Summary: Violet Eyes Is One Of The Best!!!!
Review: Angel Eastland has everything, friends, shes really smart and athletic, but she has a rival whom she didn't even met. Mike Vallent. Hes smart, handsome, and has violet eyes, just like her. They meet near the river where they were playing a game. Mike seems to take an intrest in her, but she thinks of him as an enmey. But in gym they are forced to become partners in badmitten, they beat everyone, the coach insisits that they go into competive compotition, maybe in the olypics! They dont want to be partners, but work very well togather, knowing what the other is thinking. Nautrally though sparks fly and they start to love each other. Once the compotion starts a balck out turns out and gun shots flair, looking for them both, they have no idea why.
A couple days later Mike turns up missing. Angel then finds out that her parents are not her parents, that shes living in the 1980's instead of 2095. She finds cameras everywhere, in her house and in her school. She goes to the school and smashs all of the cameras and holds all the very rare and expesive computers as randsom, making the head of this operation spill his guts. Then she finds that she was actually an experiment called The Resinance Children. An orphanage that paired up perfect matchs and made them compete. The buliding caught fire and the babies ecaped, seperating, they tryed to find them. Both children were named after a famous person and had their qualities, Michelagelo. that was her and mike, she goes after mike through Dr.Frankstien, the doctor from the orphanage. At the end it all came down to a battle of witts which angel and mike acieved and came down to a shoot out. Angel got shot and played dead for the cameras making it look like she was dead. Mike saved her and healed her wounds. Finally they walked over the border line to 2997, and started a new life.
I really liked this book, but it got confusing with all of the information given and all the story lines to memorize, Nicole Luiken is an amazing author, one of the best, but is confusing at times. It was worth it though, i couldn't put it down, then i went and got the seqeal, Silver Eyes..

Summary: A great read - but could have been better
Review: Angel Eastland hides a secret from all those around her. Angel is smarter than her friends, and she is faster and stronger. A distant memory reminds her that she has to keep her skills a secret. The only person who may understand her is Michael Vallant - but they have never met. Now in a small town called Chinchaga, Michael and Angel are finally going to meet. All of the secrets and lies are going to be challenged - but it may already be too late.

This novel was one that left me struggling to read the beginning. The premise behind the story is fascinating, but Nicole Luiken did herself no favours with the introduction. This novel is another one of those stories that leaves you wondering - I wonder if out there somewhere there already IS an Angel?

I decided to read this novel to the end, and I am glad I did. There is almost a formula to this story, almost like it was an exercise in writing rather than something from the authors heart and soul. The book lacks the taste of a really brilliant novel, but it was worthwhile reading in the long run which is why I am recommending it to others. Try it and see for yourself.

Summary: I'm Not Who I Think I Am...
Review: Angel Eastland is a girl with violet eyes, and she's never been to a hospital. She's stronge, faster, and smarter than most of the people around her. Her only compittion is the new boy in Chinchaga, Michael Vallant- who also has violet eyes.
Suddenly things begin to fall in to place, like how there always on the move, and how there so mutch better than everyone else in everything. As the pices fall in to place Angel and Michael relise there not who they think they are, they might not even be in the right time piriod...
A great thriller for people who enjoyed books like the 'Roswell High' siries or Francine Pascal's 'Fearless'. A must read novel for fans of DARK ANGEL. In short this is the best book I've read in a long, long time.

Summary: A pretty good science fiction thriller for teens.
Review: Angel Eastland is a sixteen-year-old girl growing up in Canada in what she believes in the year 1987. She has never lived in one town for more than a few years, and although her parents are loving, she has always suspected that something strange is going on. And she has always been jealous of Michael Vallant, the boy she never met but who always had been in every town she moved to, but had moved away a year before she arrived. But finally, Angel and Michael's paths collide - and cause a shocking discovery. It's really the late 21st century, and Angel and Michael are among the few survivors of a group of genetically engineered children that the public hated enough to attempt to destroy them completely. And now the twisted scientist who created the children 17 years ago is determined to capture Angel and Michael to use as pawns in his evil scheme. I might have given this book five stars except for the fact that at times it was confusing, and some things in the book seemed to contradict others. For example, Angel is the narrator, and we know her thoughts from early on. No thought of her special abilities are mentioned until halfway through the novel, when she suddenly is revealed to have always known she was different. The novel is still enjoyable, however - it just could have used a little bit more effort to make things mesh together.

Summary: What color are your eyes?
Review: Angel Eastland is different. She always has been. And not just because of her violet eyes, either. She lives in Canada, in the year 1987, at least that's what she's been led to believe. Angel hated Michael Vallant for nine years before she met him. She always had to move every couple of years, but no matter where she went Michael Vallant was there before. So when Angel moved to a town where no one had heard of him, she was thrilled. Until he moved there while she was still there. Angel and Mike immediately start a war with each other, until their common goal brings them together. Escape, ever since they were little Angel and Mike have both wanted out. So when they finally start working together they finally figure out what's been going on. It turns out that the year is actually 2098, and that they are a subspecies of humans. And when a doctor who wants to sell Angel and Mike to the highest bidder decides they aren't worth the trouble, they have to play his games in order to save another of their kind from death. I really liked this book and can't wait for the sequel, Silver Eyes. We really should have known more about Angel sooner since it was from her POV, but not knowing made the book more interesting. The author has a website at http://www.geocities.com/nmluiken/ if you're interested.

Summary: Violet Eyes
Review: Angel Eastland, a feisty 17-year-old, knows something is going on in the town of Chinchaga. After she meets Mike, who has hated for 9 years without even meeting, and who shares her violet eyes and quick brain, she eventually realizes that they are somehow linked, and teams up with him to discover the truth about her town. The mystery of the town eventually unfolds; actually, the year is 2098, and Angel and Mike are among a few surviving genetically improved children born under the secret government project, Renaissance. (Another clever touch: the names of the Renaissance babies connect--Mike + Angel = Michelangelo--). Chinchaga is an elaborate Historical Immersion class made to resemble life in 1987, and Angel and Mike seem to be the only two who have never seen life outside. They decide to escape, but the project leader, Dr. Frank, is just as determined to stop them.

Summary: Angel has a secret... and Michael has one too
Review: Angel enjoys her life in Chincaga. SHe's known as the idea girl amongst her friends becasue she always seems to come up with the greatest ideas for games and things to do. She's amazing at sports, school (though she chooses not to show it), and pretty much everything else. Then when she meets Michael, she knows that she hates him from the start. He's good at everything she's good at, possibly better. But when ANgel gets closer to him she may find out some of the secrets of her past. And she finds out that everything she knows is way too unreal.

THough it was a little confusing I was greatly satisfied with this book. I'm not usually a big fan of futuristic books with the exception of a few) but I really liked this one. The historical projects seem very real (and not a bad idea. I'd like to go back to Midevil times or egypt) and I'm looking foreward to the sequel. Maybe now that I know what's going on it will be a bit less confusing to me.

Review: Filled with great adventure, excitement, tingly feelings, and much more, this novel tells an interesting story that can be life-related through the teenage eyes. Summary: This book is awesome!!
Review: I don't usually read anything in the science fiction genre. I picked this book up merely because I thought it was a romance novel, but once I started it, I couldn't put it down! I stayed up until 5am because I just had to find out what would become of Angel and Michael once their "connection" was discovered. VIOLET EYES is an excellent read for anyone, I highly recommend it. Don't read it until you have a block of free time though, because it is a definite page turner!! I can't wait for the sequel!

Angel is a very dynamic character. She was strong. Micheal was also a very good character. Anyone who like suspenseful books should read Violet Eyes. This Book would make a great series.
