Rating: Summary: Stunning Review: This is possibly the best book I have ever read. It is beautifully written. Christopher Pike's space/time theories are very interesting and prevoke much thought. Parts of the book are sort of confusing. It is very sad, I was crying after the fourth page. Sometimes the best books are the ones that make you feel sad. This kind of book stays with you forever.

Rating: Summary: underlying message Review: i think that this book was extraordinary, but it seems as it may be for a different reason than why most people enjoyed the book. I found nothing too confusing, just thought provoking. I get from the intellect and spiritual aura that surrounds this book that Christopher Pike is indeed a very inventive and creative man. He seems to have a strong faith in the "being" of things, and he has definitely become at one with himself and his surroundings. That is, in my opinion, the point of this particular book: that once you are at one with yourself, you are at one with the Universe. Paige went thru quite an experience throughout her long life, and it all came back to her finding that oneness and peace within her own heart. She was able to look thru the eyes of others and realize that they, in fact, were just another part of her, maybe the more mysterious side, the sexier side, the more inhibited side.....just that she was herself in one skin, as well as every other inhabitant of the universe, the first and the last. She acted in a way that she knew, though temporaily painful and hard, would benefit her life and others eternally; she followed her intuition and listened to the air around her for the answers. We can all relate to her quest for truth, and for that we can all relate to these, or this character that ran thru the 'Paige's of this book. If you too are thirsty for knowledge, and power thru truth and enlightenment, this is a very interesting book and it definitely stimulates the thought process. Rating: Summary: Beautiful! Review: What words can I use to describe such a beautiful and inspiring story? I have read this book so many times, but yet everytime I do, I find myself becoming more and more enchanted by Mr. Pike's words. You clearly have to go beyond the surface of this story to really grasp the depth of just how spiritually written it is. This is absolutely my favourite book by Mr. Pike. It gives the feeling that there's something more out there for us. That our concept of life as we know it becomes even that much more complex and gradifying. But I think that it was Paige's undying love for Tem that really gets to me. She created her whole life, and our entire universe based of that love. She opposed all odds, and had to go on to fullfill a destiny that no one person could ever imagine possible, and to come to a conclusion that could never belong to a person unless they were as brave as she was.
Rating: Summary: very confusing Review: The Starlight Crystal WAS a good book, but it was very, very confusing. With the reincarnation and the past lives and then Paige's past and futures . . . You kind of gotta read it a few times to understand, but it is really good.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites! Review: I absolutely adore The Starlight Crystal. The book is great for science fiction lovers, as well as romancy-type people, because it tells the story of two people who loved each other so much, even though they were 200 years apart from each other. The book has a whacky storyline, which I love. It is one of my favorite Christopher Pike books ever! If you're a fan of his work, or other author such as R.L. Stine (yuck), you would really enjoy The Starlight Crystal.
Rating: Summary: Not for everyone but great none the less Review: This is a wonderful book. But its not for everyone. Those who don't like their perceptions challenged will hate it. Those looking for a hard sci-fi novel won't like it either. Those looking for new view on life love and god will enjoy it. In the end its not a sci-fi story, or even a love story. Its a story about finding faith. Teaching us to find answers within ourselves, and to seek the real.
Rating: Summary: A faint breeze over my head. Review: I have one thing to say about this book: WEIRD. I'm really into the whole sci-fi thing, and this really counted as sci-fi. The story line was way over my head. Still, it was absolutely absorbing. I checked it out at the library and could not put it down. However, like all of Christopher Pike's novels, he doesn't give enough detail or human emotion. This would have been so much better had it described the universe, instead of just saying "ooh... stars.... whoopdeedoo" Still, I recommend this to you who like out of this world stories
Rating: Summary: What's with the science Fiction? Review: Christopher Pike has been changing his writing style lately, and I'm not sure it's for the better. His recent books have been focusing on a sci-fi view and it's not what I want to read from him. Read his Final Friends or Remember Me series and then pick up this book. You'll be somewhat disappointed. I would have stopped reading this in the middle, but for some reason I wanted to see if it would get better. The last five pages redeemed Pike. It wasn't until this part of the book that I was able to relate this to myself and to society. I knew then that Pike had written from the heart. Those last few pages saved him from makin' this one a real stinker.
