Summary: Soooo good!
Review: I picked up this book at a B&N store and OH MY GOSH! I fell in love with it. The characters are diverse, entertaining, and the story is incredable. I don't like writing revews but this book deserves it. Ms. Holder and Ms. Viguie are an amazing team and I can't wait for the next book!!!!

Summary: Jer and Holly Forever
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. It keeps you wondering what happens next. The descriptive narrative made everything come alive. The character descriptions make you feel like you know them, and absolutely make you feel how sinister some of them are and how pathetic others are. Getting to know several different families and their rituals with the interwining of those families have made it one of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: I was hooked on the first page
Review: It is not often that I actually stop and admire an image in a book. I usually appreciate imagery but I'm not one to ruminate on it. However, when I read "Clouds like decomposing gray fists" I just had to stop and enjoy the vivid picture that Holder and Viguie had painted in my mind's eye.

From that moment on, the book ran much like the rapids it begins on. I literally could not put it down (I nearly got in trouble for taking such a long lunch). I thought it was an intelligent read, scary and suspenseful, without the overly nasty bits you sometimes get in horror novels.

WITCH hit me from just about every side, I cried, I got angry, I laughed (out loud, it was kind of embarrassing, people stared), I was hopeful only to have my hopes dashed and then re-kindled then dashed...you get the picture. I even nearly had a heart attack at least twice.

The tapestry of past and present was incredible as the characters took form and the history unfolded. The characters come alive and just when you think you have it figured out...you don't. I always appreciate it when a book surprises me and WITCH managed to pull off a few twists that even I didn't expect.

My only complaint is that I have to wait for book 2!!!!! :) Well done.

Summary: Spellbinding!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Make sure when you buy this book that you have time enough to read the whole thing in one sitting. You won't be able to put it down!

Witch is a very exciting read! The pace and tone of the book was set right away by the foreboding poem at the beginning of the first chapter. I got involved right away in the rich array of characters that were deftly intertwined throughout the book. The imagery and flashbacks were magnificent! This book was suspenseful and scary without being too much over the top. I can't wait for the next installment of the book due to come out in January to see what happens!!

Summary: Somewhat of a disappointment
Review: This book had a promising start, but was all together somewhat of a disappointment.

This book is a LOT darker, than I first thought, and the love story is much more pronounced than I thought it would be too.

Also, parts of this story were quite confusing. The Deveraux, know like every language to use their powers, and the Cahors, who like barely speak English somehow manage to make use of their powers? At the end, it was as though Holly, just like figured out how to use the magic, and was like super powerful.

Also, the ending is quite wrong........The black fire should be able to destroy anything or anyone in a matter of seconds, yet it can't kill one warlock? Hmmm...........convient.

All in all, this book isn't all it's cracked up to be

Summary: Holly and Jer are not Romeo and Juliet
Review: This books was so leaden, the character's were so leaden and like the lead characters romance was a bore-what they spend like a total amount of like two pages making google eyes from across the room and thinking, whoa what a hottie and then bam! their in love!If they had spent more time together maybe I would have got it but their together like a total of 5 pages or something. I mean actually talking not just staring at eachother like moony eyed stuffed animals. If you want an interesting novel try L.J. Smith's Forbidden Game triliogy or Cate Tieran's Sweep series.

Summary: Interesting Novel
Review: When Holly Cathers's parents are killed in a rafting accident, she's forced to leave her life in San Francisco, and take off to Seattle, where she has to live with her aunt Marie-Claire, and her twin cousins, Amanda and Nicole. But soon, Holly's grief turns into curiosity, and fascination, for strange incidents begin to occur. The main one being that any desire that she whispers to her cat seems to come true, and for some reason she has an undeniable attraction to a boy she hardly knows. Not to mention that her friend is attacked by a vicious falcon in a freak accident. Now Holly, Amanda, and Nicole are entering a world filled with secrets, ancient magics, and possession, rule.

Being a fan of Nancy Holder's work with the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER series, and Debbie Viguie's MIDNIGHT PEARLS, I felt that I had to read this book. Holly is a fun character, who is spirited, and intelligent, and her cousins Amanda and Nicole are equally fun and interesting. The book in itself was very intriguing, and well written. This is a must for all fans of Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie.
