Summary: Okay, so it's cruel, but...
Review: ...the abject cruelty in this story is one of its best points. It's a funny, funny, funny story for anyone who's ever thought about getting revenge on another person. Any child or adult with a sense of humor will love this wild, ridiculous, and zany book!

Summary: A truly wonderful book
Review: A marvelous piece of literature for children. I read this when I was about 8 and it was my first Roald Dahl book and of all his books that Ive read I think it's the best. Thinking about it brings back so many memories of nights I spent reading this book and laughing my head off. Roald Dahl truly knew how to enter and spark the most amazing parts of the imagination. I would rcommend this book to a child or anyone with an inner child. A great book for an adult to share with a child ... like my grandpa did with me.

Summary: Are You Ready For A Funny Book!
Review: Can you imagine having a grandmother that is as tall as a house? Well, that's what happens in George's Marvelous Medicine by, Roald Dahl. Well, the book is about George's grandmother getting larger because George gets all the stuff he can find and puts it in his grandmother's medicine. I like this book because you can see the grandmother getting bigger and bigger. The author's point of writing this is to entertain because that would never happen to your grandmother. I have one last question. Do you think George's grandmother is going to get bigger or shrink? Read and find out.

Summary: The Ultimate "Do Not Try This At Home" Story for Kids!
Review: George is alone at home taking care of his grandmother, and unlike my grandmother and your grandmother, George's grandmother is not very nice. So George decides that what his grandmother needs is some stronger medicine than usual and he decides to make his own. When you read what George puts into his medicine your jaw will drop and you will scratch your head. You will know that it just cannot be right to be everything into his medicine that George cooks up in his enormous stewing pot. Half of the stuff will certainly cure all sorts of ills, but the other half are not meant to be taken internally by any living creature.

Because of this exaggerated hyperbole (which is neither redundant nor repetitive), Roald Dahl's story of "George's Marvelous Medicine" cannot be taken seriously, which is exactly why it is so much fun. No way, not George and certainly not the reader, could possibly imagine what happens when grandmother gulps down her first spoonful of the new medicine. Dahl is not only inventive, he is irreverent, which is why he appeals to children and former children alike. Quentin Blake provides the illustrations, as he does for most of Dahl's stories, and the combination is beginning to seem as ideal as that between Carroll and Tennille. Like George's strange and wonderful adventure, reading Dahl's stories allows us to touch the edge of a magic world.

Summary: This medicine goes down easily
Review: George's grandmother is an absolutely wicked old woman, who delights in nothing more than being mean to George and making him uncomfortable. After a particularly grueling encounter with the old bat which makes him frightened, George tries to think of a way to teach his grandmother a lesson. As with so many other Dahl protagonists, he hits upon a brilliant and daring plan. He decides to replace her medication with "Georges Marvelous Medicine," which he makes by mixing up a witch's brew of household items. He knows that it's magical, but not what it will do. And that's when things get even more entertaining.

Once again, Roald Dahl has created a masterpiece that will keep children enthralled by presenting a forbidden fantasy; in this case, taking revenge on a wicked, persecuting adult who seems protected by the envelope of invulnerability that adults seem to have.

This is a very slim book, and even a casual young reader should be able to plow through it in one or two sittings. I remember that, after I read it for the first time as a boy, I coudn't put my finger on exactly what I had enjoyed so much. The plot is very simple, and I couldn't answer my own question. I finally just decided that I liked it all; every page and scene is entertaining.

Children and adults will love the humor that this book represents. While Dahl comes under fire from some parents, I feel that the tongue-in-cheek nature of the book makes itself known to children; in the same way that they know they can't throw a bucket of water on a wicked woman to melt her (ala The Wizard of Oz), they'll know that they can't be poisoning the unpleasant old people in their life. Above all, this is a fun story, and children will love to see the unpredictable effects of the magic brew that George creates.

Highly recommended.

he realizes his grandma's medicine just made her grumpier. So , he decides to make his own
medicine. To make his own medicine, he goes roaming around the house putting in anything
he was allowed to touch. If you want to find out what happens, read the book!!I would recommend this book to children ages five & up who love fiction because this
is some of the best fiction ever written by one of the best fiction writers in the world in my opinion !! I've noticed a silly message: if you're dealing with a grumpy old grandma, you can be a little creative... just like George was!!
I liked when George sang that stupid song because after I read it I laughed my fool head off!! I think this is the perfect book for children that like to laugh!
If you like this book you can read his other books too!!

Summary: The Most Hilarious Book
Review: George's Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl is a fantasy story with many exaggerations. To start the story off the main character George decides to make some medicine for his grandmother so she won't be so crabby. He goes around he house collecting ingredients that go from basic ingredients all the way to very exotic ingredients. George wonders if his creation will turn out to work. George has an exciting mind that never gives up trying. This book is very hilarious in the end. In this book, George accidently gives the medicine to some other people/animals. It turns out to be a disaster. I would definitely recommend this book to any reader that likes to read comical and untrue books.
