Rating: Summary: Boy enters fourth dimension, a surreal journey in the dark. Review: "I read a version of this book many years ago when I was in the fifth grade. I don't know whether the recently printed version has anything edited out of it, but when I first read it it was one of the most surreal and fascinating pieces of (SF?)- I had ever read. The concept of a person parting the folds of reality and slipping into almost what you would call a picture negative, has to be way above the pretentious, boring, drivel that they usually turn out for this type of audience. William Sleator is right up there with (cyberpunk) Philip K. Dick, and (Horror)Stephen King. If only more Sci-fi authors wrote like this you'd sell a lot more in the genre."
Rating: Summary: Excellent for getting kids excited about higher math Review: As a sixth-grade teacher I have read this book aloud to my students for several years. It gives me an opportunity to introduce the excitement of math and opens up some incredible discussions about the strangeness of the universe and the possibilities out there. The kids want to hear it again and again, and many want to purchase copies for themselves afterward.

Review: I am a 15 year old and I don't like reading books alot, but when the person at the book store suggesstion it to me I said,"If I don't like it a will only read 175 pages. So I read it and I could not put it down I read it in about 2 days. I know that slow but it was fast for me. Because normal it takes me a couple weeks. Rating: Summary: The Boy Who reversed Himself Review: I gave William Sleator two stars on The Boy Who Reversed Himself because I thought the book would go on and on about one particular subject. Also, Sleator made the book very confusing. For an example when you reached the higher chapters, one moment 4-space creatures would be talking then other people would cut in. I just thougt it was really confusing. I also thought it was confusing when they were in differant dimensions. I do have to give Sleator some credit though. I thought he did a very good job describing the characters. He did an excellent job sneaking descriptive words into the story. Some examples would be when he described Omar, he said his short plump body ... Then when he described Pete he had Laura thinking to herself that he was athletic and popular ... I think that he uses a very unique perspectivethat most writers wouldn't use. Also he has a creative mind and I envy that. I would recommend the book The Boy Who Reversed Himself to eighth graders ,and for anyone interested in differant demensions. The reason for my rating was that i'm not a fan of science -fiction writing. But if you are then you should definately read the Boy Who Reversed Himself by William Sleator.
Rating: Summary: Review on The Boy Who Reversed Himself Review: I give this book four stars. I gave it four stars because it was a really good book. This book was interesting all the way throughout it. It was a very good adventure book. If you like adventure books, this will be a book for you. It tells about a kid who can go into the fourth demention whenever he pleases. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that it doesn't explaine the fourth demention very well. It is hard to understand what the fourt demention is. It is about a new kid who just moved into town and he has a very interesting secreat. He can go into the fourth demention. He brings his neighbor into the fourth demention and she eventually learns how to go in by herself. She brings her boyfriend in and they get stuck in it. I would recommend this book to 10 year olds to 16 year olds. I recommend it to that age group because this book has some things to understand and follow. I would recommend it to people who like adventure books.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read in my life. Review: I read this book when I was in about grade six. I'm now in grade 12 and still believe it to be the greatest book. I now read Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Peter Straub!! If you hate to read or find books boring or love to read this is the perfect book for you.
Rating: Summary: Catsup catsup catsup Review: If you like catsup, and I know you do, you'll love the boy who reversed himself. I'm tempted to reverse myself right now. But I won't. That's how influential this book has been to me. The metaphysical implications are astounding. This book rivals Stephen Hawking's canon as one of the defining explorations of mans relationship to time and space. And let us not forget ketchup, because it's that good. But don't take my word for it!
Rating: Summary: up down and all around Review: Laura becomes suspicious of Omar when he becomes a little too helpful. He is able to know impossible things and get into locked spaces. Laura turns on the charm and omar cracks like a soft boiled egg. He is able to go into the fourth dimension which is adjacent to our dimension but not too easy to enter. He shows all to Laura unwisely, and Laura takes her boyfriend on a site seeing tour. She then realises omar never taught her to get home. Capture and torture inevitably ensues until some quick thinking by laura in the end. Good action, but you have to stretch your mind into the 4th dimension to appreciate the book fully. Be warned, you might never bend it back into the same shape again.
Rating: Summary: Review on The Boy Who Reversed Himself Review: Once again Sleator dazzles and rivites us with his incredible knowdledge of that which is deeply scientific. Here we have a book about dimensional travel, but not in the Time sense(Time sometimes considered the fourth dimension-this is of course is ridiculous for many reasons, 1 of which is simply considering that the 1st 3 dimensions have everything in common and nothing in common with time.)But in the sense that there are more angles out there.I cannot even come close to explaining how amazing and in depth this book is. It will stretch the boundries of your imagination. It may be a little hard to understand because the ideas expressed with are as always Ingenious. But simply pay close attention during the explanation and illustration using the piece of notebook paper and you should be fine. The way it's put together and the way Sleator uses his characters to explain things that the laymen may not get for lack of Theoretical Physics knowledge is perfect! The cool part about the way he presents it is that after you read the book you will want to go out and find out if it's true or at least where he got his info. (Speaking of which if William Sleator or anyone who knows reads this please send me an email about where the Author finds this info. Thanks.) This book is among the many other Sleator books that are unforgettable and mind expanding. I also reccomend Singularity, Intersteller Pig, Strange Attractors, The Duplicate, Others See Us, and House of Stairs. Truly you will have open eyes after reading this book.
