Summary: CROSSES
Review: Crosses was an amazing book. Showing just how teenage kids think and what they think of drugs, sex, etc. There are exceptions to everything and not all teens are like that but i know me and my friends have been on the same page as Nancy and Katie (the two main characters) at some point. The book centers in suburbia telling the story of Nancy and Katie. Two best friends into self mutilation and drugs. It shows the girls and all the problems they get into along the way. You watch as Nancy meets Kaitie and falls into alcoholism and sever drug abuse. With alcoholic parents Nancy spends most of her time partying but tragedy strikes and Nancy is forced 2 chose between the drugs and her life. Some sex, lots of drugs, the ending was a bit of a let down ... but all in all an awesome book. One of my favorites if not it.

Summary: brilliant
Review: Another customer review said: "It seemed like it was an imitation, and a more modern version of a FANTASTIC book called Go Ask Alice, by Anonomous. Crosses just got old. All they talked about was drugs, and how Nancy and Katie always got stoned, high, or drunk." Crosses has been referred to as "the Go Ask Alice of the 90's." Sure, it is a lot like it, but with new issues that weren't adressed by GO Ask Alice, because the world is changing and so are the maladaptive copign skills that we develop. The other review was right in saying that they talked about the same things over and over, but this is because the addictions take over your life in such a way. I don't think this repetition of the drugs, of the cutting, of loving your friend so much that your heart hurts take away from the book, I think they make it what it is. This repetition, and this downward spiral, is the skeleton of the book. It is a must read, and one that is hard to put down.

Summary: gah
Review: I was glued to this book...however, I am a self-injurer and can honestly say that at most times in the book that self-injury was mentioned, it was in a nonrealistic way that aggrivated me. On one page, the main character mentions something about how it was always possible to stop the SI. I cannot say how incredibly wrong that statement was and how much it aggrivated me. If you SI, you will find false statements in the book that may irritate you beyond belief. False book.

Summary: Teenage drug abuse
Review: Crosses was one of the best books i have ever read. It has helped me to understand what most teenagers go throgh in this age time. I really felt sorry for Nancy and Katie. They both made there lifes so hard for themself, but they thought they were just haveing fun. I also noticed that lots of families follow the same things over and over again throgh the generations. For example, Nancy was doing the sme things her mom did as a child. I also notice that with lots of my friends. This book has hlped me the most by makeing me understand my life and others lifes.

Summary: Magnicentally written
Review: As a teeneager, I found this book to be compelling and honest. At times I was frustrated and in other instances I was bawling. Crosses was written to not be forgotten. This is an excellent oppurtunity to see inside the life of a teen and the struggle to be ourselves.

Summary: Hit so close to home
Review: I've read this book no less than 50 times in the past few years. When I first got my hands on it, it hit so close to home. Nancy and Katie reminded me in every way of my best friend and I. I let her read my copy and she was blown away as well. This book is a must read (in my opinion). Strikingly honest. No matter how often I read it I always cry at the end, because it reminds me so much of my friend and I.

Summary: I haven't read this book yet...
Review: If you're going to write a review of a book or a movie, don't spoil the ending! Geez... now that I know main people die in the story, I really don't even have to read it. Do you people have no idea how to write a review without ruining it for someone who hasn't read it yet? I read the reviews hoping to get some insight into the book to see if it was any good... and now I know the ending. Thanks alot.
