Her summer on the beach is time of filled with the want for love and a family.Though you know little about her the regulures who watch her weekly as she sits on the top step that leads down to the beach and stares at thems feeling and judgments of her. One of the best stores of its kind for SURE. A must read.

Summary: The watcher is an extrordinary read!
Review: As an elementary librarian, I have known for some time that Howe was a good writer, (I do love Bunnicula!) but I have never seen any of his work be on this level. As a long time fan of Robert Cormier, I at once found a comparison between his body of work, and this book of Howe's. I hope that we see more of this style of writing in the future. How lucky our children are to be able to "grow-up" with a writer such as James Howe!! The abuse issue as been written about in many different ways, but this was a fresh approach. I found the end to be a real page turning-just couldn't put it down finish. This is one I'll probably re-read several times, as it does have several layers to sift through.

Review: This book was the best I have ever read in my life. I recommend it to everyone and I think that everybody should read it. I read a review and a person said that this book was retarded and that he/she didn't reall learn anything from it. There was only on e review like that and the other people said that they liked it. Who ever wrote that is the retarded one!

Review: This book was the best that I have ever read in my life. I think people who haven't read it should and I'm sure that they'll like it too. I read a review of a person who said that he/she didn't learn anything and that it was retarded but there was only one review like that and all the other people said that they liked it. Who ever wrote that is the retarded one!

Summary: Intricatly Woven Tale is Great!
Review: I am 15 years old, and I love to read, but I have never been a very big fan of James Howe. I thought most of his books were fluff, but after reading "The Watcher" my image of him is completely different. It is a magnificent book and is told very well. It come highly recommended from me!

Summary: Angel to the Rescue
Review: In the book "The Watcher" it started out as a very boring book to me. . This book was confusing to us all at the beginning, but once it came together it was a lot better. James Howe has a talent with writing the story in different points of view. Angels are what make things work out for the best.

Summary: awesome
Review: This book was a wonderful book that had a deeper meaning than might be expected at first. Using the stories of the lives of 3 people, we see how feeling on a persons inside, are greater than expected. My favorite part was the angle and how it tied two characters together in the end. This book really comes together at the end and it really made me think. A great book to read!!

Summary: BEST BOOK!
Review: This is the best book i have read in my life so far, but i am now working on the Rainmaker so, that one just might be better..... or maybe not. All i know is it was inspiring, it really makes you think, you must have a great mind to understand this book. It really makes you wonder what happens to abused or neglected little kids. It makes you want to hold your hand out for them to grab onto.

This book tells the story of a girl that has been abused by her father and neglected by her mother. She lives on a small island off New York. Her only refuge from her parents is her writing. She lays out her thoughts and feelings delicately and smoothly, yet she describes her father as a dragon and her mother as a siging doll. She sits on the beach and watches the people around her. She finds safety on the beach. She longs to be part of the family on the beach....

If you know of any good reads, PLEASE write me! i am in great need of something new to read!
