Rating: Summary: Unbelievable! Review: Lurlene McDaniel's done it again! Lurlene McDaniel's usual genius for giving her characters difficult decisions to make and hard problems to face - both of which I've found too rare in modern books - and the style that we fans have come to expect will hook newcomers and impress long-time fans. Dig in!
Rating: Summary: Stories of hope sure to become classics. Stellar! Review: McDaniel has done it again! Against the backdrop of Christmas, she has woven tales of sadness and hope, of misunderstood relationships and final good-byes. With a deft hand, she keeps the stark realities of illness and death from becoming morbid. Instead, these elements are woven into a "starry" display of courage and faith. McDaniel has managed to craft a trio of tales that are both engaging and moral.
Rating: Summary: Starry, Starry Night Review: Starry, Starry Night: 3 Holiday Stories, are some of the most touching stories I have ever read. "Christmas Child" the first short story of the book is about a young girl's (Meline) excitement abour getting a new baby sister around Christmas. The baby is born with a fatal diese, and only lived a few days. Meline then must cope with her loss. "Last Dance", the second book is about sacrifice for someone you love and disappointment about someone that doesn't love you. Brenda wants nothing to do w/ sick, dying Doug. But when she turns out she is his last chance for happiness, shell put her feelings for Matt aside. "Kathy's Life" the last and my fav. story, turned out very unpredictable in some parts. Its about a 16-yr-old girl that seems to have everything, well, at least Ellie thinks so. But Kathy has to make a major decision, giving up the one person she loves most.

The first short story of the book "Christmas Child" was about a young girl's excitement abour getting a new baby sister around Christmas. When the baby is born with a fatal disease, Mellie has to learn to cope with the baby's defect. The second book, and my personal favoirte, "Last Dance", was about sacrifice for someone you love and disappointment about someone that doesn't love you. The third story "Kathy's Life" turned out very unpredictable. I won't say though. This collection of emotional short stories is definitely worth the time to sit down for a few hours and have your heart touched.

Rating: Summary: "Starry, Starry Night Review: This is ine of my favorite books that Lurlene McDaniel has ever writen. In the first story "The Christmas Child" Melanie a fifteen year old girl fells cheated when her baby sister ,Jennifer, born during the holidays dies ofa disease called Anenacephalec. That is when a baby's top part of their head isn't developed. But the baby's brief life shows Melanie the lasting value of love. In the second story "the Last Dance" Brenda finds herself in a one win one lose situation. You see Brenda likes this guy named Matt and this guy named Doug lkes her. Brenda gives Matt her phone number but never calls. Doug has Leukemia and still has called her several times. She ahs to choose between the two and decides that Doug is the one she wants. But she only likes him as a friend. doug askes brenda to the winter ball but come to find out, later that Doug can't go becuase his cancer is getting worse. Brenda decides to bring the dance to Doug instead of going herself. Doug and Brenda both know that Doug won't make it throught he night so Brenda stays with him. In the last story ellie meets this one girl named Kathy who lives with these millionares ina huge mansion. Come to find out that Kathy actually babysits their child. But is it really the millionares child..........? Read it to find out. I would recommend this book to who ever likes a good book. But I reccomend that you start in the morning because youa cant put it down. Seventh grade and up is better because you have to understand the concept of lasting love. Although it is rated a 4.9 reading level you do have to understand the lasting value of love.
Rating: Summary: Starry, Starry Night Review: This was one of the best books I have ever read. i read it around Christmas Time in 5th Grade. I cried everytime I was nearing an ending of one of the stories. Sadly, I lost the book. But I would love to get another one. Lurlene McDaniel writes very touching books. I've had many friends who have read Six Months To Live and all have said it was one of the best books. I believe them. Lurlene describes vividly, and yet sometimes vaguely in her books. But she touches your heart, and makes you weep. Almost uncontroably. I say, dont read this book in public if your are very emotional. Atleast, dont read the end of the stories. They are the best, but saddest.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT BOOK! Review: This was the first Lurlene McDaniel book I read and ever since I read this, I've been hooked. So far, I've also read the 5 Dawn Rochelle books, Saving Jessica, and am right now on Don't Die my Love. This book is really good though. It has 3 different stories, not one the same as the next. If you want to get a feel for the way the Mrs. McDaniel writes, read this book. All of her books have touched my heart and have brought a tear to my eye. So if you like books like that, pick any of her FANTASTIC books up. You'll be glad you did!
