Rating: Summary: A Good Nixon Book (As Usual), But Not Fast-Paced!... Review: "The Seance" by Joan Lowery Nixon was very good. Nixon never fails to bewilder me with her writing talents. Unfortuantely, out of the four books that I've read by Nixon so far, "The Seance" has been my least favorite. The book would be a lot more interesting if it was more fast-paced. Instead, the book drags along, barely keeping you interested, until the last few chapters...The story is about a group of girls who get together one night and have a seance. They think it's all fun and games until one of the girls, Sara, starts to act very strange and the lamp plug is pulled out. When the lights are turned back on, Sara is missing. To make matters even more strange, both doors are locked, and Sara is found dead the next morning...Lauren is the main character. Sara lived with Lauren and her aunt as a foster child. Everyone thinks that Sara ran off with somebody and told Lauren her plan. And, after another girl is found dead, Lauren starts to suspect that whoever killed Sara is after her, thinking that she knows their identity...Will Lauren be able to figure out who Sara was meeting that night? Or will she be murdered before she can piece together the clues? Find out in "The Seance..."
Rating: Summary: Not a fast-paced thriller Review: A Review by Jessica I wouldn't quit call this book a fast-paced thriller or that it would keep you up all night. I agree that it wasn't a bad book and that it was pretty good but not a severely scary book. In the beginning of this book not much happened, which is what made me give it a three, because I didn't get into it in the beginning of the book. Towards the end of the book, like in the last 4 or 5 chapters is when I got into it more and wanted to finish reading it. It's about a few girls that want to have a séance to see if they can contact spirits and ask them questions. Some thing is wrong though and Sara is the first to notice and screams it out, but then suddenly all the light go off and when the light come back on Sara is missing and all the doors are still locked but Sara is no where in the house. Then soon Sara's body is found and she's dead, and pretty soon another girl from the séance is found missing. She is then soon found out to be dead. Is Lauren the next one to be killed? Better read this book to find out.

Rating: Summary: Very Well-Written Book!! Review: I liked this book a lot, because of two important reasons. One, Joan Lowery Nixon is a wonderful gripping author who makes you never want to put the book down, and two, Nixon gives you two ends of the story to believe! You can believe whatever you want. A great book for any age! A must read!
