Rating: Summary: Almost all Teenage Girls can relate to this book. Review: Fifteen By Beverly Clearly is a book almost all teen girls can relate to. This book can solve almost all of your problems. Fifteen is about a girl named Jane and all the obstacles that are blocking what she really wants. Jane is fifteen years old and has never been on a date, but she hopes to go on one soon. One day the cutest and most popular guy in school, Stan, asks her out. Her answer is yes. There are a few problems though; her worst enemy Marcy likes Stan. Her parents are the old-fashioned type. They don't want her going out with Stan. She goes on a few dates and on every one she runs into a problem. The book was fabulous except Beverly wasn't very descriptive. For example "A girl's voice interrupted Jane's day dream and she looked up and saw Marcy Stokes waving at her in a green convertible". She never described what Marcy looked like. " The green convertible" that's it. She could have elaborated more. I recommend this book to about all teenage girls, from 12-16; however for older teenagers it might be a little too easy. The book is one of kind. It is unbelievably realistic and that is very uncommon for books. If you like to read realistic books read Fifteen By Beverly Clearly.
Rating: Summary: Great without usual teen problems! Review: This book was really good, I've read it many times. It's really cute because its sort of old fashioned and simple.Jane Purdy is just an average girl with hopes for a good romance and she gets it.

There she is at one of her babysitting job and someone walks in. A mysterious boy. She falls for him immmediatly . What will happen next ? Will the strange boy see her as a girlfriend? this is for you to find out. It is a WONDERFUL story!!!
Rating: Summary: romantic story Review: I really like this book because it is a romantic story that really could come true one day.
Rating: Summary: Hark! is that the sound of footsteps? Review: That was probably my fav. line in this corny yet sweet book...Ok Ok so people call it old fashioned and "dated" but when has a few hours of escapism hurt someone? And it is probably the most hilarious "romance" novel that there is...no mooning and swooning and definately no M&B-like sentimental trash. Very down to earth and most important - a book any girl can relate to no matter which era she lives in....
Rating: Summary: Old-fashioned, but has meaning for today Review: I didn't know that this was a book written 20+ years ago untill I read it. My book had pictures and they were really old fashioned. This book told about Jane's fears and hopes, much like girls today. This was a clean romance book that tells of what true love can be. What I like best is how Stan in a REAL gentleman. Why aren't guys like him around much today?
Rating: Summary: Moms, buy this book for your daughters! Review: This was the first "romance" novel I read. Of course, that was 20 years ago and yet, I never forgot about it. I remember something about Stan giving Jane his ID bracelet. Just thinking about it still gives me butterflies in my stomach. Now I'm a mother of a 6 year old daughter and I am ordering this book to save for her when I think she's ready for it. She already loves to read and thinks Grease is the BEST movie, so I think she'll love this book, don't you?
Rating: Summary: Pure Escapisim Review: OK, so other reviewers here have trashed this book and called it old-fashioned. Well, it is old-fashioned but it certainly does not deserve to be trashed! You just have to know what you're reading when you read it, its the story of a girl's experiences growing up in the 50's, nobody ever said it was modern, and it obviously isn't. It is however, a very entertaining, very well written book which I couldn't put down. Cleary had me on the edge of my seat wondering how things were going to work out for Jane, and I enjoyed the whole book immensely. I recommend it for pure escapisim and a curious look at how things used to be if you were fifteen forty years ago.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! Review: this book is not meant for the subjects mentioned below. this book is a great getaway, from the "pressures of sex" and doing "more than kissing." hey, this book was written in a completely different era! when things like that weren't so important to adolescents. it was a time when things like "only kissing" mattered a lot. when people could be happy just being together in a malt shop instead of sleeping around! believe me, i would rather have that kind of romance. it was a sweet story how jane and stan get together despite the odds. readers should know when the pick up FIFTEEN that their picking up a sweet, sentimental old fashioned book, not a trashy romance novel. I'm 17 and i still love the book! so do yourself a favor, get out of this trashy decade for a couple hours and live a little with an entirely wonderful book!!!
Rating: Summary: Above my expectations(even tough it was old)!! Review: I read FIFTEEN when I was in the fifth grade...And LOVED it! Even though it was written in the 50's and, like, nothing like that could happen today(in 1999). It was really sweet!!!!!!
