Rating: Summary: What will happen next? Review: Even after reversing a spell, Kate ends up with the boy of her dreams. Then, at a local coven ritual, she meets someone else. Thus beginning her uncertainty of which is her true love. Also introduced is Sandra, the new girl no one knows much about. Is she a friend to be trusted, or someone to keep a close eye on?
Rating: Summary: A story about friendship, betrayal, and forgiveness Review: Gr. 7-9. In her second entry in the series (Circle of Three), Bird tells the story of Kate Morgan, a high school sophomore, who is initially exposed to witchcraft. The story circles around a group of high school students in contemporary settings. At first, Kate uses magic to get Scott¡¦s attention when he was supposed to attend a Valentine¡¦s Day dance with somebody else. Then, Sasha causes their break up by using the same ¡§come to me love spell¡¨ cast to get Scott while Sasha was getting closer to Kate and Kate was going out her way to help her with homework. Sasha first went after Kate¡¦s boyfriend, then, trying to get her friends, and seems she tries to control her life as well. Why would Sasha do that to someone who had only been her friend? As dramatic as the story becomes, Kate develops her own identity and rediscovers the importance of trust. It is a story about friendship, betrayal, and trust, jealousy, adventure and forgiveness. It is also an unconventional story by being touching, unpredictable, and the characters are vividly drawn. The vocabulary is fluent and easy to understand. It is a pocket book, simple to carry and the price is affordable for teens. It offers considerable amount of tension and suspense to the readers.... It was not until half way of the book that it started to attract me. I would have put it aside if it were not for the school assignment; however, this story will appeal female young adults without pushing.
Rating: Summary: Pick this book up now! Review: I found the first three books in this series at the bookstore on Friday night when I was looking for something cool to read this weekend. I haven't put them down! I LOVE supernatural, fantasy, and horror books, and these looked like something I could get into. I was really surprised when I read the first one and found out that they're about REAL witches and witchcraft. While there's some fantasy stuff in here, too, mainly they're about these three really interesting girls who discover what magic is really all about. This one, MERRY MEET, is my fave so far. I love the romance between Kate and Tyler, and I love how she has to choose between two guys. This is like reading an episode of CHARMED meets POPULAR and DAWSON'S CREEK. If the first three books are this good, I can't wait for the next ones.
Rating: Summary: Book 2 really gets the story going Review: I loved book one but book two really gets things going. I just could not put it down. I am hooked on the Circle of Three. I have book three and cannot wait to get into it. I am sure it will be great as well. I am glad book 4 is almost ready to come out however, I might go crazy waiting for book 5 to come out in May. Smile. This is a great story.
Rating: Summary: Merry *Book* Review: I loved this book, it weaved the teenage mind and real Wiccan info to make something every Wiccan teen would kill for. It made me feel exactly what the charecters were feeling it was written so well. When I read about how Sasha tried to make Scott break up with Kate, I nearly threw the book at the wall I was so angry. Sasha, one of the new charecters, is really hard to understand and like, I ended up almost hating her throughout the entire book. It's also full of surprises, a lot of things I would never have guessed, and something that completly made my opinion of Sasha do a 180. I especially enjoyed the vernal equinox ritual, something that gave me ideas for my own celebration of the sabbat. All in all this book is very educational, so if your friends are curious, just let them read a book from this series.
Rating: Summary: Okay Review: I was pretty good! Kate, Annie, and Cooper go to a Wiccan ritual. There they met a boy named Tyler, who Kate has the hots for even though she's got Scott! (this girl goes through guys like some of us go through paper!) They also met a girl named Sasah, she seems nice, but she's a little questionable when she starts to hang with Kate and her other friends. The trio join a Wicca 101 class, so does Sasha. More things happen to, if you read you find out! Happy trails!
Rating: Summary: Even better then the first Review: I've now read three 'Circle of Three.' books, and this is definetly the best so far, told from the point of view of my favourite character, Kate. As Kate, Annie and Cooper begin to learn more about Wicca and start going to a Wicca class to learn more about it, they meet a mysterious girl called Sasha and Kate and Scott begin having problems. So much happens in this book but somehow it never seems rushed, and the information about Wicca is fasinating. The ending is a cliffhanger, but its all explained in the next book. I can't wait to read #4, but its not coming out here until October. :( However, I can definetly say Circle of Three is a brilliant series and now one of my favourites.
Rating: Summary: What if someone were trying to take over your life? Review: Kate Morgan isn't sure how much she wants to learn about the craft, but her friends are really into it and she doesn't want to let them down. So when they find out about a ritual that is going to take place she decides to try it out. It is here that she meets Sasha, who is new to the area. At school Sasha manages to befriend the Graces, Kate's other set of friends who are all about popularity. At first Sasha's pretty cool, but then Kate and her boyfriend Scott breakup and he and Sasha are seen hanging out. Kate finds out that Sasha has used the "Come to Me Love Spell" on Scott, even though she knew he was with Kate. And when the Graces start sticking out for Sasha instead of Kate, she's sure that Sasha is trying to take over her life. And Sasha is hiding a secret that will shock everyone, including Kate. This book really had me hooked, and I'm glad I found #3 to go along with it. Isobel Bird knows how to tell a story and I have a feeling this series is going keep getting better and better.
Rating: Summary: Good second book to the series Review: Kate's facination with wicca takes a new turn in this book. As she continues to stuggle with her wish weather to be a witch or not she keeps on finding herself drawn to the craft. After attending a ritual for a Wiccan holiday, Kate meets two very important people. Sasha, another blessed wanna be who uses wicca for more as a way to get what she wants. And Tyler a mysterious male witch who's she finds herself attracted to even though she still is going out with Scott. Is Sasha really who she says she is? Should she go out with Tyler or Scott. Read this book you won't be dissapointed. I loved this book mostly becasue the witches in this book were MORE real than ones you see on TV. There's not giant balls of flashing light or creating earthquakes with anger. There's just simple spells, and a real good introduction to wicca. It's really a facinating relgion. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. THe next one ("witch" I am half way through right now) is called Second sight and unlike the first too, it houses Copper as the main charecter.
Rating: Summary: A good second book Review: Kate, Annie, and Cooper attend a ritual, and, while there, meet a girl named Sasha. Although nice, Sasha seems a little...off. At least in Kate's opinion. But she has enough to deal with as it is...like her indecision between Tyler (the guy with the magnetic golden eyes that she met at the ritual), or Scott (her long awaited crush turned boyfriend). This book was a great fallow up to the first one. I truly enjoyed it.
