Rating: Summary: This book was pretty good Review: I liked this book, the author has a lot in common with Lois Duncan, I have read all of Duncan's books then went straight to this one, so its cool.
Rating: Summary: If it was good enough for me to remember, it has to be good! Review: I read this book a long time ago, and I was just thinking of it before when I was looking for some mystery books and I happened to stumble across it. This book is GREAT! The author's code(s) (you'll understand if you read the book) are amazing, the plot is suspensful, the setting is brilliant, and the mystery is perfect! If you're looking for something boring, dull, unamusing, and downright bad, look for something else.
Rating: Summary: Not my favorite \ Rachele Review: I read this book last year and I found it to be interesting, mysterious, but not near as good as Nixon's other books. The book keeps you guessing, but unlike Whisper's From The Dead, The Seance or Secret, Silent Screams, it has absolutely no interesting characters. I don't particularily like this book. If you want a good book with lots of suspense, try The Seance, or any of Joan Lowery Nixon's other books.
Rating: Summary: This was a cool book Review: I really liked this book. There was some disapointments, though. I knew right away where the manuscript was and I thought it was pretty dumb that no one else in the houe knew where it was. But I didn't know who the killer was. I still liked it though!
Rating: Summary: The Name of the Game was Murder. By: Joan Lowery Nixon Review: I recommend this book to all teenagers between the ages of 13-15 years old. You must have an avid interest in mystery books because this is one of the best mysteries of all time! You must also have an imagination because this book was put together with a lot of creativity and imagination with a big spoonful of suspense. She is a wonderful authoress and I love all of her books. You will find yourself hungry for the next chapter. If you like what I have said about this book you will love the book itself. Go out and read it today!
Rating: Summary: Very suspenseful and hard to put down !! Review: I thought this book was very interesting and I reccomend it to any one who loves mysteries and likes to get a little scared. Samantha goes to visit her aunt Thea and Thea's husband who is a poet that samantha admires.Samantha is expecting a fun trip but Augustus is less than likeable and when the guests arrive to the weekend party and Augustus tells them that he has written a book that describes each of their mistakes from the past everyone gets anxious to find the manuscript so they will have their past stories removed from that horrible book! Will Samantha be able to find the manuscript to help her to find out who killed Augustus? This book was a real page turner and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Rating: Summary: the name of the game was murder Review: i was in 7th grade when i read this book. i hade to read it for a bookreport. my teacher said thst we could pick any book so i thought that i would use a book form my fav. writer. anyway so i picked up this book and thought what the heck why not so i read it and it was one of the bast books that i have ever read. iM not a fast reader and i am busy with alot of school activites so it most of the time takes me maybe a week to read a book. this one took me 2 days and it was the best.
Rating: Summary: A breathtaking book that keeps you in suspense. Review: I would recommend this book to all young readers because it is a real page-turner! It's a very well written mystery book that I didn't want to put down. I give it 5 stars! My goal is to read all Joan Lowry Nixon teen suspense books. Are you listening, Santa?
Rating: Summary: Best pre-teen mystery Review: If you are between the ages of 9-12, this book is for you. It isn't to scary for those of you that are a scare easy and is a puzzle to find the killer. I reccomend it to any age/sex that enjoys a mystery (it's a fast read too!)
Rating: Summary: A Great Book! But NOT a Gam I Would Want To Play! Review: In this book a young lady goes to her ant and uncles house. She is going there because her uncle is a famous writer and she wants her advise on her short stories. After she gets there she learns that he is having guests at the house that weekend, and they have to figure out where he has put a manuscript. In this manuscript he has something about every one of the people staying in the house that weekend except Sam because he didn't know that she was going to be there. Who ever found out where the manuscript was would have all the information taken out of the manuscript before it was published. While everyone was looking for the manuscript, putting the clues that they had been given and everything, Augustus Trevor was murdered. They were supposed to be working together but she devised a clue that would get all the other players in the wine cellar. In the end Sam figures out where the manuscript is and who murdered Augustus Trevor. I thought this book was ok. It isn't the best book I have ever read but it made you keep reading and never put the book down, and it made you wonder what was going to happen next. I give this book three (3) out of five (5) stars!
