Summary: Rival to the Mighty Jurassic Park?
Review: Sphere was one of the few books I ever speed-read. I finished it in one three-day weekend in 7th grade and loved every minute of it. Although, as is usual for Crichton, the last 20 pages were disappointing, the last 2 pages made up for it completely. The ending leaves you guessing about who did what: Do they still have "The Power"? I've debated this with a friend of mine who has read the book, she thinks they all forgot it, I think only the one lady kept it, and it appears some people on here think they all remembered. I guess only the soon-to-be-released movie will tell us truly (hopefully). This is one of, if not the, greatest Crichton books ever written. Like all his other books, it has a different subject than most are used to and it is no way similar in subject to his other books. The style is mostly the same, and you can see big flashing signs of "CRICHTON" throughout the book. A true great.

Summary: Crichton's Absolute Best
Review: Sphere was fantastic. Although only my second M.C novel, I thought that Crichton did an outstanding job of luring the reader into a suspense filled journey of the unknown. I found myself continuously trying not to "cheat" and see what that Sphere thing really is. The ending was just like the plot...DEEP!! If you don't have an open mind, don't even go there. You'll probably find something in the book that didn't compute. However, if you like "deep," sci-fi, suspenseful Crichton, you'd better not sleep on this one because when Hollywood gets a hold of it, they'll ruin it for sure...Just like JP, Lost World, and Congo.

Summary: One of Crichton's Best!
Review: I was skeptical about the plot at first, but this proved to be one of the best books I have read in a long, long time. Crichton's multiple plot turns really add a lot of interest. Not only is the main plot intriguing, but the conflicts between the scientists themselves help to carry the story along and tie everything together. I recommend you pick this book up right away!!

Summary: This book is a maelstrom into soulessness
Review: I have read little by Crichton. But whatever it was, it made me not enjoy his type of Science Fiction. Two of the few things that I did read were "Jurassic Park" and "Sphere". Both, I thought, hopelessly losing their slowly developing content before me. "Sphere", however, was an exception, for it was just a non-exaggeratingly empty roll of toilet paper with unwise words and a constant morphing of a worsening story. The story seemed promising and exalted me even when I looked at the appearingly deep-in-meaning cover. I must say that I was constantly saying to myself: "What a good book this is!" all the way till the four fifths mark. That's where things got so lousy that I even considered quitting on the book, something which I rarely do. To tell the truth, I couldn't believe what pure adulteration of a good initial plot my eyes were witnessing. I finished it, but with much regret and with four days of wasted night-life.

Summary: SPHERE IS MY FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME!!!!!!
Review: I LOVE reading when I have the time and this is the most exciting book you will probably ever read. THe multiple twists keep you thinking about the plot every second. THe book seems to "turn its own pages" and the hour hand on the clock goes into fast forward. The excitement never lacks with this AWESOME book. I RECOMMEND IT TO YOU IF YOU ARE DEBATING ABOUT READING IT!!!!

Summary: This book is the greatest book ever written!!
Review: Sphere is the best book I have ever read. It is so clear that you feel as if you were really there living the story out. I have read Sphere about five times and every time it is as facinating and exciting as the first time. I reccomend this book to anyone!

Summary: The ending was everything it should be!
Review: In retrospect, one of the most satisfying reads I've ever had. From the moment Harry enters the Sphere this book dosen't let you go. I think the book actually turned its own pages. The ending is everything it should be. On the surface, the ending may appear to be a let down, as it seemed to belittle the intire story, but by taking the plunge and giving us an ending that is such a shock to the system, Crichton adds something that sets this novel apart from other thriller-suspense novels. What better way to illustrate the enormous power of the Sphere? I wouldn't ask for the ending to be anything else. How many of us finished this book and just sat in our chair, silently saying "wow"?

Summary: Michael Chrichton at his BEST!!!
Review: Wow. This book is the best Science Fiction novel ever. H.G. Wells couldn't have written it better. I was only ten years old when I first read this, so I don't remember all of the details. All I do remember is that it is worth the read

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Maybe the best book ever. Riveting.
Review: In this book, Micheal Crichton takes us to the very brink of human curiosity and fear, both as a reader and as a character. The beginning starts out smoothly, but at about the 100-page mark, where the characters first enter the spaceship, then our curiousity-and the book-takes off. The next day I was so gripped i woke up, turned on my light and read 200 pages, non-stop. The middle is extremely suspenseful, the tension is brilliant, and the climax is enthralling.
