Rating: Summary: Sphere Review: What an amazing experience to read! Easily Michel Crichton's best. He has outdone himself once again. When I first read Sphere, it took me only a day to read. Every character is so well defined and described. Being in Norman's mind an incredible experience in itself alone.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful wonderful book! Review: Disregard the movie, it does no justice to this book. When I found it on my father's bookshelf as a 13 or 14 year old I was amazed. I read and reread and reread it, over and over again. Impossible to to tear myself away from it...almost an obsession. My father's copy finally split at the bindings, and I had to buy a second. Trust me, this book is one definately worth the $.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST! Review: This book rates with Crichton's best, and his best is THE best! While the characters could be a little better, the combination of a wonderful plot, great suspense, and knockout writing skill, Crichton puts this one over the top. I loved this book! You don't have to like science fiction to read it, anyone will like it! READ IT NOW!

Rating: Summary: Scared yet? You will be - Review: Michael Crichton has written some very good novels and happily this is one of them. When a crashed starship is found at the bottom of the ocean, over two hundred years old, a diverse and argumentative team is dispatched to survey it. On board they find a mysterious alien sphere, and soon afterwards things begin to go frighteningly wrong . . .Not only a chilling underwater fable, Sphere contains plenty of food for thought on the nature of alien life, human nature and the power of our own thoughts. Guaranteed to make you shudder - a great science fiction novel which is actually written in understandable English.
Rating: Summary: The Challenge of the Mind Review: In the middle of the South Pacific, a large, spherical spaceship is discovered. The Navy brings in some of the best scientists in the world to to try to make sense of the discovery. It is a ship of mammoth dimensions and appears to be at least three hundred years old. Inside is a large, perfect sphere. It proves to be the ultimate test of not the body, but that of the mind. It is a riveting page-turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It gives you a new outlook on the way that other civilizations may be in the future, including mankind.
Rating: Summary: JOLLY GOOD PLOT! Review: It has come to my attention that Sphere is not as one would percieve it to be. It is filled with entertaining twists that keep the reader transfixed for hours. I say, the book nearly hipnotized me. It became an obsession. Whenever i wasn't reading about it, i was thinking "What happens next?" "Does Norman die?" It was inexplicable! The power was exzonerating! But get on with it. Spend a few bucks on the darn book and start reading it!
Rating: Summary: Sphere Review: I thought Sphere was an exellent book, one of Crichton's best. The book builds up to a violent,action-filled period, but the ending kind of lacked something. It is still a very good book, and I recommend it to all sci-fi fans.
Rating: Summary: Pushing buttons at the console-321 Review: I read Sphere and immediately desired to re-live it again. At first, looking at the books design(atleast with the three copies I have) you wonder, what could possibly be within the spiral of numbers, and why would a man be standing like a shadow facing the spherical oblivion. As soon as you start reading, you can not put it down unless you haven't an imagination. Even if your mind allows a possible picture from the words of this book, you'll be hooked. It plays like a movie - indepth looks at possible psyche's in the given situation without flaunting too many, or too little detail. Once you realize what your up against in the book, from page one, you will become a viewing character that silently watches the displays around you. If you are claustrophobic I do not recommend reading this book. Also if you cannot hold you breath for atleast the length of several pages, don't dare touch it. But if you have the desire to feel the wonder and awe put forth in this novel, then take a gasp, flip open to page one, and say hello to Jerry for me :)
