Summary: Book I read in Modern Novels
Review: The book Breaking Rank is about a boy named Thomas, a.k.a, Baby who is a member of what they call "the clan." The Clan is a group of boys who segregate themselves from every one else. The Clan refuses to take part in school. They would rather sit around and do nothing than to understand the real meaning of learning.
Thomas, a.k.a. Baby, was a little different than the rest of the clan members. He knows that he has learned a lot from the Clan but wants to improve himself, to show that he can accomplish more. Thomas takes a standardized test. When the results come back, he finds out that he does extremely well and is even put into the honors program at school. Mr. Hall, a teacher from school, put a girl named Casey in charge of tutoring Baby. Mr. Hall states that "People who love you want the best for you. They are not going to choke you, or reshape you, or stand in your way when you do something good." He encourages baby to work to his potential.
As Casey starts to help Baby, her family is worried for Casey's safety, and her friends start to worry about her because she is befriending them and is with an "Outsider. Casey's mom warns her "You know it's not going to be simple." As they start to work together, they start to have respect for each other and form deep bond.
When the Clan finds out what Baby is up to, they start to lose respect for him and force him out of the Clan. The Clan members taunt Baby. "You never told us you had friends." The clan members eventually become jealous of Baby's new talents and try to get him to come back to the Clan.
As Baby and Casey's relationship grows stronger, Baby's problems become part of Casey's problems. Casey is good person who does no evil but treats her and Baby's relationship as a game. She is attracted to Baby but in the end, doesn't see him as a real person.

Overall, I thought that the book was a great book and I recommend it to anyone. It was a lot like Romeo and Juliet and how they were from two different worlds. Even though, they made it work and form a great relationship.

Summary: An Amazing Book
Review: The book Breaking Rank was an outsanding book. It was a realy well thought out book. It was a book that a tenager can relate to. This is so because in High school there are different groups. Like poupular and nerds. The book had a realy good prespective on real world. Like how people judge people without even knowing them. They make judgments on how they dress or look. The book was similar to The Outsiders by H.E.Hilton. The book had many themes. Such as at to judge people before you know who they realy are. Also that family support is important. I recommend this book to anybody.

Summary: Breaking Rank (tops rank)!
Review: The Book Breaking Rank was one of the best books I have ever read. This book taught me how friends stick together. Also it taught me that,If you pay attention during class,if you pay attention, and do all your homework that it pays off in the end. For example, When Thomas meets with Mr.Hall.Mr. Hall explains to Thomas that isnt going to be in Special Education anymore. Mr.Hall tells Thomas that he is going to be in Honars classes. Which means that he is going to have to work harder. There is going to be more of a challenge for him. School is supposted to be challenging and baby is being challenged. Mr.Hall assigns Casey to tutor Thomas. I thought that part was a really good way for Thomas not to fail but to pass. Once I got the book in my hand I couldnt put it down. Basically I really loved this book and I hope that we read more books like this one.

Summary: Reviewing Breaking Rank
Review: This novel was about helping others and being kind. Then there were two who were working together, that realized they like each other. Casey is helping Thomas so she can get help from Mr. Hall so that he will help her get in to a state school. Casey just needs to keep up the good grades and help Thomas with math to catch up to the rest of the honors students.
In the novel you will meet the Clan that Thomas is in at the beginning of the book. Thomas had taken a high school achievement test and does very well. So he was placed in the high honors classes. Casey, another honors student, helped tutor him on catching up to the rest. Between Thomas' home, the Clan, and Casey, Thomas is pulled in many different directions with different expectations.
The Clan leader Lenny, who is Thomas' older brother has a bit of a reaction when he finds out that Thomas is in honors classes. Thomas "baby" is the first member of the Clan to be placed in honors classes. He is the only member that was able to break through the "crib". When you read the book you will learn about Lenny's reaction and something that happens in the mean time throughout the novel.

Summary: A must read that is captivating and intense!
Review: When I started this book I was told that I would "fall in love with Baby." And not only did I fall in love with Baby, but with the entire book as well! This is one of the best books I have read lately. The story of Baby's struggle to become himself and his relationship with Casey is so captivating and honest that I could not put this book down! The intensity of the book often took my breath away and the superb writing realistically portrays the fierce and earnest emotions of teenagers. Read this book and you will not be disappointed!
