Summary: Amazing Book
Review: The terrorist is an utterly outstanding book! I litterally cried and laughed along with the suspense. I felt for the young 16 year old Laura Williams. I have read almost all of Caroline B. Cooney's (who is an outstanding author) books. It is a true page turner. Although, I was jumpy after reading the book as I looked back to the horrid events on sep.11. This book is truly genuine and original. A great read!

Summary: You Never Know Who You Can Trust
Review: A review by Jill

The American Williams family was shocked to hear the news that a terrorist pointlessly murdered their eleven-year-old boy, Billy. His sister Laura is determined in every ways to find out who his killer is. Every day, Laura looks at anybody as a suspect, including her close friends. Being located in a school in London, where there are many different races of students, there could just be American haters, trying to state their opinion. Throughout the story, without the support of her family or friends, she tries to find the killer all on her own.

Although the story can drag on at times, it was well written, and really makes you wonder about terrorism. Especially at this time in the world, this book interested me. I have been wondering about terrorism, and what is was all about, this answered some questions I had about it. It is very unusual to see Laura try to find the killer, and even look at her friends in that way. Her friends don't give her much support in the book, either. They all tell her to get over it, when all she needs is to be comforted. The language is moderately easy to understand, and there were few words that I came across not understanding.

I recommend this book, particularly if you are having questions about terrorism. There are parts that are longer than they need to be, but other than that, this book is great. If you like to read about mystery, than this book is for you.

Summary: Something to think about
Review: I've read all of her books and I have found that she has a major gift. This book isnt one of her longer ones but it still produces the same suspense. For me as a teenager this book is very centered around friendship and got me thinking about who my real friends were. Oh and I would like to add that I think Joanna's review was way to harsh. If she wants to know why this book claims that America is the best, well its because this book is from an American's point of view, Laura the 16 year old is American and that is why.

Summary: A Great Shocker!
Review: Upon my review of the book, The Terrorist, by Caroline B. Cooney, I have given it 4/5 stars, and Best Thriller Book (see my list.) It states an obvious terrorist group, but then it turns out with a surprising conclusion. This books includes world places, policies, and travel. It also is one for those who enjoy a nice little short book. Being only about 100 pages or so . . . I would recommend this book if you have read any other Caroline B Cooney books!-

Summary: Greatest Book I've Ever Read In My LIfe
Review: I loved this book. I hate to read and I had to do a book report for English. I got the book and loved reading it! I was so surprised! I could really relate to what the book was talking about because when I was in the middle of reading the book the tragety of September 11th happened. It also had to do with terrorists like the story did. Even though September 11th happened I was excited and happy that it was actually a good book I could really relate to. Well I would recommend this book to anyone and evryone!!!

Summary: A Family Tragedy
Review: The Terrorist by Caroline B. Cooney is an exciting and suspenseful novel. Laura Williams and her family move to London for a year because of her father's job transfer. Even though she, her mother, and her father dread the move, her younger eleven year old brother, Billy, absolutely loves it to death, literaly. He is handed a package that was really a bomb in the London underground, and it explodes in his arms. His death changes their family's life forever; all of the excitement and wonder is gone, but unlike her parents, Laura wants revenge on the terrorist that killed her brother.
Laura goes through the book suspecting everybody. Her friends, her enemies, everyone. But her suspicions become derailed when a "friend" asks her for her help to flee the country because of an unjust marriage. Jehran, Laura's friend, needs to borrow Billy's passport since she does not have one of her own and she looks amazingly like Billy. The two spend a lot of time together figuring out their plan to make the great escape. The book builds from that when Laura finds she really cannot trust everyone.
I highly recommend reading this novel to anyone that comes across it from the fifth grade all the way to college students. Most students may not be able to relate to the novel, but they can imagine what Laura, her parents, and her friends feel like during the course of the novel because of the important and precise details from the author. The Terrorist is a murder story full of tension that anyone can find exciting and suspenseful. The plot is built up expertly through the story, and Caroline B. Cooney can consider this work, in my opinion, a masterpiece.

Summary: Teaching toll
Review: This is a very powerful book from chapter one. in light of what occured in [September 2001] this book could be an excellent teaching tool. The Terrorist delves into biased views towards terrorist and towards americans as well. the book covers different realms of society in europe. i think that this book is a great tool to help kids understand what terrorism is and what their views are on americans. the book follows a 12th grade student through a school year in her search for her brothers murderers.

it follows her inquiries into all people around her including students and parents. it is a very interesting book with twist and turns that keep the story alive. this book could be used from junior high to high school successfully.

Summary: racism uncalled 4
Review: i read this book last year, and it was fun and enjoyabble, till i got 2 the part about the racism against muslims.the book is about a boy in London who got killed by a bomb, and the book is a mystery 2 find out who did it,but they say bad things,(and very wrong)about muslims.4 your information,i am a muslim, and approxomately 1% of what ms. cooney said about them was true.i read this book all the way,and was hurt by the way she showed off about how cool america is,and how sophisticated israel is,and how primitive arabs are.she especially mentioned syria, wich is where i'm from, and said its primitive.i think the main goal of the book was not 2 suspense readers into knowing who the killer was(even though she did a good job on that)but 4 a chance 2 show off for america and 2 put down arabs.i'm not saying america is horrible;its not;only caroline b. cooney seemed proud of it so much, and wanted 2 hurt arabs.otherwise this is avery good book, suspenseful, exciting, and 1 of the best,if u ignore the racism.(wich i don't.)

Summary: Very Good Book, Thrilling!
Review: This is an incredibly good book! It is one of my favorites! However, if you are nightmare prone, this is not a good book for you. I admit, it does have a few racist parts, and I don't like that, but the plot makes up for it. I really reccomend this book to kids in fifth grade or up. The plot has a lot to do with world issues and can be very confusing to someone younger! My compliments to the author!
