Rating: Summary: Burning Up is burnt out Review: This book is realy serious and not fun at all. I had to put it down. The first third or so was ok but the end was boring. Caroline has done some much better work and I can't wait for the next book. I am only 13 and maybe this book just was not right for me yet because it made me realize more of what problems we have in our community. anyways 2 stars.
Rating: Summary: Keepin' It hot! A Great summer must-read! Review: This book, Burning Up Caroline B. Cooney, was great! I really loved this book because it was always in motion and something new was always happening. It was not only a summer mystery book, but it was also like a love story about how two teens, Austin and Macey, work together to find the answer to an old barn fire and in the process they start to fall in love with each other. And after Macey?s first encounter with a fire at a nearby church, she starts to become obsessed with the barn fire. As they find out more about the barn fire from 1959, they start to wonder if the fire was started out of hate or if it was just a mere accident. So, as they start to crack this case, they find out more about their town, their families and themselves.

Soon after she starts to research a barn fire that might have been an arson attack. She ask people in her town about the fire but no one will say anything about it. This book is full of action and mystery. The book is good because of all the excitment and action.
Rating: Summary: Will Burn Forever Review: Life! Doesn't it seem short? Sometimes it can just burn away before your eyes, like in the novel, Burning Up. This exceptional novel brings the reader through the lives of a teenage girl trying to discover her true colors. Caroline B. Cooney uses descriptiveness and imagery to carry the reader along with Macy's, the main character's, journey to discover the truth. I feel that one of the best ways of determining a good novel is whether it makes you think. This novel opened my eyes to a young girls will and determination. As I was reading this fascinating story it made me think what decisions I would have made if I were in her shoes. Macy was assigned a school project, one that led her to discover what had happened in the barn fire across the street from her grandparent's house. To make the plot more interesting, Macy was the recent victim of a church fire, in which she almost burnt to death. History can be found in many things, including this novel. The small town that Macy lives in experienced a cruel awakening when an apartment and barn were burnt to the ground. This fire was not accidental, but was meant to extinguish the first black teacher to live in it. The novel brings us back to the days in which there was an excessive amount of racism and prejudice. Adding this bit of history made the plot all the better. This novel is a true mystery! As Macy is discovering clues to the fire rage, so is the reader. In a novel like this the reader can put the puzzle peaces together as the character finds them out. This is, of course, until the ending when the plot unfolds. It may be the characters; it may be the plot; but whatever it is, this novel will grab you in as it did me. This page- turner will invite you into the mind of Macy. Macy lost her hair, her reputation, and her old life, and I guarantee that if you don't read this novel you will lose what I felt was a great mystery.
Rating: Summary: Burning Up Review: Out of five stars I would give this book four stars. I liked this book because it was very mysterious and suspenseful. You never knew what was going to happen next. I woulf recamend it to other people. The book Burning Up is about a 15 year old girl named Macey, who lives in Conneticut. Close to the beginning of the book Macey is given a school project. She decides to do her project on an old burnt down house across from her grandparents. She sarts asking questions but nobody will give her any answers. The only thing she knows is that the house burnt down in 1959. As Macey does her project she finds out that the more she does research the more bad things happen.

Rating: Summary: REALLY MADE ME THINK> Review: This was a pretty good book. The thing was. it really adme me think about back in 1959 when everyone was racist and that. It's actually a really sad story.one thing that woulda been better if Austin would of stayed. and if WE could of heard MAcey's speech at the end. but whatever, it was still good.
Rating: Summary: Burning Up. . . An Excellent Book! Review: I absolutely loved this book. It was so good. I mean, that's really all there is to say. . .buy it! It's great for twelve and up!
