Rating: Summary: The Watcher- Mind Boggling Review: This mind boggling, amazing book reached out and touched me. It begins with a girl that is always watching people at the beach. Yes, it sounds a little off, but it really isn't. The story leads into two other different stories, but it all seems as if it fits together. It is is somewhat confusing, but the description, and they way the story has been written, is simply fabulous. Some people get very confused, by this book and don't like it at all, but try it for yourself. You can't always judge a book by its cover!
Rating: Summary: A Four Star Review Review: The Watcher is a story about a young girl who watches people on the beach. She creates a fantasy world for herself and for the people she is watching. She thinks that everyone she sees has a great life and that she is the only one leading a troubled, disturbed life. What the reader learns from reading The Watcher is that no one has a perfect life. Unfortunatley, the writer's style is very technical and some points very difficult to understand. At some points it's difficult to understand which is the watcher's real world and which one is her fantasy world. The book definitely gets its point across by the end of the book although it does leave the reader asking questions.
Rating: Summary: What a great book Review: In my opinion I loved the book. It was full of life. It was interesting in its own way, the way it made you wonder. I think James Howe put great pride in when writting the charactars. They seemed so real to me and maybe others as well that is why I rated it so Highly.
Rating: Summary: Nothing but words on a page making up sentences Review: The Watcher by James Howe put me to sleep, literally! The book was very boring except the very last few pages. The characters didn't have any purpose in the novel at all. The novel is confusing, the characters are boring and for that matter, so is the setting. I read this book as an assignment in school but if I had the choice, I would never have it.
Rating: Summary: The Watcher Review: This book was one of the best books I've ever read. The author, James Howe, described each character in great detail. It shows how you can't judge someone from their appearance. It's just like the saying, "You can't judge a book by it's cover." I highly recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: The Watcher Review: I think James Howe did an excellent job writing this book. He wouldn't always tell you who was doing what, but he gave clues to try to let us use our imaginations. This book is good for kids and young adults from age 12 to 16.
Rating: Summary: A Thinker Review: When I first started to read this book in school, I found it utterly confusing and rather pointless. After reading about 4 chapters, I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen at the end. This book requires a lot of thinking. Sometimes I found it necessary to stop and wonder what was just said. It is very suspenseful! What you think might happen isn't always true. I strongly recommend this book to all teenagers and adults.
Rating: Summary: serius topics Review: i feel this book was very well writen and that the topics were also very good. I felt the book had covered some serius issues that not many people talk aboutor some people don't relize really go on in the world or the person doing the bad deed doesn't get a very serius punishment for it. For what the book was about it was very very good, but i would of rathered it be a little more adventureous or thrlling. But the book was very very good.
Rating: Summary: Lauren Cassidy Review: The Watcher was a great book. James Howe described the characters in such great detail you felt as if you could really get to the peolpe. It explains to the reader that you can't judge a person without knowing them, because not everythings how it looks. The book was great and I would read it again.
Rating: Summary: The book we read in class Review: I think that "The Watcher" was an ok book. I thinkthat James Howe could have been not so boring. I felt that the bookwent very fast and that it was pointless. It didnt make me want to keep reading it. After the first hundred pages I got a little bored. It made me feel as if he was saying the same thing over and over again. I did not like the way the story was explained.
