It shows how they have developed, especially Julian. It also brings out different feelingsof the main characetr, Jenny. She learns so much about Julian and learns to understand. This book is definatly the most important and is a wonderful way to end the trilogy. This is my favourite book, only challenged by other of L J Smith's works. She is an amazing woman and it is well worth reading her stuff.
Rating: Summary: Decent conclusion to a great series Review: In the final book in The Forbidden Game Trilogy Jenny and her friends cross over into the shadow world to rescue Tom, her boyfriend, and Zach, her cousin. Once they enter the shadow world a new and even more deadly game begins because in this world, their nightmares are more real than ever. Trapped in a demonic carnival they are at the mercy of not only Julian, but all the other frightening creatures of the shadow world. Will Jenny and her friends all make it out or have they bitten off more then they can chew? I was fairly pleased with the conclusion to the series although the ending was a bit disappointing. This is probably the most well written book out of the three. I nearly cried during some of the scenes. I was also happy that Michael got some character development at last. Actually the characters in general were handled very well, especially Julian. Besides the slightly disappointing ending, the only other complaint I have is that it was far too short. The first book in the series still remains my favorite but this one comes in at a very close second. I highly recommend this series.
Rating: Summary: Need to give it like 100 stars! Review: WEll this is actually a review for all 3 books but I'm writting it on the last one so I don't ruin the first two. These three books were so well written. Everything in them was real. I know in the first two I was afraid to walk where I could see a shadow. But L.J.Smith made everything in the final book, where as now I am not afraid of anything and almost feel protected by shadows. In Book one Jenny is looking for a game to play at her boyfriends, Tom's, birthday party. Scared into a mysetious shop she purchases and odd box. The players begin and are swept into a differnet world...the shadow world. Each one has to face their own fear, Ultimately with Julain, the Shadow Man( in love with Jenny and kinda like the devil) playing the part of the antagonist. Through bravery trickery all but one of the players leave. In Book two Jenny and her friends become swpet into a deadly game of cat and mouse. Julian is leaving little clues about who he will take next. But he isnt playing fairly, hes leaving the clues to late or acting to quick upon them. IN the end Her cousin Zach and Tom are stuck in the other world. Book three(my fav) Her,Micheal,Audrey and Dee are in over there heads when the willingly enter the Shadow World to save Zach and Tom. They run into a game, actually a treasure hunt. It's in a hallucination of a theme park Jenny used to go too. You see a whole different side of Julian, a side I fell in love with because it was such a contrast.Well that's all im going to say about the third since most people reading this havent read it yet.
Rating: Summary: Should i laugh or should i cry???
