Rating: Summary: LBD :Its a Girl Thing Review: Finally that year has come when you are allowed to go out, party, go dancing, and enjoy the biggest music festival in the nation, well at least you think you can. That is until your typically unreasonable parents ("Can't you put on a bigger top? All that flesh-it's just not right!") say you cant go to the music festival! Then you realize that your life has ended because that means no music, no partying, and, most of all, no "million totally lush festival-going boys." For Fleur, Claudia, and Ronnie this music festival called Astlebury is what they have been waiting for their whole lives and their parents all say absolutely not. LBD: It's a Girl Thing takes you through what the fabulous clique called LBD (Les Bambinos Dangereuses) does to take their minds off of Astlebury and trust me it is out of this world! So the girls end up staging their own music festival called "Blackwell Live" with some of the best local band talent. Complicating matters are boyfriend lust, the school principal, temperamental bands, and of course, parents. Which means it wasnt as easy as it sounded because once they cleared it with their principal they needed some acts, so they held an open audition. It all goes well until their rivals "Catwalk" auditions and demands to be the headlining act, and to make matters worst she steals away Ronnie's crush Jimi Steele which ticks the whole LBD off. During this stressful period of planning and such the girls encounter a few problems. For one, Ronnie's parents are in the process of a separation and her longtime crush is officially going out with her enemy Panama (Catwalk). Although the girls encounter many problems, in the end everything turns out great. The festival is a success and all the bands are great. Then on comes Catwalk and it turns out that to everyone's surprise they cant really sing! During the festival while they were singing and dancing there tape jammed and Panama was stuck frozen solid with her eerie voice filling the whole crowd with mixed emotions. But then two amazing unforgettable events occur at Blackwell Live, one in which will change Ronnie's life. This book is very entertaining especially when it comes to being the most talked about and popular clique in your whole school. Any one that was once fourteen could easily relate to this book and who knows it could also reunite you with your past. As for what happens you will just have to read the book. If you were a fan of the Georgia Nicholson series you will find your self "eating out" off this book, you can easily compare the two main characters Georgia and Ronnie because they are so alike. You will recognize a bunch of Georgia moments and their favorite word "snogging" a lot, which shows that they are almost sisters they are so alike. So take the adventure with the LBD to see what ends up with 2nd most talked about festival.
Rating: Summary: IF YOU LIKE ANGUS, THONGS... Review: I loved this book. I had read Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging and loved it. After I finished all of them I wanted to read more books that were like it. I was lost in a sea of crappy books and then I found this. The characters are hilarious and just like the kind of friends that you would want. This is such a great book if you like Angus, Sloppy Firsts, and Sisterhood.I highly recommend it!

Rating: Summary: Teenage Troubles Review: LBD it's a girl thing is a funny and witty book about the life of three teenage girls: Fleur, Claudia, and Ronnie. In the story the girls desperately want to go to the Astlebury music festival, but their parents won't let them. Claudia comes up with the idea to have their own music festival at their school. The girls face a few problems along the way like: Ronnie's parents' separation and Panama and her band, the girls' enemies are the headline act in the festival. After a few bumps everything works out and the festival is a great sucess. Ronnie gets the boy she has a major crush on and her parents get back together. She also has a new sibling on the way. As an added surprise, Superstar Mike Saunders comes to the festival and sings a few songs for the perfect ending. I think that the book was a tad bit boring and the plot was weak. I also thought that it was very humorous and realistic when it comes to how teenage girls act these days.

Rating: Summary: Teenage Times Review: The novel LBD it's a girl thing, by Grace Dent, is a funny story about three teenage girls: Fleur, Claudia and Ronnie. They desperately want to go to the hottest music festival around; Astlebury. The hottest stars will be performing. The girls' favorite singer Spike Saunders will also perform. The girls are crushed because their parents will not let them go. After hours of sulking and complaining the girls are hopelessly sad. Finally Claudia comes up with a brilliant idea to have their own music festival at school. They call it the Blackwell festival. The girls must choose their enemies from the band Catwalk to be their headline act. During this stressful period of planning and such the girls encounter a few problems. For one, Ronnie's parents are in the process of a separation and her longtime crush is going out with her enemy Panama. Although the girls encounter many problems, in the end everything turns out great. The festival is a success and all the bands are great. As the last band Catwalk (Panama's band) goes on to perform, their tape is jammed and people realize that they are lip-syncing. The audience laughs them off stage and everyone starts to go crazy. To settle them down a surprise guest comes. Yep, you guessed it, Spike Saunders! He sings a few songs and all goes well. Ronnie's parents get back together with some very important news; they are having a baby. Ronnie's longtime crush Jimi Steele breaks up with Panama and asks Ronnie out. The festival was a huge success. I thought that the book was ok; the plot was a little weak but I loved the characters. I really could relate to them because they are very realistic and act how teenagers do these days.
