Summary: Very Heart-warming Book
Review: This was the first of many of Lurlene's books that I have read and it was my favorite. At the time I was reading it we were having problems of leukemia in the family and it really helped me emotionally. If you like tear jerkers than this is the book to read. It is a heartwarming book about a 13 year old girl that was diagnosed with leukemia. Her roommate at the hospital became her best friend and a while later died of cancer

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was one of the best books I have ever read.
Review: I thought that this was a wonderful book on cancer. It gave many facts on cancer. I think that this will one day influence my future. Any child that has a sickness of some kind should read this book

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Friendship and high spirits fight off a rare illness.
Review: In a split second, Dawn realizes that things will never be the same for her again. She has been diagnosed with leukemia. Terror, loneliness, frustration, despair. These are diminished when she finds Sandy, a friend to share her fears with. Believing that high spirits are the best medicine, they band together to fight off the illness. Experience their personal connection in this beautifully written book

Summary: Hint, hint: Someone's going to die!
Review: My sister had this book, and I read it because I was bored. It followed the same format as all this author's other books (based on what my sister's told me). It's kind of annoying. Despite the title, this girl lives through four books! I can see why girls would like this book since it deals with disease, but personally I like carnage and destruction better. I'll take a good explosion over an inner-body disease any day. I've read worse, but this certainly wasn't the best. Joel, grade 8

Summary: Dawn Rochelle
Review: Dawn Rochelle is a miserble teen. She has just discovered that she has leukimia, and that she will have to spend an uncertain amount of time at the hospital, receiving chemotherapy and losing her hair, weight, and happiness. No one understands what she's going through, even though they try. Then Dawn meets Sandy, a sweet girl from West Virginia, who is also her roommate at the hospital. Since they both have leukimia, they are able to comfort, confide, and enjoy each other. But will either of them survive to be lifelong friends?

"Six Months to Live" was sad, but enjoyable. It was truly terrible what Dawn went through, being skinny and bruised, losing hair and constantly nausious. Even though this is a fictional story, real cancer patients have to go through what she went through. This book really tugged at my emotions, and it also taught me a lot about cancer. It was a very entertaining book that mixed the usual pre-teen story about romance, friendship, misery, happiness, etc. with a touching story about a girl with cancer. I can't wait to read the next book!

Summary: Six Months To Live - A Beautiful Journey
Review: The book is beautifully written, simple and understanding. It's been a long time since I've cried over a book, but "Six Months To Live" was one worth crying for. I truly enjoyed the book; the characters were believable and warm and the plot heartwrenching.
It's definately a great book, one that deserves more than 5 stars. I would recommend this book not only for children right above 10, but for adults too...for anyone who has a heart.

Summary: Six Months to Live
Review: Six Months to Live was an amazing book. It was sad, because the main character (Dawn Rochelle) is diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. I liked almost everything about it. It was very well written. It wasn't a really long book, but it wasn't exactly short, either. It's the first book in the Dawn Rochelle series. The only thing I didn't really like was that it was depressing. Dawn kept getting better with her cancer, but her best friend Sandy (who was her room mate in the hospital) has a relapse. Then, Sandy's Dad sends her to Mexico so she can receive treatments there. All she had to take was some sort of pills. But then, Dawn got a telegram from Sandy's family, saying that Sandy died. It was just really sad, because Lurlene McDaniel made it seem so real. I could almost feel Dawn's emotional pain when she found out that Sandy had passed away. Lurlene McDaniel really is an amazing author, and I would recommend her books to anyone.

Summary: Six Months to Live
Review: Dawn is a 13 year old girlwho has cancer. While taking her chem-therapy treatments she makes a new friend named Sandy who has the same thing as Dawn. They help each other through the treatments and leave the hospital.
In the summer they meet again at a camp for kids with cancer. They do things with alot of diffrent kids, but they meet two boys. You'll have to read this book to find out what happens to Dawn, Sandy, and the two boys.
I liked this book because I didn't want to put the book down. I wanted to find out what was going to happened next . There wasn't really anything I didn't like abut this book except a few sad parts
