Summary: WARNING: If you start this series, STOP with book number 8!
Review: I've been reading these books since the series was called "Boyfriends & Girlfriends." In those days, long ago and far away, the characters pictured on the front actually LOOKED like the people in the book! Amazing, I know, to expect that a books cover photo should actually MATCH the person described in the book. For example: Zoey, a "waif-like blonde." Yet, she has dark hair and looks pudgy on the "Making Out" series covers! And lest we forget Aisha, who has "long, springy dark hair." Then WHY is she sporting a pixie, boyish haircut on the covers? Were these models just cheaper to photograph?! Inconsistencies are ALL throughout this series (Jake's little sister completely disappears from books 5 - 26), but books 1 - 8 are actually well-written, mildly realistic and humorous (espicially the pages with any mention of Nina). Buyer beware, however, you WILL get addicted (cheesy and predictable as the books after 8 become, it is like a soap opera) and, as of right now, there are NO more books after 28. Not only do the books after 8 become focused solely on Zoey (they may as well have been named "The Sagas of Zoey), the series will leave ALL of the sub-plots unfinished with MANY loose ends left hanging with its abrupt conclusion. The five stars I gave this book are not only for number 1, but also 2 - 8 for staying TRUE to the original characters and for the long-forgotten "Boyfriends & Girlfriends" cover photos!

Summary: I Do Not Suggest This Book
Review: I am fifteen years old. I read this book and gagged. I know reviewers are going to hate me for this. They are going to say that they didn't think the review was helpful and everybody is going to hate me, but personally, I don't care. Anybody who wouldn't agree with me probably liked the book, right? And anybody who likes this series doesn't exactly have that much gray matter in their cranium, if they even know what a cranium is. What I'm getting at is that this book is shallow. The characters are boring and predictable. So is the plot. Ooh, what's going to happen to Zoey now that shes in love with Lucas and hates Jake? Hmmm, I wonder, maybe break up with Jake? It doesn't take a budding Einstein to predict that. Anyway, I only suggest this book for those who like mushy romantic stories or who have a brain capacity of an eggplant. I'm glad for the girl who's grade went from a D- to an A in English(which I can hardly belive is possible, any teacher who would find out the graphic material in this series would drop it to an F) but for those who enjoy real literature, this is not the place. Katherine Applegate makes Dr. Suess look like Shakespere. Thanks for your time.

Summary: A Wonderful Series
Review: The book that began it all...It's romance, lies, and broken hearts. The real-life scenarios almost everyone goes through and the heart-stopping secrets. You'll feel every emotion, and fall in love with the characters. If you have not read the Making Out series, you have missed out on one of the most amazing series I have ever read!

The short summary on the back of the book: "They've all grown up together on a tiny island. They think they know everything about one another. . .but they're only just beginning to find out the truth." Gives just the tiniest glimpse into what the series is about. After reading even the first book, you will find out haw true this summary is. Please, if you are going to read any series at all, read this one.

Summary: Like it a lot
Review: I think that Zoey Fools Around is a great book. I like the plot, and the characters are really well done. My one complaint is that at the end when Zoey and Lucas are kissing, the way it's written is kind of corny. Aside from that, I liked it a lot. Worth the money and more.

Summary: I LOVE this series
Review: This whole series is awesome. I'm 14, and can really relate to a lot of the things that go on in these teenager's lives. I go through these books like CRAZY! I can never put them down! The whole series is about a group of teenagers that live on a tiny little island off the coast of Maine. Their personalities are all very different, even though they've grown up together. It's basically about their day to day lives...boyfriends/girlfriends, parents, brothers and sisters, school...just typical teenage *stuff*. I really recommend this series to any teenager.

Summary: Zoey Fools Around
Review: This book is a great book. I am not a reader but on a trip out of town I picked 2 of these books up to read in the car. (Zoey Fools Around and Jake Finds Out.) I read both of them in 3 days and had nothing to read the rest of the way. When you read, you learn about the characters and you feel like you know them. You get inside there feelings and inside there minds. You become part of the story. Katherine Applegate is a VERY talented writer. I only wish that these books became a TV series like Dawsons Creek. If you haven't read this book yet, you really should! Thank you Katherine Applegate! If you would like to talk about the books, please email me!

Summary: Lucas sounds sexy
Review: I love this book. It's about Zoey Passmore falling for her boyfriends worst enemy(I can relate to that). I read this book in 3 hours because it was so good. As I got further and further into the book i found myself falling for lucas. It's a shame that he is not real!

Summary: A Great Series For Young Teens
Review: Boyfriends and girlfriends. That seems to be on the lips of every teenager today. Anyway, this book tells a touching story of a group of kids who grew up together on a small island. They tell each other everything and share all of their secrets. Now Zoey, who will become the black sheep of the group, has a secret that no one knows. Will that tear her apart from everyone else. Maybe you should read the book to find out.

Summary: Tsk Tsk Zoey
Review: The book, "Zoey Fools Around" Is a begining of a great series. Believe me I've read every book. This story is all about Zoey Passmore who has a wonderful love life with her great boyfriend Jake. Then she meets Lucas who has recently come back from the YA (a jail for teenagers) and she becomes closer and closer to him. Everybody else hates Lucas including Zoey's cool best friend, Nina Geiger and Nina's sister Claire (Who was a victim of the crime Lucas commited) and everybody else Zoey is close to! What will Zoey do? This book is cool, cheap, and well, just plain well written! So go ahead, buy it!
