Summary: Thriller...
Review: "Wanted!" was another great novel by Caroline B. Cooney, and a terrific thriller!

Alice can't believe it when she her dad calls her and tells her to drive his prized Corvette to the "place where they get milk shakes" and to bring his disks labled "TWIN". She doesn't even have her license, but she goes, anyway, confused. Then she hears that her father was murdered, and that her mother received a confession e-mail - from her!

Alice doesn't know what to do, and in a panic, she tries to hide her identity, dodging people searching for her. She gets deeper and deeper into trouble... Who killed her father, and why was she framed?

This was a great book, and I'd recommend it for ages 12 and up. I'd also definitely recommend some other novels of Cooney's, such as "The Face on the Milk Carton" and "Driver's Ed".

Summary: Wanted!
Review: "Wanted!" by Caroline B. Cooney is a fast, action-packed book similar to a movie. If you like murder mysteries, full of suspense, then you'll definately love this book. This book involves car chases, threatening phone calls, and the fear of not knowing what or who is going to strike in the next sentence. Alice Robie lives with her divorced father, while her mother lives in another section of town. One day Alice receives a strange phone call from a man, who claims to be her dad. It doesn't sound much like him, but she believes him. He tells her to meet him at their favorite ice cream shop along the Salmon River, in Connecticut. He also gives her careful instructions to take the Corvette, her father's prized possession. Alice is very suspicious, as her father would NEVER let her drive the Corvette before this point in time, even if she had had her driver's license, which she does not. Just as she is about to get into the shiny red Corvette, she hears the condo's front door unlatch and open with a shove. It sounds as if something heavy is being dragged across the floor, and then there is a yell, and a THUMP!, and silence. She quickly crawls underneath the Corvette as the sound of feet approach the one-car garage. She waits and hears some noises, like the sound of keys on a keyboard being pressed, some feet, and then the front door shuts, and she hears a car pulling away. Alice quickly opens the garage door and pulls the red Corvette out onto the street, knocking over a neighbor's clay planter. She arrives at the ice cream shop, which is now closing up for the day, the time being 5:00 PM. Alice, in a frenzy, turns on the radio and the music calms her down. Suddenly, a news bulletin comes on. "At approximately 4:30 PM, on Lake View Drive, Mr. Robie was murdered." Alice shrieks. "The murderer was seen to have driven away from the scene of the crime in a....bright....red....Corvette." Frantically, she turns off the radio, hops out of the car, rushes over to the pay phone, inserts twenty-five cents, and dials her mother's number. "Hello?" Her mother answers. "Mom!" Alice screams. "Alice, dear! Alice, we know. I got your e-mail with the confession in it....it's all right dear, you must have been terribly mad....we know you killed your father."

Summary: Wanted!!
Review: In Wanted, an adventurous story written by Caroline B. Cooney, there many things occur. It's a story about a teenage girl that is put in a dangerous situation by her own father, who was also in great danger. She's asked to do something very unusual that a parent wouldn't ask, but there's a really good reason for this. Although there are some inexplicable and rare events that leave you with many questions and confusions, it's a suspenseful story. I enjoyed reading the incredible things that happened to the poor teenage girl and how she overcame the things she went through in this story full of events. It's a non-stop action story from beginning to end that was fun to read. I liked the story, but in my opinion it could have been better organized and clearer.

Summary: Wanted! a book by Caroline B. Cooney
Review: The book Wanted! is a very well written suspense book filled with mystery and thrilling events. The story starts with a phone call from Alice's dad. He tells her to take the corvette and bring the disks labeled TWIN to the place where they get milk shakes. Even though Alice does not have her license he says it doesn't matter and to just bring them any way. Alice tries to ask him why but he hangs up before she can. Why would her dad want the disks and for her take the car out when she can't drive? Alice is about to leave when she hears people come into the house. Scare, Alice hides under the car till she thinks they are gone. When she gets in the car and drives to the place she hears disturbing news on the radio. Her dad has been murdered. The police and her very own mom thinks she is guilty, because of confession e-mail letter. Now the police are after her and the real murder too. Will Alice be caught? If Alice is caught, who is will be the one catching her? The rest of the book tells of her exciting adventure of being a fugitive. I had a good time reading this book and thought it was a very good page-turner with cliff hanging chapters. I recommend this book for people who like action pack thrillers. The reading level is Young Adult. I suggest if you like this book, you will like other Caroline B. Cooney books such as, Twins and Driver's Ed.

Summary: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!
Review: Hello you all. Wanted is a really really really good book. It has suspense and it ended a lot differently than I thought that it would. It is about a girl named Alice that is accused of murdering her father. She is all over the news and she is trying to run from it all. See was she all goes through, but really the whole time the police new it wasn't her but they left her on the news so that the real killer would think that he/she was safe. I hope I haven't said too much. This is such a good book. I think that anyone would like this book. If you like the way Caroline B. Cooney writes you will definitely like this book. I think that everyone should read it. If you are thinking of buying it go ahead and buy it. I am going to read it again and I just finished reading it today. I never re-read books so that is saying something. I really think that there should be a sequel. There could easily be a sequel. The sequel could say what happens to Alice, the killer, Alice's family and everything. So Caroline B. Cooney if you are reading this please write a sequel. I think that lots of people would enjoy a sequel. I know you will enjoy this book, Happy reading.

Summary: Excellent Murder Mystery
Review: Wanted! was both thrilling and suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Once you pick it up you won't want to put it back down. Wanted! is about Alice who is normal 15-year-old girl until one very fateful day. Alice's dad called her frantically and asked her to drive his prized corvette and meet him at their favorite ice-cream place and bring the two disks labeled twin with her. He didn't even care that she didn't have her license yet. Alice thought it was strange, but she followed her father's instructions anyways. Before she could leave she heard an intruder and had to hide until he left. Alice left as quickly as she could after the intruder left and finally made it to the ice-cream place. When her father didn't call or meet her there she became worried. To calm her nerves Alice flipped on the radio and heard an announcement that her father was murdered and she was the lead suspect. They even said that they had an E-mail confession from Alice. Suddenly Alice wasn't normal anymore. She was a fugitive, and she had to find the real murderer before she was caught by the police. Or even worse the murderer. This was an excellent murder mystery that left me wanting to read more. It had an excellent plot and good descriptions. Caroline B. Coonie is an excellent writer. I think that this is her best book, and it is my favorite book of all. She described Alice's reactions so well it seemed real. I strongly recommend that you read this book, especially if you enjoy murder mysteries.

Summary: 'Not sure about the hidden messages the book delivers
Review: This was one of those books chosen by others for me to read with my students. Cooney is very popular with the pre-teen/teen set and thus comes highly recommended. Several of the kids that I teach had read other titles; so, I was positive that this would be a rewarding experience for us all.

Well, the kids liked it, intently anticipating each development as it unfolded, and were satisfied by the "revelation" at the end. I suppose, then, the book is a success.

My major concern, however, is how Cooney's protagonist "Alice" reacts to certain situations. Without revealing any of the plotlines, I can say that Alice's actions involve deception, thievery, mistrust of the police, and contempt. She also made some genuinely dumb choices.

The young impressionable mind might assume that in order to survive, these are worthy attributes to have.

I made sure that my kids knew otherwise.
