Rating: Summary: Leaving Home review Review: Leaving Home is a very interesting book to read. I have enjoy reading it because all the stories have something interesting that would make you want to keep on reading till you finish. One of the stories that I like was On the Rainy River. The Story talks about a man who is telling a story. A story he's had to live with for the past 20 years, feeling the shame and the embarassement of it and finally putting it down on paper. It has lots of interesting stories but this one was one of my favorite.
Rating: Summary: It's a wonderful book Review: Leaving Home is a wonderful anthology of stories by d different authors who make you feel if your really in the story in the story.Ireally like reading Allan Sherman A Gift Of Laughter because the father and the son had similar characteristic. They both reacted in the same way same same way when they were talk to in a manner that they didn't didn't like.In Leaving Home some their decision was either based on a choice that they had to make or their parents sendin them away on vacation.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book Filled with Short Stories Review: Leaving Home is a wonderful book filled short stories by different writers. Some of these writers include Sandra Cisneros and Annette Sanford. The stories in this book are about different kinds people that leave their homes or something like that and as they leave they encounter real life problems or realize something in their lives at one point. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys short meaningful stories.
Rating: Summary: The Book to Pay Attention to Review: Leaving home was a good book with alot of different stories. To me I think that this book was interesting to read and it makes me want to read more books similar to it. The stories that are in the book all are about leaving home and going on trips and just not being at home. The story that I like the best was Bad Influence because i had to do a presentation on that story. Most of the stories in the book were pretty good. I would reccomened this book to some of my classmates and friends that are in school as well. According to the stories in the book I think that it would be good to leave home and go on a vacation like in the stories.
Rating: Summary: The Frist time I read a good book Review: Leaving Home was a very well written book by many authors. I think that it was a very interesting book.It has been the first book I read in a long time. The book shows how many people leave home and learns about some things new or fun. The two best short storys I like was Dawn and The Bad Influence. Those two storys have made me have a new out look on leaving home. They have also show that leave home is not so bad. That it may turn into some thing good.
Rating: Summary: Rating Home Review: Leaving Home was one of the best short story books I have read in a long time. I enoyed reading stor- ies such as: The Circuit, Dawn, and Trip in a Summer Dress. When reading these stories I felt a sense of Understandment, as if I knew what the author was talking about or going through. The stories kept me interested and wanting to go on to the next story. I enjoyed how some authors would end there stories in questions and make you think about what you think is going to happen next. Some authors even used other metaphors to explain their stories. overal I thought the book was great.
Rating: Summary: I can Relate Review: Leaving Home was one of the few books I enjoyed reading. I specifically enjoyed readying ¡§A Tale From Long Ago¡¨ by Norma Fox Mazer and ¡§Bad Influence¡¨ by Judith Ortiz Cofer. I was really able to connect with what the author was saying in his story. I found deeper meaning in this story when the authors talked about events that happened. I felt that I had some of the same problems and issues and obstacles. The author talked about growing up and choosing the right path to take. All the stories talked about growing up and going on to better things. Not necessarily about leaving home, but making decisions in your life that made you more mature.
Rating: Summary: My review of a fruite bowl for grandma Review: My veview of this story is that it did not fockus much on the main charrater it only flashes back sou you really dont get a good feel of what the chareter is going through our feeling
Rating: Summary: Leaving Home Review: Peer Review Review I like the way some of the titles coincide with what the story talks about. All the stories have a good moral and good lessons are to be learned from these stories. The book has many different cultures and backgrounds so that many people can relate to the book instead of just one ethnicity or one particular background. There are stories coming from the Asian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, White, and Black cultures. I like the way a lot of the stories came from a child's perspective so that not only can adults enjoy the book, but also adolescents can too.
Rating: Summary: Leaving home to find home... Review: Rochman and McCampbell's Leaving_Home is a thoughtful collection of stories and poems that brings us in touch with those emotions that overcome us when we hear the word "home." These stories and excerpts include especially powerful selections from Amy Tan, Tim Wynne-Jones, and Tim O'Brien. Together, these stories remind us of the importance of our roots, and are at once reminiscent of Mann's Tonio_Kroger, but more thorough. A perfect reading selection for graduates.
