Summary: If you think it's scary you can't take anything
Review: I read this book it 6th grade. I laughed to see people think this was scary. Don't worry if you read it it won't scare you. I loved the mystery wipped into thought. Overall I loved it!

Summary: Creepy
Review: I read this book one summer when I was 11 and it scared the hell out of me. But of course, kids are fascinated by such dark, supernatural things. And this book is full of it. I was hooked. Anyone reading it can immediatly feel the dark, lonely mood that the writing evokes. This book is a page-turner with those type of endings that leaves the reader wondering......

Summary: Absolutely thrilling!
Review: I read this book years ago when I was in Elementary school. The eerie nature of the book and the element of "witchcraft" really intrigued me. This book does this in a very innocent manner to me, but gives you just enough "darkness" to get the feeling across. Jessica has to deal with powers that are overcoming here....dark forces.....and she deals with them in her own way. The ending is eerie....all in all, this book really got my attention. I'm in my final years of high school, but I still reflect on this book at times. It left an impression on me. I recommend this book highly.

Summary: very realistic and entirely frightening!
Review: I too read this book in elementary school, the fifth grade to be exact. My family lived in a very rural area where lonliness permeated every aspect of my life. Our home was old and creepy...The perfect setting in which to read this all too real story. I spent many frightful nights reading this book curled up in my bed. Often I was too scared to even allow my feet to hang over the bed. The witchcraft element is enough to make any curious and impressionable child wonder about the supernatural. I would recommend parent discussion of the contents to help young children with the sometimes overwhelming realities of this story. by Jennifer

Summary: The only book that stood out in my past.
Review: I've read MANY books. I read a lot when I was in Middle School because I didn't have many friends. This book and "The Headless Cupid," also by Zilpha Keatley Synder are the only books I can remember reading. I never knew they were by the same author. I HIGHLY recomend these two books. They really do make you think, and will stay with you for years to come.

Summary: This book was alright.
Review: If you need a book to read then pick this one up, but I wouldn't say go out and buy it. It is an alright book though, but the beggining takes a long time to reveal what the story is about.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Book
Review: Now, I've read a lot of books and this is one of the greatest ones I've read. The feeling, the excitment, the horror, the mystery, just all of it. If you have never read this book before, read it.
