Rating: Summary: The Hunter Review: Jenny Thorton wanted to find the perfect entertainment for her boyfriend's birthday party. She stumbles upon a strange game store and the even stranger boy who works there sells her a mysterious game. Jenny is apprehensive about the game but it turns out to be a big hit with her friends until they are sucked into the game and forced to live out their worst nightmares. The Hunter is a fast paced blend of horror, action, mystery, and romance. It's different from any other teen horror I've ever read and I was so hooked on it that I read it in one sitting. I enjoyed many of the characters, especially Julian who is the villain of the book. The end is great and leaves you wanting more. If you are even remotely interested in teen horror then you should seriously consider reading this book.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest adventure Review: like the other reviewers, i've read this book when i was 16. now at the age of 21, i still find this book captivating and have reread the series a dozen times over the years. the ending always makes me cry. the characters are memorable especially julian. this is a book you'll treasure and reread no matter how old you get.
Rating: Summary: Once more ruining a perfect five star record.... Review: My apologies, L.J. Smith fans, for insulting this 'brilliant' book. The only reason I even dare write this is because a rabid mob cannot physically tear one to pieces over the internet. The herione is a complete and total fool. Julian is not the sexy prince of darkness I originally thought he was (can goddesses blush shamefully? Discuss). Tom is even stupider than Jenny. My mind fails to comprehend how this is possible, but I assure you it is. LJ Smith is a talented writer, but this trilogy is not one of her better works.
Rating: Summary: Darkness needs light.... Review: Mystery... Danger. Seduction. Fear... Secrets revealed. Desires unveiled.... Temptation. Enter his world, the dark prince himself, the epitome of evilness, a spirit of many names, erlking, djinn, the shadow man...Julian. Darkness never looked so good,... or tried so hard. Now, Jenny Thornton plays the ultimate game. What do you do when darkness falls in love with you? This is my first L.J. Smith book, it won't be my last.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!!! Review: Okay, this book is so totally excellent, but it never could have survived without Julian. Jenny would just be a regular girl, and it would just be a regular book. Without Julian, I never would of read it. His character is just so compelling, enigmatic, mysterious, incredible, HOT, that you fall right in love with him!!! He is the greatest character that L. J. Smith has ever created!!! Jenny is an idiot for ever refusing him, Tom should of been killed, and Julian should never of sacrificed his spectacular self for her. I have read the whole series, but it all starts in book 1. You have GOT to read this! You will be loving Julian from the start, and the other characters aren't 2 bad.
Rating: Summary: SPELLBINDING Review: Once I began reading, The Hunter, I couldn't stop, and I blew straight through the rest of the trilogy. Anyone who reads The Forbidden Game will immediatly fall in love with Julian and nearly have a coniption when Jenny resists him and swears she loves Tom. Hell-o? What is Jenny on? Anyways, you'll love the entire Forbidden Game trilogy and you'll wish that LJ Smith had decided to make this like the Night World series, and keep putting out books on the Forbidden Game.
Rating: Summary: Smith's best yet Review: Smith has created her most romantic, beautiful, breath taking, yet evil character yet. Jullian is someone that can touch your heart while freezing it cold at the same time. Who could resist the thought of a beautiful angelic/demonic creature with bright blue eyes and silver hair?
Jenny is an unforgetable character also. You can tell how she reacts to Jullian's icey touch while at the same time, is terrified of him, just like you do. Smith knows how to mess with your heart and soul.
Jenny's friends, too, all have unique minds that will make you laugh and cry.
This book will have you flipping pages to the end, but no worry! It's the first of three of these wonderful books. This is truly a good book. :-
Rating: Summary: Awesome book, READ it!!! Review: The book is hot stuff, (I meant that in more than one way). I think that the characters were just the coolest. I just love stories where a group of people are together in an adventure, and each person has a unique personality, eg like Dee is a total physical person and Audrey is like a typical posh person that has to look good like All the time. (Not that I am complaning or anything ) And the return of Summer is pretty cool, ( and that was in the third book) I just love the quote: "is she Ok, I mean underneath?" I think that the Forbidden Game is an awesome book although I think that the name could have been better. WAY COOL Recommend most Definitely!!!
Rating: Summary: Best book ever Review: The forbidden game series is one of the best most creative series I have ever read. If you're not into magic, mystical love stories don't read it. But I would suggest this book to anyone it is one of my favorites. She is a great writer for our age group. I read the series over and over definitly read this!
Rating: Summary: The best book in the Forbidden Games series Review: The Hunter was the first book I read by L.J Smith and I loved it! I desperately searched for The Chase but I couldn't find it anywhere! I am now totally hooked on her books. It was cute how Julian was so in love with Jenny but he still shouldn't have tried to force her to go with him instead of Tom. I'm puzzled how everybody seems to hate Tom so much. Would you like it if someone tried to take away your girlfriend (or boyfriend for that matter)? After all, he is a sweet guy and no one's perfect. I think everyone should get this book 'cause it's the BEST!
