Summary: Sorry, didn't like it that much either =-)
Review: Ok, I never even heard of this book until I saw the interesting cover in the library and the author's name was a little familiar too. I saw the reviews here and I couldn't believe that some people said that this was the best book they've ever read. I'm sorry, but this book was a little slow. The characters seemed to be more shallow and good looking than "interesting". I think the step mom and Bridget were more interesting and kept me reading more than the romance between Annie and Strat. And Annie doesn't even give Sean a chance. She just dismisses him as just being handsome and popular and not interesting just cause she finds a better looking guy who was raised in the late 1800's manners and culture. I guess it would be different if a 90's guy was fed up with girls here and traveled back in time to find a meek 1800's gal. Ok, I know I hate bad reviews of books that I love but that's just how I feel about this book. Maybe I would feel differently if I read the sequel.

Summary: Well, I didn't like it!
Review: Take every misconception and exaggeration about Victorian times you can think of. Add some romance and murder, and you have this book. When I heard such good reviews about it, I read it, and I know I will be unpopular for saying this but I just didn't like it. If it's good for anything, it's an excellent view of late twentieth century perceptions of Victorian times.

Summary: This is a great book for all types of readers!
Review: This is a great book for anyone who enjoys romance, mystery, science fiction, or historical fiction novels. This book was a well-written story about a girl who travels 100 years back in time to find life very different from the 20th century. She sees how the world has changed for women since then. She falls in love and ends up in a dilemna of whether to go back to her family or stay with her one true love. Although the ending leaves you curious, the next 2 books are equally written. I would definately recommend this novel!

Summary: This is what romance should be like
Review: I am not a hopeless romantic, but I found this book really worth it. So sit yourself down in a comfy chair and read it through cover to cover. The time-travel's there, and the history lesson - but the romance is what's it all about. Get this: this isn't a sappy tear-jerker though, it's got pace and it's got rhythm, and you won't see a better-spun love story anywhere, short of Romeo and Juliet. Guaranteed.

Summary: A teen who dreams of love in the 19th century gets her wish
Review: This is an amazingly intriging book of love and hearbreak 100 years back. I absolutly ADORE this novel. I must have read the whole thing at least four times through! The descriptive language paints a realistic picture and the characters come to life! As I comment on the first reviewer from New York, even though it may not seem like it the author IS VERY accurate. Women in the 19th century still had NO power. The female revolution for women's rights had not begun yet. It was not proper for a victorian women to race, it was VERY unbecoming, and even more so to win.
