Rating: Summary: A Must Read! Review: I have just finished reading a great book! You won't believe it! The book is called, "The Watcher." I think of it as a real life situation. I would personally recommend this book to people who are mainly mature enough to not laugh when it says curse words. So in other words, people who are 13 or older. I especially would recommend it to teenagers. I would think that teenagers could really relate to this book. Also, adults so they can catch up with teenagers now. So like I said, this is one of the books you can't go through your whole life and not read.
Rating: Summary: the watcher Review: When I read this book I was very interested. I feel he is a good writer. It is very powerful novel. When I put the book down it made me wonder what was going to happen next.
Rating: Summary: You should read "The Watcher!" Review: A tear-jerking novel by James Howe is "The Watcher." Evan is a yong teen-aged boy who fears his parents are going to get a divorce. Chris is a life guard who is desperately struggling to find his place in his family, what he should do with his life, and is still grieving his brothers death. Margaret is an abused, lonely girl, and who tries to be invisible while observing the life around her instead on participating in it. Margaret sits on the beach everyday and just watches all the people. While she watches these people she writes in her little book about what she thinks of them and what she thinks their lives are like. Of course, she always assumes their lives are much better than hers. The two boys both notice her sitting at the beach alone, watching, and writing. What they don't know is, is that she is very abused by her father and needs to be rescued. They can't understand why she just watches and never plays herself. All three of them eventually come together in a horrific and saddening climax in the story. This is a wonderfully written book with an acception of some foul language. I recommend this book to anyone from about 8-12 grade who thinks their life is bad or just needs a good cry.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Book! Review: This is book is a great book to sit down and read. It is slow at first but once you get into the book it is hard to put it down. I read this book my freshman year for Accelerated Reader. This is a story of a young girl that wants to be invisible. She is a bony girl with loose brown hair that falls across her face and shoulders. While standing on an empty beach in a pink baggy t-shirt and blue flip flops, she was trying to imagine she was invisible. She thinks with fewer eyes to see her the easier it is to imgaine that she is invisible. When poeple look at her she thinks that they only notice her outside features. Read this book and you will be surprised by the eyes that were watching the young girl!!!
Rating: Summary: The Watcher Review: The Watcher By James Howe "The Watcher" teaches us that life is not always perfect. I liked the book because it was ineresting and made me want to read some more. I disliked one part of the book because "The Watcher's" family would abuse her. "The Watcher" was always lonely and other kids would call her names.
Rating: Summary: The Watcher Review: I am 11 years old and going into the 7th grade and I have just finished reading "The Watcher." It is a great book. I recommend the book to adults and teenagers because they can really relate to this book. I like the book because it was very mysterious and All The Family issues. Even though I like it there are some bad things about it. The language is bad and the ending. I wanted the ending to be more exciting and have more details like what happened to the Watcher's dad, or what happened to Evan's Family. This is a great book and I think that you will like it as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: read it today Review: I'm goingto the 7th grade, and I think The Watcher would be a good book for the people who just got out of jail or prison. It would be great for people who are mature enough to read it because of the mature things. That's why I think it is for the Mature people. I think it would be more exciting if the book had an ending that would at least tell what happens to Margret's dad, Chris, Evan, Shane, and Margret. I also liked the book because there was a girl who never knew her Parents. The ending is what was the best part. That's why you should read this book today, but be mature enough to skip the cursing words.
Rating: Summary: D-Bo speaks Review: I like this book because some things in this story are like some stuff in our life. For example, when the boy told Evan to steal sunglasses and Even wanted to do right and not steal the glasses. Even tried to go back and pay for the glasses. I really like the author and how he put this book together. He really put A lot of thought in to it. I dislike part of the book because they need more details and they have too much bad words. The book caver looks like A lonesome little girl and scared just buoken out. I wanted the angel to save her and help her, I recommend it to all the people who have things like this going on in their lives. The further you go the better it got
Rating: Summary: The Watcher Review: I’m no book expert, but I know a good book when I see one. The Watcher is definitely a good book. This is a very dramatic book with many twists and turns that deals with everyday teen life. This book has the elements that make a good book. The only real problem with the book was that it had a lot of adult language that I don’t think would appeal to many young reader’s parents. Also, the slow paced nature of this book makes it boring at some times. Other than that this book is excellent and I recommend it to Teens/Adults. It deals with real life situations and not situations that are impossible. It also would make an excellent point to Adults about what teens are thinking nowadays. I think this is a good book and I really enjoyed it. I think this a definite must-read!
Rating: Summary: Touching Review: This book was extremely inspirational. I started it one day after taking a math test, and wasn't able to put it down. It's basically about observing people and thinking that they lead perfect lives, but not even beginning to know the just of it. The ending was a bit odd, but overall it's a great book.
