Rating: Summary: Beautiful, but. . . Review: It was a beautiful book, how Allegra came to terms with her great grandmother's tragedy and a dancing man's song while she worked on Mozart's 4th violin concerto for a prestigious Bloch Competition, but the ending was kind of cheesy. It was nice that the author didn't make the outcomes of the competition obvious, but I would've expected a little more suspense and dragging out of the decisions made by the judges. With Steve Landauer, no one is THAT good or quietly weird, but Wolff had a good description of him, and you grow to love Allegra and even feel as though Mr. Kaplan is your own violin teacher. I play violin myself, and I know how she feels. I should also acknowledge that the author actually told the truth about the Kreutzers, and didn't make it up. Very accurate, and I loved the little musical sections.
Rating: Summary: I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: It was a really great book. It had something for everyone: romance, social issues, music, everything. Whatever age you are, you will be able to relate to Algaira, a 12 year old. You will laugh with her, cry with her as you are drawn into this irresistible book. I totally sugest reading it!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: An inspirational book Review: Omg, this book is DA BOMB. It's my favorite book in the world. It relates to me so well. I am a violinist, and working on Mozart concerto #4, even though I am not planning to enter any compitions. If you are a violinist, it is a MUST read book. Even a musician. It will totally relate to you. It is such an inspiration. I read it every day, so I almost have the book memorized. And I don't ever get sick of it because there are all these details that Ms. Wolff put in there that you didn't read before. It is definitly, (in my opinion) the best book ever written.
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: The Mozart Season is about a girl named Allegra preparing for a ciolin contest. She is a very interesting person. As she is working, she finds many other things.
Rating: Summary: The Mozart Season Review: There are those sorts of books that you read and never can quite get out of your mind for a long time after. That's what happened when I first read "The Mozart Season". The beautifully described story of Allegra Shapiro and her experiences as an accomplished violin player will stick with you as a distinguised young adult novel. The simple but clearly described scenery, perfect dialogue and defined characters are all wrapped into this novel giving it a cozy relaxed feeling that writers strive for. "The Mozart Season" is about a young violin player who has been accepted into the prestigious Ernest Bloch compitition. Through her experiences of preparing for the event, we are able to look into a slice of Allegra Shapiro's life. We know her feelings yet we get the outsiders chance of seeing how much she grew from the experience and how the music speaks to her. I highly suggest this piece of art, beautifully constructed after five years of work by the author Virginia Euwer Wolff. You don't have to be a musician to appreciate how magnificant this story is.
Rating: Summary: The waltz tree Review: This book caught me from page one. It is, as I said, inspiring. Allegra is a character who is easy to relate to for anyone with a passion, or anyone who sings or plays music. This heartwarming tale tells of how she "becomes one" with Mozart's Fourth Violin Concerto, so she can play it in a competition. Allegra must give up almost everything "fun" about her summer vacation to develop her own style, and to discover part of her inner self and others as well. An excellent read!

Rating: Summary: More about violin Review: This book is good for everybody to read. And I hope there're more novels talking about violin and music.
Rating: Summary: Great book... so good, I can't explain in a sentence! Review: This book showed some great perspectives in what a twelve- year old thinks about. Allegra Shapiro finds out early in the summer that she has made it into a competition for young musicians. So Allegra has to learn a piece by Mozart on her violin over the summer and play it perfectly, her way, better than anyone else for the competition. But she has other things to do, like set things straight with a strange singer and help a poor man find his lost music, plus find time to enjoy the summer.
I would really reccomend reading this book. The authour explains everything clearly and in a way that is wonderfully unique.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good for musicians Review: This is a book about a young girl who is playing in a violin competition. It's good, espicially for people who are into music, but it can be boring at times.
