Rating: Summary: Fun adventures with Molly Moon Review: I picked up this book after seeing it on a couple of recommended reading lists. People always say not to judge a book by its cover, but when I saw the cover on this book, I had to have it (you'll see what I mean...the holographic swirl patterns are pretty cool). I'm glad I grabbed it.If you're read any of the other reviews for this book, you already know some basic facts. Molly is an orphan (we read a lot of orphan books, don't we?) who is not the smartest, prettiest, or most popular. In fact, most of the kids at the orphanage make fun of her, except for her good friend, Rocky. When Molly finds an old book on hypnotism at the library and hears an ugly man screaming at the librarian about it, she knows this book must be special, so she takes it. Back at the orphanage, Molly reads the book and works on her hypnotism skills, eventually using them to leave the orphanage and have a grand adventure, which lands her in America. Full of twists and turns, readers young and old alike will enjoy Molly's adventures, as she uses her hypnotism on all sorts of unsuspecting people. I enjoyed the book, although I did find a couple of parts to be rather predictable. Please don't compare this book to Harry Potter. Sure, it has the whole orphan-thing going for it, but the same can be said about the Lemony Snickett books. This book stands by itself and is actually a pretty good (and quick) read.
Rating: Summary: Molly Moon Review: I read this aloud to my husband and we loved it from start to finish. First, this is a completely original work, so many books for children (of all ages) feel redundant, but Molly Moon is original from start to finish. Second, it has surprising plot twists, true, some things are predictable and you know there will be a happy ending from start to finish, but you'll never see the bends coming.
Rating: Summary: What a wonderful book Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't put it down. The plot is engaging, it keeps you reading. The only thing I disliked was the fact that mrs adderstone was hypnotized to do very embarassing things. I would recomend this book to anyone with a sense of humor or that would like a good laugh.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: I received an advance copy of Molly Moon and read it in 2 nights. The characters are easy to identify with and the story is entertaining. I teach 3rd grade and we have been reading this book as a read aloud. The kids love it and beg me to read more than one chapter at a time!
Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the adventure to continue! Review: If there is another book with as much fun and adventure in it involving an orphan hypnotist, I haven't found it! Molly Moon is an adorable character who you can't help but love. Her hard times at the orphanage seem nearly over when she finds a book on hypnotism at the local library and makes her way across the pond to NYC where she becomes, of all things, a Broadway baby and a bank bandit - all in the same month. Not to be missed by any reader with an affinity for Lemony Snicket or Harry Potter. You won't be able to wait for the sequel. Truly fun stuff with a cherry on the top.
Rating: Summary: Molly Moon's Incredible book of Hypnotism is a GREAT mystery Review: If you love to laugh and like to be scared at the same time this is a GREAT book for you. It shows that know matter who you are you can make a difference.
Rating: Summary: The book I had to buy! Review: In one of my many trips to Borders for birthday gifts... This book jumped at me and bit me! The cover was amazing and tantalizing. So, there I went and pciked it up off the shelf. Read quickly te first few pages and said, "hmmm, this looks like a book the birthday girl would love to read!" Guess, what I was RIGHT! She told my daughter that she read it twice in 2 months. So just imagine. We have bought it for others and the same response was given! this book is a hit with kids from 8-11! Now my daughter definitely wants this book. LIGHTBULB---Perhaps a gift for her birthday in October??? What a lovely idea... Thank you Georgia Byng for your life-saving book..it has taken me out of a lot jams! Who knew??? What do others recommend after this book? And is Ms. Byng publishing another?
Rating: Summary: revenge-theft and some really mean actions Review: Molly gains great power after finding a book on hypnotism. Rather than doing good for everyone- she becomes quite selfish and really hurts some others. Although she redeems herself a bit in the end, there are no bad consequences for her selfish behavior. I think that the premise was interesting and the story was written reasonably well- prefer Charlie Bone books to this...
Rating: Summary: I was hypnotized by this book! Review: Molly Moon is a plain, ugly girl at the Harwick House Orphanage until she finds a mysterious hypnosis book. She realizes that she can make people do what she wants with it, but one day her best friend gets adopted and moves to New York! Later, Molly decides to go to New York to find him. She didn't know that the person who made the hypnotism book had followed her to the airport. He was following her because he thought she had the book since she could hypnotize people. Then the trouble really starts. Can Molly keep her hypnotic secret? I really like this book because it is as magical as Harry Potter and as exciting as Holes-it is one of my favorite books!
Rating: Summary: Molly Moons Incrediable Book of Hypnotism Review: Molly Moon's Book of Hypnotism By: Georgia Byng Reviewed by:H.Patel P.3 This book is about a girl named Molly who lives at Hediech House and is no ordinary orphan. She has got her hands on a book of hypnotism. She then later realizes that she has an amazing ability. She has the ability to hypnotize people. And with her dreams of becoming a Broadway superstar this will surely help her. Sure she thinks no one no's, however she is wrong. Because a suspicious stranger is watching her every move and he'll do anything to steal her hypnotic secret. This is an amazing book and a book in which surely hypnotized me in reading. I also enjoyed this book because it made me laugh and giggle all over the place. For example, this quotes "NOTOROUS" this just helped me realize how Molly felt. I also enjoyed it when Molly said "GRRRR" this really surprised me because Molly seems like a girl that would never get mad. This really showed me a lot. As you can see I also enjoy this book because it is very interesting and an excellent book for 7th graders. My favorite part in this book was in the beginning. I enjoyed this because Molly has to survive alone with out her best friend. This is also the part when Molly has toilet monitor. This part also made me feel a little sad because they have to clean the toilets with their toothbrush. This part also makes me realize how much we should appreciate our parents. This is a wonderful book and is great to get hypnotized in!
