Rating: Summary: Great Sci-fi Mystery Review: This is a wonderful story. It's about two Net Force Explorers(a teen computer police operative) who are asked to look for someone who is illegal 'bouncing' people off the net. The author makes two worlds become extremely real. Not only is there a very realistic view of the not-to-distant future, where Vitual Reality is a reality, but there is also this wonderful fantasy role playing setting.
Rating: Summary: Get the inside track on the future of virtual reality games! Review: This is an extremely creative book that takes you into a virtual reality world. My teen-age son was enthralled and I learned a lot about virtual reality worlds and what we have to look forward to. This is a little like the Holodeck on the Star Trek series and is great for both kids and parents alike.
Rating: Summary: Explorers Review: This is not a book full of technical jargon. The storyline is continuously on the move and adventurous. It is about young geniuses recruited to 'patrol' the internet through VR. I started to read one page a night, after the third night, I had to read the book. Tom Clancy has a style of dragging you into the lives of the explorers and the various characters portrayed in the book. As most of the characters have a different persona in the virtual world of a computer game( they use VR) it is fast paced, suspenseful reading with a twist at the end. I also read "One is The Loneliest Number" which also had me reading it in two days!!!! Definately recommended reading if you enjoy futuristic siuations that are all possible with a storyline attached. A good sized, light, easy to read novel.
Rating: Summary: Not up to usual Tom Clancy Review: This story line is so far off Clancy it was a chore to read. If your going to write about the future, don't do it on a script set 1000 years ago.
Rating: Summary: Tom Clancy really knows how to capture his readers. Review: Tom Clancy did an amazing job on the young adult Net Force series. The technology is amazing in this book. He also makes it so that you feel like you're actually are in the scenario. When I read this book, I felt like I was actually playing the game. This book is a book that will make a perfect gift for any young adult sci-fi reader. Definitely 5 stars. There was one con though. It was a little confusing in one part, but not all that much.
Rating: Summary: dont read it Review: Tom Clancy's Net Force is a very boring book. Tom Clancy can do way better. He has written way better books than this. I suggest you don't buy this one. This book is about a virtual game called the dominion of Sarxos. People play this virtual game a lot and it is the biggest virtual game in the world. But people have been taking the game too seriously and are trashing people's apartments, and ruining their computers and hurting them. They hire a girl to figure out who's been doing this and some interesting things happen but I won't tell you. This book is okay but don't buy it. Just check it out from a library because it's not worth buying.
