Rating: Summary: Awesome Arkadians Review: The Arkadians is a great book. It has everything from a poet that was turned into a donkey to witches. This is a nice book for young and old alike. If you like fantasy, this book will give you a nice supplement of just that! One problem with this book though, it ends too quickly! GET THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: A Great Storybook! Review: The Arkadians is an excellent story. It is exciting, easy to read, and holds your interest throughout. The characters, although very different, help work well together and embark on a quest of great adventure. This book is for anyone who likes adventure and excitement in a book.
Rating: Summary: The Arkadians, very good Review: The Arkadians This is an excellent book. I recommend this book to those seeking adventure and fantasy. In this novel, master story teller Alexander writes about a boy who is on the run from two murderous soothsayers. He is accompanied by a donkey-turned poet called Fronto and a pythoness called Joy-in-the-dance. Fronto is on a quest to be turned back to human, as he was turned into a donkey by searching for inspiration. Joy-in-the-dance is the daughter of the Lady of Wild things, who is praised by the people of Metara. This belief is striking against the king, as faith increases in the Lady as faith decreases in the empire. King Bromios recieves a prophecy from Joy-in-the-dance, but she is afraid that she should change it. As you read the book you will find out more. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give this book a 8.5.

Rating: Summary: A fantastic journey is about to begin! Review: This book begins with a flashback to when King Bromeus talked to the pythoness, otherwise known as the woman-who-talks-to-snakes, and she tells him his future. She sees a king in rags and a city in ashes. We don't know what it means yet, but it sounds really mysterious, and the rest of the story is really exciting. I liked the book because it had fabulous talking animals and a great story.

Rating: Summary: an excellent adventure with a happy ending Review: This book is one of the best books I have ever read. It was the first Lloyd Alexander book I ever read but since then I have read as many books by him as I can get my hands on. He is an excellent author and this book is one of many that proves it.
Rating: Summary: Greek tale of love and adventure! Review: This book is simply amazing! I myself find it a lot better than the Prydain Chronicles (more charcter development, etc). A great story with lots of character development and fantasy. The only part of this book I would change is the constant reference to Greek myth. I saw references to the Trojan horse, Daedalus and Icarus, The Labyrinth, Pandora's Box (did anyone else notice the references to Prydain's Dallben and Witches of Morva in the tale?), along with many others. The soothsayers were perfectly oily, and Lucian was simply a true hero (not like Odysseus, constantly bragging) along with many other magical characters who make for one great read!
Rating: Summary: from huck Review: This book was a micture of hope, friendship, and adventure with a greek mithology twist. The charicters were well discribed, the detail was the perfect amount and it had a good plot which flowed with the story and gave you a great feeling which made me not whant to stop. For all people I recomend this book as a lesson, adventure and an example of where books can take you.
