Rating: Summary: WOW WOW WOW Review: After reading the entire series, I got very stuborn with myself reading this one. Currently the last one in the series, I couldn't let go. I didn't want the series to finish so fast that I tried taking my time reading it. Silly me, I finished it in a day.I am a teenage boy and i LOVED it. I think a girl would enjoy it even more. The age listed is not appropriate, however, as 9 year olds don't need to know some of the stuff that is said. Many times, Alice can gross you out or make you cry. This one is truely the best in the series so far... Alice Alone should be great, too.
Rating: Summary: The Best Summer Review: Alice has waited all her life to go to high school. She and her friends think that they need to be skinny for high school. Alice and her friend Gwen decided to volenteer at the hospital but she doesn't know she will face a big challenge in life. At the beining of the summer, they don't consider it the best summer. But by the end, it has been the best summer of their life.
Rating: Summary: Alice Rules! Review: All the Alice books are really cool. She is a teenage girl whose probs are totally realistic. In "The Grooming of Alice" Alice volunteers at a hospital, helps deal with Elizabeth, who might be anorexic, and Pamela who is having a family crisis. Even with the obstacles along the way, the summer before high school is a good one for Alice. Reccomended to anyone who wants a funny read!
Rating: Summary: Very realistic and as good as always Review: Going through the period of time Alice and her friends are in The Grooming of Alice myself--the summer between 8th and 9th grade--I was startled by how well the book, in main theme at least, mirrored what for me is reality. As my friends and I have become increasingly self- and weight-concious, I have wrestled with a desire to be thin(ner) and a fear of anorexia or the like. The Grooming of Alice not only addressed this, it offered a sensible but not official solution as well as girls' general fears about the normalcy of their bodies. In the same breath, it was funny as always and incorporated so many components of life, almost everyone should be able to find something to identify with. A few show-don't-tell lessons were a little too obvious, but, hey, this isn't meant to be Shakespeare. It's a good, easy, entertaining read about growing up a girl.
Rating: Summary: It's great for what it is, but the age group is off Review: I am a big fan of the Alice series and have read each book a number of times each. Before this book the books seemed kinda unrealistic. Like some of the stuff they did I never would do. But in this one it talks about the disese anorexia. I think it is good to educate kids about that cause I know someone that has that and it has TOTALLY ruined their life. So I really recomend this book to everybody.

Rating: Summary: WOW! GREAT BOOK!! Review: I first read the Grooming of Alice in the 7th grade. I am now in the 8th grade and this book still sticks to me. It was the first Alice book of the series that I have read and I thought it was a really great book. I loved "the Grooming of Alice" so much that I read it a second time. I recommend this book to anyone who has time to enjoy a book full of laughs. I do plan on reading more of the books in the Alice series.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS SERIES! Review: I have read ALL the Alice books from the begining. I alwasys enjoy reading about what Alice will get herself into next. I really enjoyed third book and think it was one of the best ! I hope that the next one can match it!
Rating: Summary: Possibly the best Alice book ever! Review: I have read every Alice book and this has to be one of the most important and well written ones. Changes are everywhere for Alice and her family and friends- some bad, some good, and one incredible surprise! Once again it is filled with humor and touching moments. I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. I can't wait for the next installment. Things are really getting exciting in this series and I don't want to miss a beat!
Rating: Summary: The Grooming of Alice Review: I like the book because the author is a great writer. I also liked the characters because they're real easy to understand. It also is good because the characters are smart enough to get jobs so that way they can earn some money. The best part of the book is when the characters got out of school for the summer. The characters also finished middle school. Then they were looking forward to High School. The characters and the conflict. The characters were easy to picture in my mind. The conflict was that Alice and her friends thought that they needed to loose weight so they started jogging. They made a pacted that they wouldn't eat ice cream for the rest of the summer.
