Summary: Greatest BOok on Earth
Review: This is the best book that I have ever read. It was... seriously. =] "Burning Up" was a page turner, and reading it a fourth time was even better... It's a great book, and I think that it should be on all summer reading lists ... everywhere! =]

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is an excellent book
Review: This book is a great story, but moreso, it has alot of sub-issues. Everything is so well entwined. If you're looking to buy this book, I recommend you take it and put any descion to rest. Some people may think it is okay, but it takes maybe more than one read to really appreciate eveything.

Summary: Good but Disappointing End!
Review: I thought Burning Up was a great book. It dealt a lot with racism and I thought that the way she had Macey discover so many details was believable. The only thing that made this book a little shaky was that I didn't believe a 15-year-old girl (I am one by the way) would be so obsessed with an event from 1959 when she has a 'cutie' guy like Austin to think about. That just wasn't real. I seriously hope this book will have a sequel because Macey and Austin's relationship was just cut off when he went back to Chicago! ENJOY!

Summary: Burning past the limits of a good book!
Review: I think Caroline B. Cooney did an excellent job with creating characters for this book! Macey, the main character, had a lot of determination, which kept the plot moving. Macey was determined because she kept looking for the truth about the fire even though the answers were painful. Austin was a character that we can all relate to. He showed what a good friend is when he stuck by Macey's side and helped her investigate the old fire.
I really liked this book! I liked it because it carries a strong theme on segregation that is important for us all to hear. This book has an important message and will be sure to interest all readers!
Burning Up reminded me of The Terrorist, which is also by Caroline Cooney. These books are similar because both of the main characters put their grief from someone's death into finding the truth about it.

Summary: Rycy's Thought!
Review: I really liked this book because of its adventure and excitment. I really liked the part when Macey meets Austin and both fall in love. The book really put some thought in my mind, because it make me think of what would happen to me if the same situations came my way. Its a really good mystery at the beginning, but then at the end you find out what really went down.

Summary: burning up
Review: In the book "Burning up" the main character, Macey, decides to reserch a fire that happened in 1959. But no one wanted to talk about it. After her new best friend Venita dies in a shooting Macey starts asking more questions.
I would recommend this book to people who like to read long books because this book has about 200 pages. This book was ok but I wouldn't read it again. I would recommend this book to kids or adults.

Summary: A good book you can't miss
Review: I really liked this book because I really like the Caroline B.
Cooney books. My favorite part of the book is when she looks up stuff on her town and how her best friends tell her to leave it alone. I didn't think I'd liked this book, but when I picked it up I just couldn't put it down. That made me want to read more books. The other books I really liked that Caroline Cooney made were Wanted and Mummy.

Review: Burning Up
Caroline B. Cooney

Burning Up is about a girl named Macey. She is just like any other average kid she goes to school, gets good grades, and helps out at the local church on Saturday's. When she gets assigned a report and has to do research and find a topic she picks the fire that happened across from her grand parents house that sounds inserting to do cause she knows nothing about that fire.

She asks her grandparents about it and they act like they don't know anything. Then when she asks Mr. Fent Austin's grand parents, they encourage her to quit researching on that topic. She hunts all over town until she finds a lady named Mrs. Vinson. She tells Macey that some- one burnt down the house because an African-American man lived there. Mrs. Vinson tells Macey that the man's name was Mr. Sibley and that he was a school teacher and the kids parents hated their kids are being taught by an African-American. So one day someone burnt down the barn, witch was the apartment at the time that Mr. Sibley was living in. My opinion was that if you like reading about mysteries and about how African-Americans were mistreated by the way they looked then this is a perfect book for you. Also need to read the book to find out who did it and why!!

Summary: This Book is the best!
Review: Burning up was one of the best books I ever read. The plot, the story, and the characters are just one big jam packed book. I hope that maybe a 2nd Burning up one will come out. When i got this book I read half of it when i got home with it. In my spare time i read it and then the day after I finished the other half and I was finished with it just in 2 days. I love the connection between Austin and Macey. They would be just the perfect couple. But I did cry in some parts of the book because when Austin left it was like not that good. I would recommend this to anyone! I really hope their will be a 2nd one to this book!

The black mans name was Mr. Sibley. He was a school teacher at the high school. He was the first black teacher that town had. Parents hated their children having a black teacher. They would either take their kids out of school or do something about it. So one day a man burnt down the barn, that was an apartment at the time, that Mr. Sibley was living in. Read the book and find out who did it and why!!!
I recommend this book for everyone over the age of 11. It is a very good book and very interesting. There was nothing bad about the book, but that it was great!
