Summary: Good Theme, Weak Book
Review: It is very hard to criticize a book about race and racism in America. However, this one needs criticism. It goes from a church burning in 1997 done by an African-American to a house burning in 1959 done by a white person. So how far have we come? Now, this is an okay topic for a book, but the girl and the boy in this story are so wimpy, and they are supposed to be at the end of 10th grade but act with each other like they are still in middle school. I think this writer decided to write a novel on an important topic for the sake of writing on an important topic, and forgot about what the novel would be. Another book that adults will think that we kids SHOULD read, but that kids will not like at all. I sure did not.

Summary: My favorite Book!
Review: I am 13 years old and I have read many books, this one however is my favorite book! It has a great mystery to it the whole time your trying to figure out who burned down the building. While at the same time there is a littl romance going on between Austin and Macey in the background which I found fun to follow. Macey really talks about racism in the book and expresses how we still have a lot of it going on still. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the ending was a little dissapointing, but I still urge each and everyone of you to read this book. I read the book and 5 of my friends have read it... It's a great book!!!

Summary: meow, meow, meow
Review: okay.... secretly there's something seriously wrong with this book... it's like carrie woke up one day and said to herself, "gee, i think i'll write a thought-provoking book for teens on the subject of racism.." swell, carrie... next time put some passion and true emotion in it and don't treat the subject like some neat little writing exercise for a comp class... i think it's rotten that people will buy this book and listen to it instead of novels like "Skin I'm In," which better deserves your money.

Summary: Caroline Writes another great summer read
Review: Burning up is about Macey Clare, the typical teenage girl, who stumbles on to or rather into a neighborhood mystery. After getting cought in a fire in an old church durring a community service project with her friends, Macey begins to wonder about the burned down barn next door to her grandparents house. She'd always heard that something had caught fire and the barn had burnt down around someone, but when she begins to get curiouse and asks more about the fire Macey finds that no one wants to talk about it. Why? When Macey finds that this could have been an act of racism she becomes even more curiouse about the town and townspeople she has always loved. Could someone she knows or maybe many people of the town she knows have commited this crime?
This book is an excellent summer read. I Loved reading it and wished it would last longer.

Summary: Pure Crap
Review: Ok. let me give you an overview of this book. this girl finds out that a barn has burnt down. Now, for the next 200 or so pages, she thinks about who the person might be who burnt down the barn. Keep in mind that this happened 50 years ago. She thinks for 200 pages. Not real excitement if you ask me. Please dont read this book. I beg of you not to.

Summary: Burning Up
Review: I wont summarize this book since everyone else did. This book follows around a girl so naive and so self centered and so ignorant and oblivious, I wanted to jump out of my window. throughtout the whole book, she walks around like she's never heard of racism! As if before learning about this fire, the world was full of pink ponies and rainbows. The worst part is, when an actual smart character comes into the story, she mocks them or just disregards them! I wont go into detail, because if you're going to read this book, read it for the laugh. Otherwise, spend your money for something better like a movie or a nice dinner, or if you're really looking for a good book, I would suggest Chuck Palahniuk, now thats what I call writting. But if you're looking to waste your money, waste your time, and get extremely aggrevated, please, by all means, read this book.

Summary: Burning Up
Review: Burning up consists of a very interesting story line in wich a girl doing a simple homework assignment finds out horrors to unspeakable to utter in the presence of anyone. A burning barn with a solitary victim trapped within the flames. This is one of the best books th at this hobbit has ever read. The simple innocence of the girl radiates out of the page and makes a place in your heart. This is an excellent book.

Summary: I fell in love with Austin
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I loved how it shows a connection between people who don't even know they are connected in any way, like a karass. This is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone! It is also interesting how throughout the questions and trivials, Cooney is still able to weave a little romance into this one-of-a-kind novel. If you haven't read this book, you should give it a try because it is very interesting and I believe people of all ages could enjoy it.
