Rating: Summary: Not What I thought! Review: When my teacher announced we would be reading this book in class, I'll admit I was excited. It sounded like a very good book. I was disappointed. I thought it was slow, boring and very predicatble! It has a great story line, but wasnt written very well. Hopefully my teachers this year will have a little better taste!
Rating: Summary: A Good Quick Read Review: I'd have to say this book is mostly geared towards girls, and I find it amazing that a male author can really connect with his female readers. The story is about a girl that refuses to speak due to a traumatic accident. It's short and sweet, ideal for bringing to the beach and perfect for people of all ages.
Rating: Summary: I read it all in one night! Review: So much to tell you tells the story of a girl named Marina who since some tragic event has not been able to talk. She's spent a while in a hospital but even that wouldn't help her. SO in hope that she might find a voice and interact with others her mother sends her to a boarding school. In this school she recieves a journal she has to write in for school. As she starts pouring out her emotions, and even reaching out to students, she starts to admit what really happen. Will she ever have the chance to speak again? Read the book and find out.I really enjoyed this book. It tells the emotional story of one girls stuggle to get over her past and growing up. Though it's short it's definatly a powerful read. If you like stories such as "Don't you Dare read this Mrs. Dumphery" or other diary stories I reccomend this book to you. It's really a great read.
Rating: Summary: So Much To Tell You - A Cool Book! Review: This book is really great. Once I started reading it I couln't put it down. I guess the book is more suited to girls over the age of 10. It's about a young teen who in her own words has anorexia of speech. She is sent from the hospital to a boarding school for girls, where she slowly learns more about the world and people around her.
Rating: Summary: My review!! Review: I think that this book was really cool. You can relate to the characters really well. If somebody told me that this book was a true story then I would have believed them. I don't really read books like this but this changed my attitude. I would've given it a 5 star but some of the passages, I don't really relate to that much.
Rating: Summary: Moving Review: I found the book moving and compelling. Given that it is short and that I could not put it down, it was over far too quickly. I think it would be an excellent book to read and discuss with teenagers. One thing, unlike other reviewers, I am sure that the main character does not talk, not out of willfulness, but because she truly is unable to.
Rating: Summary: a short tunnel Review: This isn't a book that I imagine the sequel of. I imagine sequels to many books but surprisingly enough-this one looks as if you'll feel a little 'empty' after finishing it but it does nothing of the sort. I don't enjoy reading groupings of diary entries but these are as well done as Anne's Frank's diary! They may not have amazing descriptive passages but are simple, painful and very frank. I related to many of the passages that I fell into my own thoughts amoungst it. This book is a short read so it'll be good to read if you are bored. Many won't understand it but those who will know who I'm talking about and 'what' I'm talking about. Surprisingly enough- the book is like a plain diary. No long incidents are described to explain anything and yet when you finish the book everything will seem completely logical.
Rating: Summary: Mainly good but some disappointing parts Review: This book was moving and had excellent parts. It was a book that was hard to put down when you started reading it but then hard to pick up again. It left me puzzling over parts but these became clearer as I got further through the book. I felt this book was made better by not includidng things which would never in there right minds actually happen; everything seemed possible. I didn't like the fact that this book was written as a diary but that is just my personal opinion. I did find however that as it was written like a diary that you found out how she was feeling and what her thoughts were rather than just things that happened. I liked how we saw relationships between her and other people developed and how we saw her change and become more confident. This book made me realise that although I sometimes feel I have a hard life, that other people feel the same and a lot of people have a lot harder time than me. The most disappointing thing about the story was the end. Is there a book which carries on from this? Although I have written a lot of negative things about this book I do think it was very good. I will certainly read the next book if there is one and would not discourage anyone from reading this book. It makes you realise how hurt people are when you make small hurtful comments and that you do not always realise what goes on in somepeoples minds.
Rating: Summary: So Much To Tell You Review: My teacher made me read this book like any other teacher would, but in doing this, some books are good, and some books are really bad. This book was not very exciting because the plot took forever to get into, it dragged. The reason I did not like this book is because it was all about a girls journal entries, and i hate reading books that deal with day by day entries. For the most part, some people can relate to the quite girl that Marina was. The ending of the book was the best the best part of the book, so if you want to see what happened at the end order this book now!
Rating: Summary: So Much To Tell You Review: I read So Much To Tell You in english class this year. It is anO.K book. It is a little strange because this girl, Marina, did notspeak because something had happened with her and her father a year back...It is kind of interesting to see how she communicates with other people, you actually get excited when she does because it does not happen to often. When Marina does finally talk, it is for a good cause and that is what makes that ending pretty good.
