Summary: If you don't know what it's like inside, you soon will!
Review: This book is definitly a one nighter, and for those who enjoy John's other titles, this one is a must to read. I don't want to say to much else, so read or you don't know what you are missing out on.

Summary: Excellent but confusing
Review: I thought this book was really fascinating and unique, although it was rather short. However, I was so confused in connection with the ending if ANYONE has an idea of what happened please email me! I would recommend this book to anyone. Yu're in for a lot of surprises!

Summary: EXCELLENT!
Review: WOW, this is the best book I have ever read. What a great writer John Marsden is. Being a penpal myself, and writing like Tracy and Mandy, I can relate to this book very well. I like it how it is set in Australia too. *****

Summary: Long Lasting Effect On The Mind
Review: I thought this is John Marsden's most intriguing book. I've read Checkers and So much To Tell You. I thought this book did the best job in terms of holding the reader's attention and keeping the reader in suspense, hoping each time to know more about each girl. I love and hate the ending though. I hate it because after getting so personally involved in the lives and thoughts of 2 ficticious characters I end up clueless and helpless to know what has gone wrong. But then I love it precisely because of this feeling that it gives me. This is better than most of the adult fiction that I've read. It's a long-lasting dose of impact.

Summary: This book is very interesting and compelling for the reader.
Review: I think that this book is the kind of book every teenager should read just beacause of the fact that it proves that you shouldn't always take things for face value and that there is usually something more in a person than what you see at first. You have to look deeper and realize that lives aren't always what they seem to be.

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: Mandy is an average girl who sees an ad for a pen-pal in a magazine. So she decides to give it a go. Soon, she and Tracey are good friends, but Mandy has the feeling there is something not quite right about Tracey. She has the perfect family, boyfriend, life...but something is going on, and Mandy won't stop until she finds out what. This book drags you in further and further untill BANG!!! You discover that Tracey is not as she seems...The ending is a bit of a disappointment for those who like knowing exactly what happened, but if you like thinking of all the strange possiblities then this book is for you. A great read!

Summary: Marsden's Selective Details Paint Vivid Picture
Review: What I most enjoyed about this compelling book is the way Marsden chose very specific details to illuminate the characters and their situations. The ending is disapointing at first -- it always is when you want to know exactly what happened. The book is so strong because Marsden knows exactly what details to leave out. I highly recommend it.

Summary: I know what happened!!!!!
Review: I love this book! I was dissipointed with the end at first but I finally realized what happened! I don't want to give it away, but for those of you who read it--read Mandy's last letter and the dream Tracy has twards the end!!!

Summary: Gripping and well written book for teens and adults
Review: I read this book because I am interested in the juvenile justice system, in writing letters, and because I write for this age group. I very much liked the gritty nature of this book and thought the ending was brilliant. Instead of being told what happens, I was thrust into the character's shoes, experiencing just what she would have. I took the book to juvenile hall today to share with the girls I work with as a volunteer. These girls don't read regularly but the subject matter fascinated them. I'm anxious to hear what they think of it.
