Summary: All the Days of Her Life
Review: After a special summer at Jenny House, Lacey is determined to put her problems behind her. When she returns to high school, she is driven to become a part of the popular crowd and win the attention of gorgeous Todd Larson. But Lacey thinks fitting in with the popular kids means losing weight and hiding her diabetes. She starts juggling with her insulin shots or even skipping it. Finding out what happens next was very exciting. Indeed, this is a great book to read.

Summary: Life's Obstacles
Review: As a long time reader of Lurlene McDaniel, I thoroughly enjoyed reading "All the Days of Her Life". I read "Six Months to Live" years ago and I still have the same copy of that book. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a little over 3 years ago and this book really hit home. I could understand where Lacey was coming from, but I also wanted to take her by the shoulders and give her a good shake! Life isn't about fitting in....it's about accepting yourself for who you are, and I think that McDaniel really portrays Lacey's realization of this throughout the book.

I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages. Especially teens with a chronic or terminal illness.

Summary: Fitting In: The Only Importance.
Review: I feel that this book really shows the pressures that teens face in life today. My parents got a divorce when I was a small child so for me life has always been, live with mom, visit dad a lot. I am also lucky in a sense that my mom and dad get along very well. But many of the other things that Lacey has to deal with are very real in socity today. Fitting in is the most important thing on most adolesent girls' lists. Extreme dieting and purging are just a few of the perils that girls will use in order to stay thin and in the "IN" crowd, espically when trying to impress a very popular guy, like Todd, who think that they can get anything they want, including the love of more that one girl, which is exactly the way Todd kept trading Lacey and Monet, then when Lacy ended up in the hospital because of her diabetes he immedatly traded a sick girl for a healthy one.But Lacey is luckier than she thinks, she is surrounded by great friends like Terry and Katie and espically Jeff who know what she is going through. All in all I think this is a very good book

Summary: I threw this book across the room
Review: I had read and enjoyed nearly all of Lurleen McDaniel's books before I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 12 (1993). I didn't come across _All the Days of Her Life_ until some time after my diagnosis, and I thought I ought to read it. The book made my blood boil! Like the other young woman with type 1 who has reviewed this title, I wanted to give Lacey a good shake. But more than that, I wanted to give Lurleen McDaniel a piece of my mind.

Insulin does not make people fat: too much food and too little exercise make people fat. Too much insulin in comparison with what someone wants to eat will mean he or she has to eat too much. Too much insulin also means it's more difficult to exercise because exercise and insulin both reduce blood sugar levels, sometimes making blood sugar dangerously low. Anyone who wants to skip insulin injections to lose weight needs to see a counselor, a dietician, and possibly a different doctor and a new diabetes educator.

Poorly controlled diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in people under 25. Skipping insulin can make you lose more than 5 lbs., it can cost you your sight (and your feet and your kidneys and your heart).

Summary: True and Honest
Review: I have read almost all of the books by Lurlene McDaniel and have read all in the series that this one comes from. I have battled with whether or not i want people to know that I have a conjenital heart desies and the emotions depicted by all of the charactors in the book are real and honest. The book shows how people who are sick feel, we bond to others who have problems and aren't normal by society's terms. I applaud Ms. McDaniel's efforts to provide people like me an escape to a world where people understand and a chance for those that are lucky enough to be well a chance to understand a little bit about where we come from. I first read Six Months to Live in the fifth grade and it changed me forever, i finaly understood that i wasn't alone, and i'm not. These books bring many a sense of hope a sense of belongong and most of all a sense of friendship which is the most important thing in life.

Summary: My absoulte favorite of her work.
Review: I have read this book many times and still love it. There's something about how Lacey feels that keeps drawing me back. Lacey's desperate struggle to fit in by losing weight and hiding her diabeties is done so well. Every one should read this book.

Summary: I really liked this book!
Review: I liked this book because It can hit home to a lot of people. I think that in a way, Lacey was foolish for trying to hide her diabetes, juggle her weight, and push Jeff away at the same time. But she learns her lesson, and I'm glad about that. I can't wait to read more of her books!

Summary: Please Keep writing more like this Lurlene McDaniel
Review: I read my 1st Lurlene McDaniel book (6 months to live) in 4th grade. I have been hooked since then. All the days of her life tells about a girl named Lacy who just wants to be normal and fit in. Instead of accepting her diabetes, she tries to ignore it and she ends up very sick. I love all books by Lurlene McDaniel and hope that she will continue writing them for a loooooong time.
